Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the graphics, gameplay, story, and realism of Grand Theft Auto IV Greatest Hits. Many also praised the voice acting and detail in the game. However, some customers found the controls and driving mechanics challenging, and a few noted that some missions became repetitive. Overall, the positive feedback on the core game elements outweighs the criticisms of specific aspects.

    Same ol same, but fun

I will say first that this is a suitable next-gen version of GTA. That does not mean that is any better. In most cases, that just means it has better graphics. It is still the same old GTA, but I guess we love that. The addition of minigames, and dating add some replayability that former titles lacked. The missions are repetitive, but they tie into the storyline. Some missions are a breeze. Others will leave you scratching your head wondering why the developers put it into the game. I will say that the characters are great especially Brucie. If you loved GTA last gen buy this, as it is most of the same. If you are looking for a new GTA experience do not buy it. Rent it. DO NOT LET CHILDREN PLAY, OR WATCH THIS GAME, PLEASE.

GTA IV surpassed my expectations in every way. The first thing to notice is the look. GTA has never been known for its graphics, but GTA IV looks great. The world is immersive - people and objects interact surprisingly realistically (though exaggerated). I can't count the number of times i thought to myself "Did he really just do that?" And these are the little things that are improved. The story is much better and more comprehensive than previous entries. The mechanics are much smoother and better than most games i've played. If you're new to the series you will also be blown away by the sheer expanse of this game. *Not for children

A great game to roam and cause chaos

This game would probably take me years to finish if I played it by the rules, but I just want to roam around, steal cars, shoot people, and explore. The graphics and entertainment are great. I can tell this game will last me for years and I am not even going on the mission, but instead just want to run around, explore, and get into trouble. I definitely recommend you Google for cheat codes. I found a lot of weapons and cheats which I will use to make the game easier and more fun. I found GTA for the PS2 much easier to use. It was easier to drive and run around. The camera angle on GTA for the PS3 is very annoying at default. I know it will take time to get a feel for this game.

most fun I have ever had. I laugh uncontrollably during most of the stuff, especially right when I took it out of the package. Characters are cool, good story line. I have been playing this game for about 3 months now and not done, but something new each time I play it. Good car driving, shooting made easier by auto aim. Sure, I guess it is cheating, but the thing I hate about Halo is the gun aiming. Lets you worry about just beating the mission. It gets hard enough anyways later in the game where the crooks keep coming out of the woodwork. I bought my PS3 just so I could play this game, and it is well worth the money.

This is a great game to start off with. I love Ps3 and think it's going to get hot within the next few years as the price starts to drop. GTA4 has everything you wanted becides planes. It's so percise and they really put time into it. My only thing is I don't know if xbox is better online or not. However Ps3 pleases me and I would buy this game if you can afford me and if your looking into buying this. Just make sure it's ok with your parents for the content of the game. Me being 14 I don't care because my parents know I'm responsible. Hope you enjoy your purchase :D

I have been a GTA fan for years now, and i can tell you, this game is the best by far. Starting from the graphics to the ability to turn the high beams on! i read some comments where people said that it is to dark at night time, well you can turn the high beams on! A well put together game, is hard to find cons in this game. Although the driving could have been a little bit better but thats all. The story is easy to understand, and whats best of all, you can roam around anytime! my only advice: DON'T drink and drive in the game!! lol you will regret it.

    BEST GTA EVER!

This is by far the best GTA game ever. And this game shows the potential of the PS3. This game is said to be better looking on the PS3 than the 360 (cited: IGN, YAHOO). I would definitely recommend this to all GTA fans, and to non-GTA fans as well. You will love this game! This game only runs on the PS3 and the 360, so if you are still stuck on a PS2, go buy a PS3 and buy this game. You won't regret it. It has over 40hours+ of game play, and an online multi-player for both systems (although, LIVE has better multiplayer).

This game is one of the best I've ever played. The Liberty City world they have created is enormous and you could spend a lifetime exploring it. There are so many hidden things and interactive features. Plus, the graphics are amazing. Best 3rd person shooter ever. The only bad part is sometimes the missions get monotonous. You get a little sick of having to sneak into a building and shoot 25 guys, steal a bag of cash, and run out the door. However, there are so many that you do end up getting a variety.

This game is great. I got it when it first came out and I still play it every once in a while. It's a game that does not seem to get old. The online multiplayer really separated it from the old GTA games. The storyline is very interesting, it is like a movie that you are able to play in. The graphics are pretty good, but I feel that they could have been better, but everything else makes up for the lack of graphics. It is a game that is definitely worth buying especially for $39.99 now.

