The Gran Turismo Sport Limited Edition does come with some nice extras, but I did read up on other reviews & they're right. Visually - Stunning. Sound - Good. But you have limited tracks to race on. Limited number of cars to choose from. And online racing is slow. All of which I experienced. This may be a PS4 game, but the PS2 & PS3 versions offered more for cheaper. Still, I recommend the game for its graphics & game controls. Just wish that there was more.

Great game....but....no true campaign

I can start by saying this game is a lot of fun. I am not a car fanatic, but I can appreciate the detail given to this game. Everything looks fantastic even though I don't have a 4K tv. Going through the showroom and looking at each car is a visual masterpiece. The preview for each car puts the car on an actual road with changing backgrounds. This way, you can see what the car looks like if it were on the road. You can even change the color of your choice on the fly...no load time. The handling can get challenging at times, but practice makes perfect. The livery mode and photo mode are things that can keep you busy for hours!
The menu system is not the easiest to get used to. It took me some time to figure out where everything is...but it's not impossible. I really wish this game had a true campaign mode with a proper storyline. Instead, we are given various missions/challenges that are supposed to teach proper driving techniques. Don't get me wrong...I love this mode and try to reach gold on everything. However, without a campaign mode, it just seems like something is missing.
My biggest complaint is that EVERYTHING relies on a solid internet connection. Even though I have good connection, I ran into an issue today where the GT servers were down for a couple hours. Really frustrating! I understand why they did this, but there has to be a better way to keep cheaters in line without punishing everyone else who plays fairly.
I haven't tried online matches against other players so I can't say anything on that. Overall, my early impressions of this game are very good. I am skeptical of this games reliability issues regarding their servers, but will give them a chance to work this out.

I was severely disappointed in this game especially after the long wait for it to finally be released. Everything I love about this game from all of it's predecessors is gone. The cars available are minimal, how could you possibly not include cars like the Ford GT, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 or anything from Pagani??? The career mode is now basically the licensing and a couple of challenges nothing like it used to be. I am not sure what they were thinking when developing this game but they missed their target market on this.
Graphics and Physics are on point but with the new set up I wont be taking advantage of them as much as I thought.
RIP Gran Turismo on to Forza and XBox for me

Progressive take on the tired simulation formula!

GT Sport isn't your typical grind for money/points to increase your car collection. It's very similar to Projects Cars 2 in that respect, but differs in the fact that the driving experience is also beautiful on a game-pad, the graphics are consistently impressive, there is a light progression system to unlock tracks/livery editor/etc, and of course that single player content is nearly non-existent.
Now I would have preferred if the developers implemented a championship series for players who prefer single player races/events (you know people who could careless about online tomfoolery). But speaking for myself, that premeditated formula is tired, predictable, and unrewarding. So this feature won't be entirely missed on my front. But those expecting a grand single player campaign will not only be disappointing, but genuinely upset with Polyphony Digitals choice to exclude such a common feature included in most modern day races. The consolation prize is you can always make custom races to fit your preference in arcade mode which works exceptionally well by the way, but you will never receive the same rewarding experience you would by completing organized races.
Instead, GT Sport single player campaign emphasizes driving school, driving challenges, and learning how to attack multiple tracks with timely braking in different modes. Overall, the single player emphasizes and focuses on teaching gamer's how to drive correctly/appropriately so we can take those skills online and enjoy fair competitive races against real competition.
Online is the bread and butter of this game. If you were a fan of Driveclubs easy "enter and go" online matches, GT Sport offers a similar experience, but on the simulation side. I still do time trials like any GT veteran, but I believe the longevity of this game will be based entirely upon the fantastic online racing experience. Don't think I really need to go in depth here. Now on to the criticisms...
The biggest issue in my opinion is the lack of cars and tracks available on launch. The claimed 160 plus cars seems like an exaggeration when looking for real world stock vehicles in Brand Central (in-game dealership). Things get worst when you realize most Motorsport-centric vehicles are mainly variations of the stock vehicles. Example: the Alfa Romeo 4C has 2 Motorsport variations. That's it!....for Alfa Romeo. Yes there is Alfa Romeo hatchback as well, but no one cares for this vehicle (my opinion). Then we have these Gran Turismo Vision vehicles that leave me cold. I, like many, have no connection to these fantasy vehicles that don't exist. It's cool to experience these undefined futuristic vehicles, but I want cars grounded in reality and this is a need GT Sport has trouble satisfying. Luckily, most of the stock sport cars are up to date like the Viper, RC, and F-Type although Lamborghini and Ferrari are severely lacking on this front.
Another issue is the "always online" system. This feature will ruin the lives of those who have no desire to play online, lack a secure internet connection, and/or don't believe in subscribing to PS plus. Every modes ability to work is dependent upon being connect to the internet. If the server is down, no progress is saved because your save file is saved to a cloud system on the GT servers. Additionally, every mode besides Arcade is blocked off. Even Scapes (photo mode) is locked away until that precious internet connection is reconnected. "Hope you about this digital life!!!"
Besides that, I highly recommend GT sport for PS4 owners who want a fine simulation racer. Word is the track/car limitation will be taken care of through post launch DLC, but knowing Polyphony Digital, we won't see this until 2020!!!! Until then, enjoy GT Sport because the only other option in the simulation realm is Project Car 2 and I wouldn't recommend that game if you play on a game-pad.

