What takes away the 1 star from being a 5 star game is the fact that it's pretty much the same game you played on the Xbox 360 or PS3, but it's not to say that jumping to PS4/Xbox One doesn't have its advantages. With the game running on better hardware, the game plays much smoother and up to 30 players online at once! Originally, the PS3 and 360 versions were only capable of having up to 16 to play with at once. In addition, because it's on better hardware, the game has much denser traffic as well. If you're still playing on 360/PS3 and have no intention to upgrade to a new console, by all means, stick with it if you want, but if you have the extra money or haven't played GTA V yet, now's the time!

If you have played Grand Theft Auto V or own it on the previous generation than this is pretty much the same game, only now you get better visuals, First-Person mode, and new cars and guns! So if that interests you it might be worth upgrading to the PS4 version. Now if you haven't play GTA V before, read on! Grand Theft Auto V is loads of fun! You have a huge open world that is alive with people, animals, and a few events to explore. The story mode rotates around the lives of 3 characters in mostly connected events. Each character has their own special abilities that you can use both in and out of missions. You have a lot of clothes to pick from to dress up your characters how you like. One that is frustrating is when you switch to another character for awhile then switch back to who you were previously playing as, they will change their clothes because their life continues while you are not playing as them. This is a cool feature that brings more life to the game but like I said is also frustrating to have to change them back into my favorite outfit for them each time. The RPG elements are back from GTA: San Andreas! They are just a little different this time around. None of your stats decrease over time now and kept it to the elements that affect gameplay so you have fewer stats to manage. If you want to get your stats up quick, there are a few ways to exploit some of them. When it comes to money in the story mode don't expect a lot until the end of the game. If you are short on cash though you can rob a few convenience stores around the map or if you are lucky you might come across a random armored truck to rob. There is a stock market you can invest your money in if you want to try your luck to earn extra cash. Some quick things are that vehicles and weapons are modifiable, you can get haircuts and tattoos, and you can purchase properties and vehicles too. One thing I want to mention is that this game is much more grounded in realism than previous GTAs. You are no longer a bullet sponge so take cover when in firefights! A few smaller things to talk about are that the people in the world act more like real people. When you do something wrong someone will often take out their phone and call the cops on you, such as stealing a car or killing someone. They will also take out their phones and take photos/videos of what crazy thing is happening around them. One of my favorite random things that happened is when I was running by a cafe and some hipster said something to me that I didn't appreciate. I confronted them and we exchanged some words. They didn't approve of what I was saying and took out their phone and called the cops on me which angered me and I knocked them out before attempting to evade the police. Another one is where the same thing happened but it was a woman and a man standing together. I insulted the woman and the man standing next to her took offense and tried to attack me. These small things in the game make the game feel real and make exploring so much more fun! One thing I enjoy doing when I don't want to be surrounded by chaos in the game is to enter First-Person mode and go bicycling in the hills. It is beautiful and relaxing but watch out for cougars lurking in the bushes. Also cycling down Mount Chiliad in FP mode is a fun and intense experience. To sum it up, the world is huge, fun, and full of many activities to do! Also the online mode is great! Causing chaos or completing heist is lots of crazy fun with your friends. There are also many exclusive things only available to the online mode so I suggest checking it out!

Not for children and not for those easily offended. Everything about this games screams polish and quality. A huge immense open world filled with places to explore, without any cut and paste reused assets. Great music and voice acting. The three protagonist switching is ingenious. While San Andreas is my favorite GTA story, this one wins with the total package. It is my new favorite game.

This was my first foray into GTA. Gameplay wise this was really fun, though I wished they had the licensing to use real cars. Based in a fictional world modeled after LA, it was sort of fun to speed through what normally would be traffic and smog filled southern california. The story follows 3 people and is quite fun. There's a lot to do but I powered through mostly the story. Single player was very good and highly recommended. However, I do deduct one star for GTA online, I came to the game a bit late, and it was near impossible to do anything with a pea shooter while others machine gunned me down. This led to a trade in and low replay value after the main story was done.

You can never go wrong with a GTA, they are always action packed. I would never recommend this game for sensitive children, coddled or shielded children, or any person that is easily susceptible to suggestion and would act out what they see. Be a responsible parent and know what your child is capable of handling before buying. Don't blame the game companies for your kids actions.

I loved this game it was super good. The fact that they listened to gamers and gave an option to play first and third person in a click of a button made the game 100% better than all of the previous games. The storyline was awesome and I love how all the characters were all somehow connected together. The multiplayer is ridiculously fun. Buy this game it's worth it!

Great graphics easy game play and lots of fun missions to complete

this is one of the best games for the PS4 (in my opinion) The graphics are good and the map is really big. You can find many things to do within the game. The only thing bad is the cursing if you play around younger people i recommend lowering the volume or using a headset. Other than that this is a game you can entertain yourself with for hours.

If you missed playing GTA 5 on the previous generation of consoles, then you're in a treat for picking up this generation's version as it refines not only the graphics but also adds a great storyline and everything is just a technological marvel in its own right - I highly recommend this videogame!

This is a great open world game with a large and solid cast and a good story. *LOTS* of things to do in this game, including collecting and modifying cars, buying and selling properties, playing the stock market, and flying aircraft. That's before you even touch GTA Online, which gets insane with lots of other people.

I originally purchased this game at launch for the XB360. When I got a PS4, I knew I had to purchase it again. The graphics are amazing but more important, the game play still feels fresh with new content being added all the time. For a person new to this title or those who are veterans, it will not disappoint.

If you enjoy GTA V or have never played a GTA before, GTA V for the PS4 is by far the best in series. Beautiful graphics, solid frame rate and a pretty good story. Best of all are the heist missions where you really feel like a crew pulling off daring and amazing robberies. Check this game out!

As a mom I find it very violent but it's my son and his teen friends that love all the action in this typical video game. I have to say that even my son said he was surprised at some of the content. I would probably not recommend this game but if you asked the teens you would get a different response.

the creativity is limitless while playing online. you know this game is the greatest when it has been new release price since launch. the game has recently gone on sale after being priced for $60 since 2013. and the sales are still vibrant. offline, the story is great like all other GTAs

As a big fan of the GTA franchise, I had to pick up GTA V the moment it was announced for sale. The story mode offline is great. The missions are fun and well made. However, the online mode is unreal. Very fun heists, missions and other game modes to keep you entertained for 4,000 hours.

The sheer fun of just wondering around in an world where consequences are not that important is something everyone with a stressful job should expirience. The storis are great, and in the ps4 the game looks amazing. Go Get Yourself This Amazing Game If You Haven't Already. You won't regret it.

If you're a fan of this series you should get this game. It's detail is tremendous and the online play with friends is great. Best Buy runs sales on games pretty frequently so I managed to get it $20 cheaper than any other place I could have gotten it. Great game for a great deal!

I think its the best GTA game to date heres why: on ps4 graphics are amazing smooth and imersive, game play and control when it comes to driving and shooting is easy and fun, the franchise story wise new way to intuduce story and having to play different characters its cool worth the buy

Grand Theft Auto came a long way. The fact that they're constantly updating this games never gets old. The online play is just superb. I can play with friends and do all sort of missions. Makes it interesting and honestly prolongs the life of the gameplay.
