Best in GTA series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GTA V..... Enough said. Honesty, Rockstar has put together the best of the GTA series. They have done this by implementing more natural speak and acting through believeable characters. GTA V really shows how far programming and current systems have come with rendering and graphics, but also the artistry with story telling. The believability and missions in GTA V are by far beyond previous versions of the series. No boring side missions, no pointless agendas, just straight up believeable situations (except for a few mind altering parts). Graphics and audio for such a large game are amazing. No load times betwee areas on the HUGE map. This is due to the LONG download before you even can play the game. With the storyline involving THREE characters (each with their own abilities) and side missions, this game will take a long time to complete everything. If your a GTA fan, or just waiting for the next gen consoles to finally be in your hands, GTA V is worth a play through. GREAT JOB ROCKSTAR!!!

Great experience but for Adults ONLY!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is another great game from Rockstar, but at times it's a bit excessive. The story and characters are well realized but they are overly violent and almost stereotypical past the point of satirical. This is definitely not for kids (and probably some adults). Parent's have NO excuse to buy this game for their kids and then be appalled by the content. This game (and the franchise) has been in the media enough over the years for a parent to know exactly what these games are about. With that the world the game creates is amazing. The detail and random encounters will keep you immersed and wanting to explore every nook and cranny. But at times the dialog and characters can get a bit grating, it feels like everyone is angry, yelling and violence solves all problems. If you can see it for what it truly is, a satire of current America, then you are ahead of the game (pun intended). But if you buy this game simple to shoot, kill and blow things up then you're doing it wrong.

Rockstar delivers yet another masterpiece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grand Theft Auto V hits all the right notes this time around and perfects the little annoyances that made the fourth outing not as epic as it should have been. With three very unique and different protagonists, a massive map and plenty to do outside of the main story mode, GTA V is, by far, one of the best the series has produced. There are a few flaws, sure, but it doesn't distract from the overall greatness of the game or the action that has improved to make for some very memorable moments scattered throughout. On top of that, there's the multiplayer portion that will be included on October 1 that will be sure to be yet another reason you will keep playing this long after you have finished the main story mode or exploring the number of things the map has to offer. I highly recommend this game even to those who feel they have had enough of open-world sandbox games.

The improvements we've been waiting for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only real complaint I have is that I miss being unrealistically resilient to bullets. In GTA V, you have to be quick if the cops start shooting. Head shots take you down in one, body shots are 3 or 4. It makes you more deliberate during missions, but during free time, it's harder to go on half hour shooting sprees. The driving is more realistic, which isn't always good, because I'm not a stunt driver, or even a good driver. But those are mild complaints. All in all, this is easily the best game of the franchise. Every aspect has been greatly improved. The weapons interface was the first thing that really stood out to me. You're able to take cover during shootouts, there's targeting assistance, reticle movement is smoother. The map is San Andreas, but it's so much larger and well detailed, it feels brand new. Heck, I spent half an hour just getting hit by cars...

THE BEST KEEPS GETTING BETTER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you were kind of on the fence about the previous version, GTA IV, then you might not think this version was worth the money, but for diehard GTA fans, GTA V is a must have. Every aspect of the game is markedly better. Add that with the ability to control 3 different characters with 3 different lifestyles and agenda's at anytime, and you have a great game. Some of the missions have a "been there, done that" feeling about them but overall the game is great and that is saying without even having a chance to play online. GTA V has the perfect blend of realistic and outrageous action and enough of a story line to keep just about anyone entertained for a long, long, time.

Best Grand Theft Auto Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is without a doubt the best Grand Theft Auto game to date. The main story is told through switching between three characters in a first for the series. This helps to keep the gameplay fresh and presents some interesting challenges during the heist missions where you must switch between all three characters to meet all of the objectives. The graphics are the best in the series. They are not to the caliber of Call of Duty...but with so much more content in this game you won't mind simpler textures in return for having free-reign over the city. The only negative at this point is that the online portion does not launch until 10/01/2013. For the single-player experience alone this game is a "must have." Once the online portion, Grand Theft Auto Online, launches you may very well find yourself playing this game for well into 2014.

GTA Does It Again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*disclaimer - review incomplete because online isn't available yet* Havent completed the game, but so far, the game is great. Rockstar did a good job of getting back to what makes gta fun. That perfect mix of realism with over the top-ness, and not going too far in either direction. From the cars, to the music, to randomness of the city, gta5 blends all those things together. They took everything that made the other games great and put them in gta 5. The city is huge and alive with so many things to do. technically things: graphics are excellent music is great controls are very responsive; especially driving story is good so far (haven't gotten too far on purpose) i'd highly recommend this game to anyone over 18. The game is too adult for anyone under that. So much so, I would recommend not even playing it if kids are around.

Amazing graphics with better gameplay than GTA4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GTAV is awesome. Well worth the $60. The graphics are amazing and the map starts out completely open so you get to wander and explore the map before taking on any missions. The game has also fixed a lot of the annoying gameplay mechanics of GTA4 such as having to restart a mission all the way across the map from the very beginning every time. Now there are auto-save checkpoints based on progress. It also allows you to skip a mission if you've failed it 3 times in a row. The multiplayer GTA online has been pretty fun so far as well. The only thing is playing with random people can be competitive rather than people trying to work together to solve a mission. That should come as no surprise somewhat, but still it would be nice to be able to more easily find players who want to cooperate vs just who gets things done faster...

