Honestly the only problem I have is with the graphics in some spots, but that's to be expected when a game is this big. The gameplay is great, the story it's thrilling, the way you progress through it is fun and stays fresh, and the voice acting is superb. Most people don't care about the last one, but when a game has so much talking, it's a must.
Not to rain on the parades of early teens everywhere, but this game is not for them. It has actual nudity in this iteration (not just bikinis), tons of swearing and pretty intense violence. Overall a 4.99 out of 5

Firstly, the storyline is fantastic. Some may say that it's fairly predictable, but the dialogue and plot twists are what make this game extremely unique. And even the the time in between missions is hilarious with the infamous GTA radio commercials. Driving has been greatly improved, and that goes the same way with flying. Online play is hilarious, addictive, and while the wait and initial issues were annoying, there's tons to do alone or with a party of friends. No regrets in this purchase
BUT BE WARNED: this game is NOT, I say again, NOT FOR KIDS!!!!!

I was really looking forward to this game as I have preordered all the main ones in the series. I mostly bought it for online but am still waiting on that and more information on it as well. The single player however is worth the purchase alone and I think they honestly could have gotten away with selling the multiplayer seperately. Obviously this game is for mature audiences but anyone who enjoys open world games will most likely enjoy this. Pretty much everything is improved across the board from the last entry, so if you liked that you will love this.

By far the best GTA so far

First off, this is by far the most adult-oriented and explicit (both visually and audibly) game of the franchise. Perhaps that is be design seeing as how those of us who have literally grown up playing these games are now well into adulthood and can stomach the content. But if you are a parent and your kid is asking you for this game, you would be well advised to take into consideration the sheer level of violence and adult themes (nudity, drugs, etc.) that are prevalent in this game before making a buying decision.
With that said, this game is amazing. An in-game world bigger than just about anything ever put out and there is always something going on or something to do. For the person who is mission and storyline-driven, this game has one of the best collection of missions and storylines and dialog of any GTA game ever. And if you are the type of person who just enjoys stealing a car and cruising while listening to the in-game radio stations, you won't be disappointed either.
Not only can you play the main storyline missions and the side missions that are presented by the numerous side characters throughout Los Santos, but there are a surprising number of mini games available. Street and off-road racing, darts, tennis, and golf to name a few. And these aren't just barely-there games but actual quality ways to lose several more hours of your time in this world.
The characters in GTA V (for the first time ever you have three main characters who you will take control of throughout the game and be able to switch freely between them) are extremely well crafted and have rich history and personalities that set them apart and make them unique not only among their fellow primary protagonists but among the rest of the characters littered throughout the Los Santos landscape. The interactions between the main characters and also the dialog between them and their own friends, lieutenants, and acquaintances will often times leave you in stitches. It will be natural to gravitate towards a favored character, but all of them do bring something fun and different to the table.
As a past hardcore gamer now turned part-timer due to time, work, and family constraints, GTA V was one of perhaps only 2-3 games that were absolutely "must buys" for me.
If you have ever played or enjoyed a GTA game in the past, this should be an absolute no-brainer for you.

I played every GTA and nothing ..compares to this.
I can't believe we are at the end of the current gen game console life cycle when games like this can look and play this good.
Everything works. A story that is not only what GTA has always wanted to tell but also fits the way people have always played it. It’s a remarkable achievement, a peerless marriage of world design, storytelling and mechanics that raises the bar on a series that just keeps getting better and better.
Don't miss out on what will most likely be the best game of 2013.

The new Grand Theft Auto title is the best release in the franchise yet! Rockstar Studios did not hold anything back! The story is incredibly long, and I really liked the addition of multiple playable characters. The in-game car options are incredible! They look utterly realistic and each have their own driving style. The game makes fun of every aspect of American culture, though sometimes in a tasteless manner. The game definitely lives up to the Grand Theft Auto name, with plenty of violence, swearing, and suggestive scenes/references.

I am not a huge GTA fan, but this game is truly a 10/10. This game has an unbelievable amount of content. It is so much fun. I love buying properties and upgrading cars. The heists are so awesome. I hope they release more in DLC. Hopefully there will end up being a lot when they come to the online portion. For GTA fans or even people new to GTA this game is a must have. The value is really great because there is so much content.

