I'm not a big GTA fan, and I couldn't get into GTA IV at all. But having three different characters to switch to makes it more interesting. It's so cool how they carry on their normal life when you play as one of the others and don't just stand where you leave them. So far the story is great, and has provided many laughs and cheers. Some of the side missions are a little bland, but not the worst I've seen in an open world game. Graphics are nice at times, and up close they can be bland, but what more can you expect out of a system so old. I installed the play disc onto a thumb drive and the install disc onto my hard drive in order to get smooth play. Please do not let your kids play this, because there is a lot of swearing and some nudity and lots of violence.

My son loves playing this game the graphics are really good and love the music I don't care for the language and the ___ but it par for this type of game. I enjoy playing the racing tracks but on some of them the violence is not ok. Not appropriate for young children but several of my friends let their children play it

I remember playing GTA Vice City about 12 years ago and absolutely loving it back then. Then GTA IV came out and I loved that immediately, but this new GTA destroys both those not only in the graphics department, but gameplay, storyline, and the ability to play 3 different characters. That has completely changed the game, being able to switch back and forth between any characters at any point of the game.
I love all three of their stories come together and you start doing missions with all 3 of them on a team, thought GTA would never accomplish a feat like that and they pulled it off wonderfully. This game is a must own for people who love the freedom of doing missions, or just driving and flying around the city and exploring the HUGE map.

Grand Theft Auto V is not only a preposterously enjoyable video game, but also an intelligent and sharp-tongued satire of contemporary America. It represents a refinement of everything that GTA IV brought to the table five years ago. It’s technically more accomplished in every conceivable way, but it’s also tremendously ambitious in its own right. No other world in video games comes close to this in size or scope, and there is sharp intelligence behind its sense of humour and gift for mayhem. It tells a compelling, unpredictable, and provocative story without ever letting it get in the way of your own self-directed adventures through San Andreas.
It is one of the very best video games ever made.

GTA 5 is already an enormous game, but splitting its protagonist duties between three different characters makes it feel even bigger. Besides the narrative, it’s meant to make gameplay more realistic. Rather than having Niko Bellic or CJ be some super soldier who can shoot, drive, fly and fight like a pro, Franklin, Michael and Trevor all have their unique skill sets. Franklin is a driving ace and can slow down time while in a car to make tight turns or dodge traffic. Michael is quite a marksman, and he can also slow time, but only in combat, which allows him to line up headshots with ease. Trevor is a brawler who can both shoot and fight and fly very well, and I think he has the best all around stats.

I have been waiting for this game for a while now and I was worried that it wasn't go to be nearly as amazing as I imagined. As soon as I played the first mission I was blown away. The graphics are the best I have seen on any console. The story is fun and engaging. The voice acting is epic. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the game. The one word of advice I have is prepare your life accordingly when you first get the game. You must install an 8gb file to your xbox before you can play, so if you don't have enough space you might want to clear some ahead of time. It doesn't take that long to install but it seems like it takes forever, imagine counting seconds in front of a microwave.

Rockstar has delivered a game that uses many refined features from previous games. The result is a very well developed game that uses the best interactions and story telling features. Set in an environment derived from locations in California, GTA V provides a playground that spans Los Angeles, the California Coast, the Redwoods, and the Mojave desert. You'll pay three different characters, each with their own personality, which gives Rockstar the versatility in telling stories that are unique, varied, and believable because it isn't just one character that carries the burden of telling the story. There will be many hours of gameplay in this title, which delivers value in spades.

This game improves on the standard that was set by GTA4. Los Santos and the surrounding areas are even more amazing than Liberty City. While the trio of protagonists are not that easy to root for they are all have an Interesting story to tell. Trevor is the standout character of the game just for the over the top things that he says and does. While the shooting is still not the best, flying around is awesome. The inclusion of underwater environments makes for a third layer of awesomeness to explore. All in all, this is probably the game of the year simply due to the sheer volume of things you can do, and that does not even include GTA Online, which is not even out yet.