Excellent story, gameplay, soundtrack and graphics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great game, I'd say 4.5 out of 5. I've been playing GTA since the very first one came out, so I have seen how it has evolved over time. If you like violent no holds-barred action with great graphics, story and soundtrack, then this is the game for you. The only downside is that if you're used to this sort of game or GTA altogether, the foul language and violence begins to become so-so, dull in other words. Other than that, awesome I'd say and what I expected.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game, but not any one under 18 maybe even 21. I let my kids play GTA's older games, but this one is way over the top with the n word and other profanity. Their is also way more nudity, so parents be careful this is not a game for a minor but it is a really cool game. I got this game for my 12 year old daughter, but once I checked it out I could not let her have it, play it, or anything. So I kept it and let her pick any other gift at the same value, I felt very bad. Like I said before she has played the earlier versions and not much problems the language wasn't really anything she hadn't heard before. This one is just to hardcore they really went over the top with this one I am a little disapointed. It is a good game for an adult.

A fine direction for the series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've played GTA III, Vice City, IV and now V. I didn't really have a problem playing IV though various reviewers have aired their grievances. Going back to play IV now, after experiencing V, I would likely take issue with the controls, the forced social relationship mechanics (taking your cousin bowling etc.) and the lack of variation in the missions. GTA V answers all of these and returns to the colorful and lighter hearted style of San Andres and Vice City and is well worth the praise is is receiving online. If you have the patience, it may well be worth (eventual?) PC release, or game of the year addition that will presumably include future DLC releases. The game has multi-player functionality, but it has not been initiated at the time of this review.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's no wonder this game consistently received 10/10 reviews. A must have for any GTA fan!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest title in the GTA series brings you back to Los Santos, where you'll have a chance to play as not 1, but 3 different players. You'll jump between Michael, Trevor, and Franklin and wage war against the FIB, Merryweather, and rival gangs in a bid to take over Los Santos. GTA online is also a blast!

Excellent open world game with minor flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GTAV is an impressive conclusion to this generation's video game cycle as it takes full advantage of the console hardware on PS3/Xbox 360 to deliver an expansive and detailed return to Los Santos, CA. You play as three characters--Michael, Franklin and Trevor--in their attempt to inflict maximum violence on the residents of Blaine County through a story progression system similar to previous efforts in the GTA series. In addition, you get to partake in more elaborate heist missions that take a coordinated effort between all three characters and some additional NPCs you recruit into your crew. Rockstar, the game's developer, packs plenty of activities to do and sights to see in this updated version of Los Santos, first seen back in GTA San Andreas. You can play golf, tennis, go basejumping, hunt animals and do much more when not on active missions. The world runs the gamut from downtown city life to secluded rural backwater to spectacular mountaintop views. If you have played GTA before the controls are similar, but the shooting can be a bit awkward to get used to as it is not as refined as other recent games like Tomb Raider or The Last of Us. GTAV is rated M for Mature for a reason as the story missions are extremely violent and laced with profanity. The protagonists have few qualms about killing people in cold-blood though if you cause to much mayhem the police will come after you and they are no pushovers. In summary, GTAV is one of the best open world games ever and is a satisfactory conclusion to this console generation just as the new consoles are coming this fall.

best video game i ever played
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can i say i bought this on launch day and havn't been able to put it down since, they've ironed out all the annoying things about past GTA titles like having to goto the safe house to save your game and having to replay missions you've allready completed again. Having 3 characters that you can switch between adds a new dimension to the game that works really well, and there are other cool things like losing the cops makes more sense i.e if you hide properly they don't find you. Some of the missions are a little on the easy side so i'd give it like 9.8/10 overall. And with the online play coming next week maybe that would be an even 10. Go buy it you won't be sorry you did :-)

A great addition to the GTA collection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you read reviews of this game and come across anyone who slams it for violence and profanity, then I question what they were doing playing this game in the first place. The GTA series is WELL known for letting people blow off steam by doing things which they would never contemplate doing in real life. Apart from the sandbox fun to be had, the story is great and allows you to switch characters if you want to change things up. It's beautiful to look at and is very entertaining due to character interaction, the radio stations, and just listening to random people spout off about anything and everything. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys the previous games in the series!

The Best GTA Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rockstar knocked this GTA out of the park. Being an avid fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, I was supremely disappointed at GTA IV. It hardly kept me engaged, the scenery was dark, the acting was over-the-top, and the game felt clunky. But GTA V is not only the opposite of all these things, but the brand reinvented. Playing as three separate protagonists (debatable) keeps the story moving and fresh. The scenery is unimaginable. The world is incredibly massive. And the voice acting is complex, captivating, and absolutely superb. Rockstar killed it, stole its car away and robbed the nearest bank (which just happened to make them more than $1 billion in three days). Brilliant.
