This was my first time purchasing a download, it was ok but had to uninstall and reinstall it to get the updates to download.

Definitely got my taxes done using this. Not fun but still.

I have been using H&R online services for a few years and this year I decided to buy their software from BestBuy (since it was on sale) and then potentially login with my online password, pull my old tax return information and proceed with current filing. Sounds pretty straightforward but... THERE IS NO option to link or somehow pull H&R filing from online account into downloaded software!!! I cannot believe this is their bread and butter and they don't have such basic functions. This company is not serious. Would not recommend

Generally it took me much longer time compared to turbo tax in the previous year (1hour for Turbo vs 5 hours H&R) 1. It doesn't allow me to import my two W-2s and other form. Had to manually input every box on every form 2. for the Mac version, It doesn't come with State. Called the rep and spent 30 mins to get California. 3. When I asked for the Mass state they told me they only had it for windows version not mac version. Now i cannot do my Mass tax return.

Clunky to use, not an easy transfer of information- then they are telling me I have to pay $40 for state when I bought w/state....

Supposedly, the Windows version works just fine, but H&R Block really seems to have skimped on their support for Mac. The program does work, but whenever you have to update it, the update program says "Gathering information" and then freezes. To get around this, you have to download Federal updates from the H&R Block website, and install them yourself. For the State update, you have to go to the folder it downloads the update to (~/Library/Application Support/H&RBlock/2017/Pending Updates), open the DMG file, and run the installation program in there. If you're decent with a Mac and patient with annoyances then you should be OK, but if you're not, get the Windows version. Or TurboTax, which I've used on Mac previously and has been just fine.

I tried this software last year and ended up having to file with Turbo Tax because I could not get the software to work properly. I figured that I would give it another shot because of the great price on a Best Buy Deal of the Day and the end result is having to file with Turbo Tax again. The software is not user friendly and does not give good explanations where information is required. There were cells that had incorrect information filled in that couldn't be modified. I will never use this software again. NOTE: I have a MacBook. Maybe the Windows software is better.

I hardly every write reviews. Wish there was a way to give zero stars.. I have used HR Block for several years, but this year, its completely worthless if you have a newer Mac and have software up to date. After 5+ hrs with HR Block customer service, still doesn't work. Crashes every time I browse to import and try to save. DONT BUY!!! And to top it off Best Buy won't offer refund.