Well, what can I say? GTA IV is essential to everyone's game collection. Me and my friend love to play this game, and infact, every time he comes over to my house he absolutely has to play the game. Both of us are able to sit infront of the television for hours just playing non-stop. The overall gameplay is a breeze and keeps you occupied for hours on end, the new drive-by system and shooting configuration is a huge improvement over San Andreas, and the storyline hooks you with developed characters that make you love or regret certain pieces of the storyline. There are a few things that made the game a little empty though. I feel the storyline was rushed a bit too much. There aren't many "legal" things to keep you entertained and actively playing. The city seems to have a big hole in it as well. Being a New York City fan, I was hoping to see more specifics of the Broker-Dukes [Brooklyn-Queens] area; especially older neighborhoods like Bed-Stuy and Williamsburg; as well as more of suburban Queens. It seemed they chose to develop the Algonquin [Mahnattan] area though; much to my discontent. But, I digress. While Liberty City didn't impress me much, the shooting system did. It was a pain on San Andreas to have to constantly crouch, roll and aim. The NPCs in San Andreas [non-player characters] were so static as well, and did not have dynamic shooting abilities or the nature to take cover. This was definately well improved in IV. Once you start to play the game, you notice the graphics are well improved over San Andreas. The vehicles are much more detailed and accurate to their real life counterparts as well. Many great examples include the Emperor [De Ville], Coquette [Corvette], and Speedo [Astro Van]. The cartoony, off-sync cars are now replaced with accurately spawning, slow-moving traffic. Where cars are parked and where they drive is much improved; deterring the constant eyesore of every other vehicle being a lowrider or a low-rate sports car that was in San Andreas and Vice City. Overall, GTA IV, even being released two years ago, is a look at what video games will present far in the future on late seventh and early eighth generation consoles. Besides the soon expected release of Mafia 2, I truly don't believe that any other game in this genre will surpass GTA IV in quality unless built on the same game engine by the same company.

I was honestly not going to pick up this game because of the over the top language and adult themes. but i got a good deal on it. the story line and writing is amazing. there is a lot of substance and not your typical game. graphics are great and the gameplay is really good as well. Definately not for kids. Not only should kids not play it, they shouldnt be within ear shot or able to see the tv when an adult is playing. If you are an adult and can get over the language and themes, its recommended. If you are a kid or that kind of stuff bothers you, avoid.

Overal this is a fun game, but I got to say the controlling sucks big time!!! Aiming is horrible, movements are jerky; graphics however are the best so far in a GTA game, and it has cool mini games, like pool, darts and so on. The cars are fun to crash, and drive around. The story is good and the characters are ok. I think this game is a bit overrated and it surely does not live up to the hype, but it's a ok game. It's not worth the money though!! I think $30 is a fair price for this game. I'll give it four stars just because I like the series.

now you can run over people on an escalade version SUV and clean the blood stains at the carwash. the graphics are good, the gameplay is a little diffferent because you can now box and beat the hell out of anyguy that talks smack in the street. It does take a while to learn how to drive and to fight but is easy once you get used to it. I got this game when it came out for $60 and still think it was worth that price now that is half price there's no reason to not add to collection.

This is a great game, especially if you are a fan of the series. If your a parent buying this for a kid under 18, be warned that this is full of all kinds of stuff they shouldn't see nor hear. If you take your time and do all the side activities, you can make this game last 50 plus hours, rushing it will make it last closer to 20 hours. Don't go or the collector version unless you like to collect things, nothing special there.

This is a great game, not one I'd recommend for younger children, obviously for ts mature theme, but a blast for older players. Each vehicle handles in it's own unique way and there's no rushed feel to completing the game if you'd rather just drive, or fly, or pilot a boat around for awhile. The graphics are stunning and the story, while dark, is often humorous. If you don't own this game, you should.

This is the best game that has EVER been made. This is such a fantastic game. I cant explain how much I love it. The detail is unbelievable! Sometimes it just looks like you are playing real life. I love all the effects of the cars! Lights, horns, everything. There are so many little details that make the game great! Amazing game! I'm telling you, definitely get this game! You will not be disappointed!

Grand Thefto Auto IV is masterpiece when it comes to being graphically aesthically pleasing. Liberty City is so detailed and feels very realistic. There are few great addition, such as the use of a cell phone, not only to receive calls but to make calls and text messages. The driving is quite difficult to get used to, the cars are not easily maneuverable. There are certain points in the game where it is extremely dark and you cannot see where you are going.

    another GTA game

this is yet another GTA game comparable to past GTA games. the graphics are by far the best of the series and they did take a more realistic approach on driving, shooting than previous games. the game in my opinion was not worth the origional $60 price tag due to lack of diversions out side of the main mission unlike saints row. the game does support trophies which does add some replay value but there seems to be a few things lacking compared to the previous san andreas such as vehicle customization, working out to get bigger and stronger, the need to eat but not over eat. some of the features that made the last game stand out are missing which kind of takes away from the fun of it (working out was not fun, but getting bigger and dual wielding sawed off shot guns and making your car look different were neat aspects) they have dating in the game which is more of a pain than anything, dealing with all the personal relationships in the game to keep everyone happy. i personally found it annoying to have to stop game progress to take everyone out on a "date" so they continue to like you and give you their help/bonuses in the game. all in all they went forward in the series while taking a few steps back, maybe the next GTA game will hit the nail on the head (or score a bullseye for those who play darts in the game). they added dart, pool, and bowling as a diversion, the games are not great but it is something to do outside of the missions and they have trophies associated with them as well. all in all a good game for the $40 right now.

This game is great. It has awesome interaction in the city. The city itself is huge. Online play is amazing if you have good connection. The game itself is pretty cool. Rockstar added new things to it to make it somewhat more realistic. I would say that this is one of the best PS3 games out there right now. I would say it is not recommended for young kids.
