Really enjoyed this movie well written and really cool action sequences

The BR DVD is shot beautifully and must be even better in 3D. Sandra Bullock really made this movie (in terms of acting) and I believe carried the film. George Clooney is fine but not exceptional. I heard somewhere that the plot had "reality holes" in it but if true, I would think most people won't notice. And if you're astute enough to catch those "untruths", there's enough there for you to suspend with some reality. The ending was somewhat predictable, especially if you've been watching movies for much of your life. There is some symbolism throughout the movie (and ending) and that made it somewhat interesting to see and think about. The movie itself is a little shorter than other current movies. One thing I suggest - take a look at the dvd extras. They will help you make sense of some of the things that Sandra Bullock does in the movie. This is certainly a big-screen movie. You COULD wait for it to arrive on cable but then you wouldn't get the extras. And it really shines on Blu-ray. Overall, an entertaining movie and worth the watch.

I like the realism of the space. No sound, etc. Fun for space nerds.

My wife and I just recently purchased a new 4K television that has 3D capabilities. Our Bluray player has had this function for several years, but it was never a feature I cared for. Once we got the new television I realized we could finally try out a 3D movie at home. I typically do not pay to see the 3D versions of movies at the theater, but Gravity was one of the few I felt truly needed that experience. I decided this would be the perfect movie to finally purchase with the 3D feature and I was not disappointed. The 3D result of Gravity on the new 4K TV, with that of the performance of the Bluray player, looked great. The movie is really good in standard 2D, but the 3D quality of this movie on a home setup was beyond my expectations. Great movie, and great 3D for home use.

There's never been a film like this before. Gravity is the best pure speculative fiction film of the last decade and, with Gravity, director Alfonso Cuarón has invented successfully new cinema semiotics: filmmakers and film critics alike will have no choice but to invent new words to describe the ways in which Cuarón moves the camera. Cuarón's masterpiece of storytelling advances film as art in a way that even James Cameron's Avatar did not..., with real, human stakes: life and death has never been so close, nor separated by so fine a line. Bullock is a revelation, displaying acting chops only hinted at by her Oscar win. Easily the best film of 2013; no other director working today has also invented a new filmmaking syntax. A must-see.

Very suspenseful. Clooney was a hoot. Great images and sound.

Thr fx are top notch, Sandra is good as usual, and the plot I'd decent.

This movie looks really good in 3d especially when the action part.

Gravity features some of the most incredible visuals I've ever seen. The opening shot & the space debris chain reaction scenes are the highlights. Even without the 3D, the Blu Ray does them justice. The score & sound effects are also top notch & gives off the quiet of space & the intensity of the situation. The disc is a great way to show off your TV & sound system. Bullock really carries the movie as the inexperienced engineer while Clooney is solid as the veteran spacewalker. Bullock shows the pain & fear her Ryan Stone has to go through. The story is simple so don't expect a ton of twists or complex character arcs. It's all about the will to survive and to find a way back home. There are a lot of special features that show how much work Director Alfonso Cuaron and his crew did into getting the Zero G effects. It was interesting to find out what was real & what was CGI/BlueScreen. There was also a feature devoted to the real problem of space debris collisions. I highly recommend this.

Realistic space travel made scary, and absolutely made for 3D.

Good movie I would recommend watching this one if you have the time.

Gravity is a groundbreaking film in its use of 3D,camara work and effects Plus very strong acting from Sandra Bullock in what is for most of the film a one person show.While the plot is thin,it does not really need a lot of story.The simple plot is enough.Now this is a film that really needs to be seen on a big IMAX screen in 3D which I did when it was in theaters.For the home release,you can't really reproduce a IMAX experience and while I have this 3D combo pack,I only checked out the 2D version.It looks amazing and I'm sure the 3D will be stellar.This set also includes some nice bonus features and a short film that ties-in to the film. I would highly recommend this release.It's easy to see why the film won all those tech Oscars and why Alfonso Cuarón won best director.

There are a lot of people out there that condemn Gravity for its simple plot. While this is true, I for one, don't believe this film was created with the intent of being a puzzling, mind-bending, film. No, I believe the director was intent on creating an intense, pulse-pounding, visual thrill ride. Because that's exactly what this film is. When I saw Gravity in 3D IMAX, I was completely immersed. To me, seeing this movie was an "experience." I forgot I was simply watching a movie. Instead, I felt as if I was a part of the movie. A bystander thrown through an adrenaline fueled gauntlet alongside Sandra Bullock. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. I never once checked my watch, felt dissident or remembered I was actually watching a movie. To me, these are all qualities of a great film. I'm happy to say that this film translated extremely well onto Blu-Ray. If you have a quality home entertainment center, I firmly believe you too will encounter a similar experience.

This is a good movie. Little slow in parts, but good overall.

I was expecting "Castaway in space" but was pleasantly surprised. This is a well though out, well scripted, fantastically directed and acted, drop dead gorgeous movie. Clooney and Bullock deliver stellar performances. It will keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole movie. Most of the space stuff is well done and true to life....the only thing that was totally not gonna happen was attempting to reach the ISS from Hubble's orbit...in real life even the Shuttle with an entire load of fuel in the external tank could not make that rendezvous. However granting a little poetic license to make the story work, does not detract from the movie. Finally to quote George Clooney 's Character Matt Stone "You can't beat the view".