As a longtime fan of the GTA series, this game stepped it up for part 5. The open world is so much more expansive, it really lets you experience some new things never before able to in this series. Also the ability to play the game as three main characters is great because you never feel too bored with one guy. They each have different strengths, abilities, and personalities which ad some diversity to the game. Not to mention I've never seen a playable character like Trevor (my personal fav). Only bad thing about this game is that it has managed to kill all productivity in my life. I am consumed with this game for hours and hours everytime I play, which isn't bad.

I'll make this short and sweet, GTA5 is an amazing leap from GTA4 while keeping the same fun and fixing most of the small issues that bugged me in GTA4.
Rockstar has refined every detail of this game; the shooting mechanics are better, driving is tighter, radio & gun selection is easier and intuitive.
The story has also expanded from 1 to 3 key playable characters that interact with each other in exciting way. You can also switch between characters to complete different missions, play different viewpoints in regular missions, & use new character abilities.
GTA5 increases the bar for what a video game should be and is one of the best games I have ever played.

Awesome installment to GTA series. I'm a huge fan of "Open World" games like this, where the player can choose to directly follow the main storyline, or explore the world at their leisure to find other interesting missions/storylines. This aspect, along with the graphics, music/score, and missions/storyline make this game the perfect send-off of the previous generation of consoles (XBOX 360, PS3), and should make every gamer excited about what's next when it comes to the next generation consoles (XBOX One, PS4). Definitely one of my favorite games up to this point (next to Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption) in terms of scale, gameplay, and guilty entertainment...

Everyone's been talking about it. Don't even think about it. Just get it. It will keep you entertained long enough to satisfy the price. The story is better than any GTA. It is a LA Noire feel to it. It's challenging enough, but the greatest part about it is the freedom to do whatever you want. Oh, and Rockstar always makes cheats for their games, so look it up. The graphics are pretty awesome, but I could see it being better on my computer. The audio is good enough, though the radio stations are nothing special. If you liked the old ones or if you like sandbox games, you will love it. That is all

This is quite simply the best game of they year. In fact, this will quite probably be the best game of the next 2 years once GTA Online gets up and running.
Aside from the above mentioned Online mode missing at launch, and possibly the not so family friendly nature of this game, I can't find another thing to complain about. The story is compelling, the characters have a unexpected depth not found in previous editions of the series, all the core gameplay mechanics are carried over from before yet refined even further. Great job Rockstar at taking something that worked so well and improving on it!

Rockstar you did it again.
I have played all the GTA games and this one is the best and most complete game of the series. At the beginning I was reluctant to the fact of playing with three characters, but fortunately the storyline is great and the gameplay is challenging enough to keep you playing even if you are not a hardcore gamer. Also the map is huge and there are tons of activities to do. You can customize almost everything of your characters and cars.
The game loads fast and the graphics are ok, but I hope there is going to be an updated version for the next-gen consoles (PS4/XboxOne).

I'm not usually a fan of open world games. I don't just like to drive around looking for things to do. I like a story, structure, and fun gameplay. This has all three. The shooting and driving mechanics are so much better than previous versions of this game. I think that's why I quit those games early. those 2 flaws annoyed the crust out of me. Bouncing between characters when I'm bored with one and can jump to another is an excellent feature. Between the language, violence, nudity, etc, I would hope some parents have sense not to get this for their kid. 17, yes. 15, maybe. 13 and under, no.

At 50% completion I am anticipating an ending far better and bigger than any GTA in the past. From driving to shooting to spending money everything has improved in Rockstars latest masterpiece. The map is large enough to get lost in and with enhanced graphics it is easy to find yourself doing things such as staring at the moon or stars that you would not usually care to do in other games. From playing GTA IV off and on to the release of GTA V the hours spent playing this game heavily outweigh the price of this game. Basically I'm not even worrying about GTA VI yet... this makes me happy.

I enjoy the open world environment in GTAV. I've only discovered a sliver of it, but it has far more to offer than I imagined. In past GTA games, I would grow tired of the missions. This was not a big deal because I was just fine driving around and creating my own adventures. Well, V offers a more engaging storyline and mission structure. Also, there is the ability to switch between characters keeping things more interesting and basically eliminating the lengthy commutes back to wherever you're needing to go. I'm a fan of most games by Rockstar, but this is my favorite one so far.
