It's a fresh take on and old game, it's very challenging to learn especially if you were used to playing the classic guitar hero, this will be like learning to walk again, but it's different and fun

The new version has made the game fun and unique again. The game is easier for beginners and more challenging for old pros.

The game is fun to play with a HUGE selection of songs but it is difficult. It’s not like the old guitar hero’s most people are used to. If you’re new to this kind of game just note that it’s a good game to play but it’s not easy

The new controller is great, the possibility of having more than 200 songs into the game is absolutely amazing if you have an internet connection (who doesnt?) The only minor downside is the fact that you cannot own any of the 200 songs in GHTv

I'm enjoying playing this new Guitar Hero game. It has some great songs on the disc with some great innovative ideas. However there is a big flaw with the game. After playing for a while, the guitar stopped registering down strums on the guitar. I've tried calibration over and over again and it doesn't work. I am able to strum up (which is how I have to play) but strumming down doesn't work on my guitar. I've read on several forums that this is a wide spread problem plaguing many guitars. I'm not sure if this is able to be fixed by an update for the game or what, but it should be immediately addressed if Activision wants me to purchase another guitar hero game.

The game is a great update to the guitar hero franchise. The ability to face off against others online via their music video channels is pretty awesome. I have been having difficulty getting my guitar exactly synced up with the notes though. It worked great on day one, but now is off a bit. The calibration screen for this version is a ball hitting a cow bell. Does not seem to be as accurate as older versions where you strummed to calibrate. They do have an auto calibrate, but I have not had any luck with it. Restarting the console seems to fix it for a while... Hopefully a patch to the game will fix this permanently. If they fix it, this is a 5 star game.

This game is pretty fun and cool for the most part. It's different from the older games of GH. What makes this game fun is the controls, which are a little harder to get used to, but also the many songs that the game has to start.

Pros: Game attempts to innovate and bring new features to the genre. Cons: Everything feels half-baked and the micro-transactions feel very disrespectful. You have to 'rent' the song library if you want to play on demand songs.

I here played every GH since the original release, and while I love that the developers took a risk with the new layout of the guitar, the game is lacking. I love they brought out the TV mode but it should have been added on top of previous game modes, but instead they took out vs mode and the career mode is extremely quick with very little replay value. the guitars from other consoles are compatible with the included (console specific) USB dongle, but its ridiculous the adapters are not sold alone since the adapter only allows one connection and the other console versions aren't read by the Xbox one. Hopefully the next is better.

Been playing rockband 4 and the controllers are so different. Its very fun especially being able to compete with people world wide on GHTV. Personally I think this is better than rockband 4 if you just want to play on guitars.

This game is fun and entertaining but it is quite different than the older Guitar Hero games. They have completely redesigned the guitar. I'm not a huge fan of the new design but I appreciate the forward thinking that they have. The music is also very different. Most of the music in the older games were rock, classic rock, and metal. However, the music in this Guitar Hero leans more towards a mainstream type of genre. Many songs I myself didn't even really know and I listen to old stuff and current pop stuff. Overall, I would recommend this to anybody wanting to have a little fun with a rhythm/music type of game; however, if you're an older GH player, be forewarned that it is nothing like the classic GH games.

Guitar hero live is a fresh take on an old formula. The new style guitar is a great feature, easy for new comers, also a nice challenge for veteran players. The guitar is well built and not pricy in comparison to rock band. The online play is great, playing songs to music videos, against 7 other players. With a constantly updated online library, and free to play songs, this game will shurly provide years of quality fun. Highly recommend

I really enjoy the GHTV, just waiting for more songs that adhere to my tastes to be released. I was disappointed with the on disc tracklist as well. The new guitar was easy to learn and a major upgrade from the old way.

I have always been a fan of the music games. Guitar Hero Live is a major jump to those games. The new guitar looks great and a new challenge to master. If you like the old Guitar Hero, I don't think you can go wrong here.

My son and I love this game - it's got great music selections. The live portion is definitely a lot more challenging but we love that it has the TV version which allows you to play music videos instead. So much fun!

It's a fun game. The fret button layout change definitely feels more like a real guitar, and the harder modes can really make it feel confusing. The hokey cheesy on-stage with live video is a little bleh. You're too focused on the game to worry about what the crowd is doing or your band mates and every venue you're in a different band. It would have made more sense if your prestige travelled with you. Live mode is where it shines. Although you have to buy plays with tokens (tokens are earned through play throughs of songs) you'll usually end up playing a few you know you enjoy. Overall a fun game.

I have been in love with GH for a while I just haven't had the time to play in a while. I bought this and even though it is a different controller then I am use to. It didn't disappoint.
