    Great 3D movie

I saw this movie on the Ultra Screen in 3D at the theater and couldn't wait for it to come out at the stores. The movie has a very good story line along with making you feel like you're in outer space, especiaaly with the 3D cinema. Sandra Bullock did a great job in her performance. I'll bet she had a tough time practicing the routine of being in the no gravity sequences. I was hoping for George Clooney to be saved as well as seeing Sandra arriving back on earth with a "WELCOME BACK" finale. Oh well, you can't have everything. Therefore one must draw their own conclusions on how her arrival went with her family, friends, and staff.

I went in seeing this movie with already high expectations from the reviews and word-of-mouth buzz I had been hearing while the film was in production the past couple years. It was well worth the wait and the 3D was SUPER INTENSE due to how real they presented the space setting! I literally got dizzy a couple times feeling like I was floating among the starswith Sandra and George during the breathtaking opening scene...and it doesn't let up. It goes from beautiful cinematography to heart-stopping action to the most intimate of moments over the course of the film and I left exhausted...but it was worth the roller coaster!

Gravity is an amazing movie that is set in outer space. The visual effects are so good that you'll feel like you're actually up in space with them. The first person views really bring you into the movie and make you feel what the characters feel. Sandra Bullock is an excellent actress in general, but she really outdid herself in this movie. She, being the only actor besides George Clooney, really kept the movie going. To me there were no boring parts, but this movie has a bit of everything. Suspense, artistry, drama, action, and parts that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I completely recommend this movie.

This was not a long movie. It got right to the good stuff and was worth watching. I'd watch again down the road, but it's one of those movies that you would not want to watch again right away. Probably because you are so interested to see what happens at the end, all from the beginning. And once you know, eh, your good for awhile. My Brother saw it in the theater. I bought this 3D so I can watch in my home for the 1st time, knowing and hearing it was a great movie. He didn't get a chance to watch in 3D in the theater. And he wishes he had. So I'm sure he will want to watch again on my 3D TV. I'm happy with this purchase.

I am not a film critic; like most people, I do not watch a film to delve into some esoteric realm and suppose the filmmaker's intent. I usually watch films as a diversion from banality. Sometimes my time spent is worthwhile, sometimes it is just time spent. What can I say, I either like the film, or I don't. And what does it matter: nothing. After all, "all art is useless." This film is just spectacular and really does justify the 3D price. Overall, this is a film not to be missed.

Blend modern technology, a great cast, the definite possibility that it could happen, good plot twists, and fantastic film work and you have the crux of this feature. This just keeps maintaining and building tension from the start, has a good back story, and prompts you to think at times what you would do in the same situation. Fantastic acting from the main characters provides a very believable story and will have you going back more than once to see what you may have missed. Great to see in the theater it still looks remarkable on the home screen as well. A worthy investment for your collection.

An good movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat is something to behold these days. It veers off from credible, so be prepared to be forgiving in your attempt to find 'reality' in this flick. Also, while it's received enormous accolades for it's compelling 3D, I did not find it so. I have extraordinary equipment from a top of the line 4K display, to an Oppo blu-ray to Audioquest Vodka cables and a top of the line Panamax. There is almost NO POP, so don't be surprised. There is excellent depth, however, and it does lend to the enjoyment of the presentation, especially over the 2D release. Recommended.

Gravity is at its core a survival story that takes place in harsh environments. It's also an emotional journey that the main character, played by Sandra Bullock, must endure to survive. Bullock's performance requires her to reach the depths of terror & despair to the peaks of hope & drive to survive. Besides the acting, the visuals are top notch. There are beautiful views of the earth from space, horrific explosions with much debris, & weightless action scenes. The 3D effects are well worth the extra cost between the versions on disc. This movie keeps you at the edge of your seat & takes your breath away.

Just Like Being In Outer Space!

Watching this movie in 3D is one of the most thrilling movie experiences I have had in my 72 years! It is a roller coaster ride from start to finish. The realism and detail are fantastic. One example is the star fields in the background, which are like looking up at the night sky in a dark area on earth, except better. The time and effort of the filmmakers is apparent on the screen. I only have a minor quibble-George Clooney is a little too suave for an astronaut, but the story is so thrilling that you don't notice. The picture and sound quality are topnotch. A must see.

Purchased this in 3D. Looked great, the space scenes, some of the 3D scenes could have used a bit more depth. Sandra Bullock really did a good job in the principal role. Perhaps not perfectly nuanced, but it was believable enough. Loved the plot. Not sure how realistic it all was. (SPOILER AHEAD!!!) There is a scene where two characters are tethered in 0 G, and flying through space to catch something, and when they catch it, one of them ends up acting like he's still being tugged by some unknown force. Absolutely horrible jar from the story. Really removes you from the immersion of the story.