Compared to the only other GT game I own...the original GT on PS1...obviously the graphics, performance, sound and feel of this game is leaps and bounds ahead. Negatives about this game is the smaller selection of cars you now have, a little over 160 compare to 1k+ of previous versions. I really hate to admit this but I think Forza is still a bit better than this game.

By far the best version of GT ever!!! the VR mode is crazy its like you are actually driving the car in person.
-Great Graphics
-Great feed back when playing the game
Down side
-Requires an internet connection to gain access to the full game. Everything is saved on the cloud and with out the GT servers the game defaults to arcade.

I am honestly in shock this game has so many stars. I will not waste your time with my review. Will just mention I've been playing GT since GT2. This one is just a total let down. Do not buy new, save some money and get it used if you want to buy it so much. After 2 weeks of playing I was so disappointed at this game a seriously went tack to Best Buy and bought an XBOX One S with the included Forza Horizon. Well worth it. Overall two stars as game graphics are great. Sound is better than previous gen but overall game play was terrible. Keep in mind this game is online based, I think if it was called GT Online, it might of worked since it is not based on the traditional GT. The FIA and the "Real Driving Simulator" marketing is clever but people buy this game to have fun not to become a real racing driver. Overall, don't buy this game new, wait for a used copy...there will be plenty available.

If you want an awesome driving sim, with AMAZING online support, you NEED Gran Tursimo Sport. This thing is fantastic from the moment you load it up. Not only are the physics amazing, but the graphics are stunning.
Unlike most games these days that hide content behind loot boxes, this sim doesn't do that at all. You have to earn your cars the old fashioned way, by driving.
Now there are some complaints claiming that this isn't a Gran Turismo sim. These people are wrong. But just remember, this is GT Sport not GT 7, so you're not going to get all the features you'd see in a numbered release. However, if you're still complaining about that after having spent a few days racing in GT Sport, then I hate to break it to you, you're not a real GT fan to begin with.
The online races are robust and fantastic. You'll be competing from drivers from around the world. It's a real test of skills and it's satisfying too. Even if you don't take first the experience amazing.
Highly recommended. For fans of the previous sims and new drivers, this is the racing simulator that you want.

The lack of piece by piece car building and Sun/moon time lapse racing does not bother me! This game still got it! Best graphics, sound and realistic car handling, out there... And it has the auto mode for the newbies that still like the arcade style racing... VR puts it over the top!

This game is gorgeous. This is my first GT game. I know it's missing a lot of stuff the other ones had. I would consider this more a off-shoot game. It's GT but not part of the numerical series. You want cars and a campaign wait for GT7. This is for online and I rarely do that but I'm thoroughly enjoying what this game has to offer. The visuals are stunning on my 4K HDR TV. The test are fun and challenging. I like the picture mode. I have yet to try the VR mode but definitely looking forward to it. One on one racing. I honestly prefer that. So I can't wait to try the VR out.

Gran Turismo Sport has been so much fun through around 30-40 hours worth of racing for me. It stands out as the best in my opinion of racing currently available for the PSVR. The biggest flaws with the game are the mainly online only functionality, and lack of a huge variety of cars.
The racing itself though is definitely fun and accessible. It's definitely not a simulation as much as say Project Cars 2, but it feels better than Forza to me. It's a nice in-between spot that a lot of people will enjoy. I recommend GT Sport for the car nerds like me out there!

Though this is a slightly different take on gameplay for Gran Turismo, it is still a great game. The main part of the game is online/ racing live against others, and it can be very upsetting when you start a race and realize you have no chance of winning the race because everyone is so much better. But otherwise it’s the same great attention to detail and racing that Polyphony Digital always puts out.

GT is a great game. It’s been a while since I’ve played a sim and first time with the wheel. I would suggest playing with the wheel as it adds depth to the experience. The VR mode is fun although you only get to do standard races and not online. The online racing aspect is fun but not easy and the penalty system needs to be corrected. Game looks great graphically. Good game for people trying to really learn racing on a track correctly. The game modes do a great job of teaching with utube videos.

This is definitely more of a racing simulator than an arcade style racing game. Good for honing your skills. Importance has been put on online driving etiquette as well. Need to watch a couple of videos on sportsmanship before you're even allowed to try online.
I took off 1 star for the lack of a real career mode. The career is just a series of skills training courses. Still a fun game though.

I like the game overall. Graphics are amazing! What I don't like is having to be online all the time, and having no career mode. Not everyone wants to play online with other players, especially racing. It is also limited compared to forza. Not as many cars.

I love the Gran Tursimo series but this one has some major changes.. for the game to save any progress you make there has to be an internet connection. There’s no campaign/career mode!! There’s a lot to be desired. Graphics are amazing but that’s it, feels very stiff when I drive(sad face) well, Forza!! Here I come!

I love Gran Turismo. Probably the best videogame racing franchise of all time. Just got the game and wow I'm blown away by the graphics. Ordered a logitech steering wheel. Can't wait to get that in. Tried this with a VR headset at PSX and I was like wow so I had to get this game. VR soon. All in all I'm already enjoying this game and buying from Best Buy was a no brainer especially with the Gamers Club discount.

Graphics are awesome! If you’re expecting the old GT, this is not it. Can’t really modify cars like we used too, no as many cars. No Ford GT. It really too soon to say that I love or hate this game. It’s a little hard to navigate the menu. It helps if you read the instructions. But who has time for that. Over all I like it.