Grand Theft Auto V is easily in the running for game of the year. Great story, great game play mechanics, great sound, and just plain fun. I made sure I completed the whole main story because I wanted to know what happened next. The only down side to this game was the online had problems when the game first released, but now most of that has been fixed. Overall, GTA V is a great game any mature adult should own. But it is most definitely not for kids, so any parent that buys this game for their child is doing so at their own risk.

GTAV is one of the most well-made games I've ever played. The story is interesting, long and well thought-out. The characters are different and interesting. The missions are diverse and a lot of fun. While different from previous games because you're not dealing with all the typical gangs as in past games, this departure is actually refreshing. The shooting, which is something they're always looking to improve is now much easier besides a glitch or two in choosing the wrong person to aim at. All in all, I definitely recommend it.

When GTA IV came out, with all of it's beauty and detailed cityscapes, it was not the best overall. It made some major progress in gameplay mechanics, but in regards to relatable characters, size of the game world, and enjoyable storyline, it fell short of GTA: San Andreas. Where GTA: SA bit off more than it could chew, and GTA IV focused on some aspects and feel short of others, GTA V feels like the happy medium, with some major innovations.
Regarding the pros, the protagonists are very compelling, although their antagonists are bland, random, and feel like third-string villains. Naturally, this being a GTA game, there are no "good" or "bad" guys, just folks that wander all over the grey spectrum of morality. San Andreas has been pared down from the overly massive local in GTA: SA to a more manageable map, yet it is still incredibly vast and fun to explore. Swimming has been wonderfully upgraded to full-on diving, the special abilities add a good deal of functionality, and customizing weapons and cars has been added.
The cons are actually typical of a GTA game. The storyline is all over the place; I'm about halfway through and I can't pick up on a unified story or purpose, although it had a strong beginning. There aren't too many antagonists (who somehow become employers) to keep track of, but it feels like too many chefs in the kitchen. The biggest frustration is how much easier it is to get dead. Whereas Niko, CJ, and the other protagonists felt able to withstand some serious punishment, Franklin, Michael, and even Trevor, with his ability to take less damage and deal more, feel like paper tigers when it hits the fan. However, this does add more challenge to the game, so many will prefer this and consider it a pro.
I won't go over the rare bugs or missing GTA Online functionality, since those will get patched and added in shortly after the release. This game is an absolute blast. I have it for the 360 since there is no PC version (yet), and I was majorly surprised by how well it ran and how good it looked. I'm sure the PS3 version has better LOD, with similar performance. Pick it up for either, or if you feel like holding out until a PC version is released, do that, but get it one way or another.

The characters are unique. I thought three characters would take away from the story, but it really adds to it. Three perspectives of the same situation and three very different people. Very believable and "real." Story is fantastic. Most of the gameplay is great. Classic GTA. Accurately flying is difficult though. Graphics are very good for an open world game like this, but aren't quite amazing. I wish the radio stations were better too. And Rockstar has not released the iFruit app for Android phones, making Chop the dog useless.

This is the definitive game for any action fan. THe ability to switch between characters at any time keeps the story and the gameplay fresh. The cars handling is much improved as well as the graphics. I find myself singing "Higher Love" along with the ingame radio. I have never laughed as hard at any game's humor as much as GTA V.
With the mature content, I would not let anyone under 20 play this game. Anyone under that age in my experience is too immature and will emulate the behavior shown in game, such as frequent swearing.

Absolutely amazing game! Has a pretty awesome story line not to mention some pretty awesome music. There are a few bugs and glitches in this game, but considering how new it is I'm very certain they will be worked out. There is a lot to do as well, ranging from story missions to "Strangers and Freaks" as well as random events; not to mention the new Online mode which adds even more stuff to do! Totally worth the buy!

Grand Theft Auto V is the sequel to one of the best franchises of games... for adults, that is. Great storyline, character development, voice acting, music -- you name it, it's there. There is, however, a lot of violence, adult themes, and profanity, similar to any blockbuster Rated R movie or best selling novel (Shades of Gray, anyone?). These attributes are what make it very entertaining. Just be sure to keep it away from young children. Video games are not just for kids anymore and should be treated as such.

Well this review really comes through my two sons (16 and 13) who have been playing it since it came in via pre-order on the day it came out. They love the game. The oldest has been into the campaign level play, switching between characters and the overall story line.
Both boys have like how much better the driving is, how you can now fly and even how much fun it was to jump on the jet ski and go.
The only draw back for my oldest is they delayed online play for a few weeks with no real explaniation for why.