A real gem, clearly worthy of all the hype. I havent watched the behind the scenes stuff yet but I am most curious as to how something of this magnitude was pulled off. One of the most eye engaging films I have seen in a long time (since 2002 Amelie). The attention to detail is exceptional. Though the plot line is a bit thin and impressively unlikely, it is only too easy to really get caught up in the moment thanks, again, to spectacular views and effects but also to two remarkable performances. In summary, a very rewarding view, especially in 3D. Great for any home collection.

Alfonso Cuarón strikes again, great use of Blu-ray

I have to hand it to Alfonso Cuarón; he knows how to make science fiction more human and always brings the best out of his actors and actresses. Even though I'm usually not the biggest fan of Sandra Bullock, I thought she did a pretty decent job with her role, and the effects are absolutely stunning in this film. Children of Men was a tiny bit of sci-fi with a heart - this film is a tense thriller that just happens to be set in the fantastical environment of space. If you're looking for a good story and a great use of high resolution, Gravity cuts the mustard.

The movie is great, but the director spends way too much developing symbolism and it seems very forced. The special effects are amazing and even though there is a large amount of CGI, it still has a very natural feel visually. The plot is just ok and it will date the movie a few years. Overall, I would watch it again. Sometimes you will watch a movie to catch something you missed the first time, this does not happen with this film. It is very slow to develop, so I feel the reason to watch it again would be to appreciate the effects rather than to absorb the story line. 3 and a half stars.

Gravity stars one of my favorite actors, Sandra Bullock. I have never been disappointed with her in a film; even if the file itself wasn't all that good. I knew I was going to like this from the start because I love movies about space exploration, but I believe that anyone who has ever been alone for 5 minutes to 5 years will appreciate this movie. Sandra Bullock is gravity. She draws you right into herself. I bought the 3D version and was very impressed. I have owned a 3D TV/DVD player and never fully watched a 3D movie until this one and it was well worth it. A must see and must buy!!!

If you own a 3DTV it is an injustice not to buy this movie. The 3D is some of the best I've ever seen and it quickly became one of my favorite movies of all time because of how well done the 3D was implemented. The story is pretty straightforward but the visuals are some of the best in film. If you were to go into space you will see exactly what is in this film. When it was over I wanted to become an astronaut and regretted majoring in business. If you know someone on the fence about getting into the 3D craze, show them this movie and they will change their mind.

I found Gravity to be an almost perfect immersive experience. From the very opening you will feel as if you are actually floating in space with the crew. Sandra Bullock's character is totally believable and she displays remarkable intensity throughout the story. It is not often that I find myself twisting, turning and squirming in my seat in a film but Gravity definitely had me hooked. George Clooney is only around for a short time but his portrayal of the strong and stoic veteran astronaut will have you cheering and crying. Unquestionably one of the best films of 2013.

Gravity is a very enjoyable movie. It's mostly set in space and the story revolves around two, and often, a single person. The premise is intriguing and the acting keeps you interested. It's mostly a drama film but there are obvious elements of science fiction. The visual effects are mostly terrific. There are just a few short moments of slowness where you might feel the story is dragging but, overall, it's an easy watch. I did find myself wanting a little at the ending; I won't give away the story but I will say that I expected a bit more of a conclusion for the characters.

Alfonso Cauron's other films are all good, but here he has achieved something amazing that I find hard to think he will ever top. He raised the bar on himself, and I appreciate his efforts to make a great film for the ages. The acting is top notch, even if the cast is small. The effects are groundbreaking. The emotion in the story feels real. The 3D actually SUPPORTS the feel of the movie, rather than take away from it, as it might do in other films.

Being an old guy who has seen all the Si-Fi standards such as the original Day The Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet and the Star Trek series through the years, this movie was OK but not outstanding. Then I watched it a second time and liked it lots better. I thought the best scene was where Bullock was talking to herself just before re-entry. That was a great job on her part. Then on re-entry when she looks out the port to see debris burning up in the atmosphere was really cool. I have it in all formats, 3D, Blu ray, DVD and on Flixter. It's worth it.

This film will make you feel as though you took a trip into orbit around the Earth. Not a big Bullock or Clooney fan but I have to say both performances were excellent. The plot was good, although a little far fetched, but isn't that why we watch movies? The main thing I got out of this film, more than anything else, is how unbelievably hostile space actually is. Space is no place for humans, or for any living organisms that we know of. Go out and get the 3D version of Gravity, you will not be disappointed. Darn it, I want to go watch t again right now LOL.
