~ Halloween II gets the Deluxe 4K treatment ~
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, we get an individual 4K deluxe release of Halloween II, the continuation of the night in which Laurie Strode came face to face with Michael Myers, her nearly forgotten brother. After breaking out of the insane asylum, Michael plots his way to Haddonfield, Illinois for a family reunion and to kill anyone who gets in his way from doing in his sister. Laurie, after suffering serious injury, finds herself at the city hospital. Michael escapes Dr. Loomis once again after being shot several times and tries to elude the local sheriff's at all costs. He winds his way through the city as they partake of the dark night of Halloween, along the way, killing yet another innocent girl. He finally learns of Laurie's presence at he city hospital and makes his way there, wreaking havoc to all. Laurie finally realizes Michael is there and tries to escape from his grasp once and for all. Doctor Loomis arrives on scene to engage Michael as well. Great sequel and now it looks fantastic in a brand new 2021 4K edition with great artwork and a flip cover insert for the original art. We get pretty much all of the extras that have been released prior, with the exception of several individual deleted scenes by themselves without narration. There is some here on this edition with narration from the Director and he explains why they did not make it into the final movie. I believe the 30th Anniversary Blu-ray of Halloween II has those individual deleted scenes that had to be cut. The Blu-ray version of the movie on that edition had white specks in it throughout. This 2021 4K edition looks the best it has ever looked. Sound is a fantastic Dolby Atmos 7.1 if you choose. There are other audio options as well. Menus are outstanding. The TV version is on a DVD being standard definition, I am a bit dismayed as to why they went and put the first Halloween TV cut on a nice Blu-ray and left this sequel on a DVD. Anyway, at least we have it if you want to see that version. Get this now before it is out of print.

A lesser 80's classic.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're into this movie, you're probably already aware that there's some glitchiness on the HDR10 pass on this title, but the Dolby Vision grade looks amazing and has no glitchiness. Truthfully the only issue is for fractions of a second and while I likely would have noticed it before it was pointed out, it ain't the end of the world if you're not Dolby Vision capable. I'm thrilled with how this movie looks on the format. It's not a patch on the original film in terms of content, but I couldn't award 4 1/2 stars so I err on giving high marks for the attempt.

A must buy if you purchased the 1st 4k Halloween
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the very best Halloween 2 edition you can buy and see at home in your living room. H2 picks up right from where H1 ends. Scream Factory did an amazing job with the 4k transfer, adding Dolby Atmos and the thick slipcover. Worth the upgrade.

Halloween II 4K
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shout Factory's release of Halloween II on 4k disc, from a fresh restoration, was a big surprise, and a welcome one. I honestly never thought this film would receive that kind of treatment. The end result is a beautiful image that really allows the film to shine. Halloween II has never looked this good before, and with the new Dolby Atmos mix, has never sounded better either. Halloween II may not be as good of a film as the original, but like the original, I've been watching it regularly since the 80's. It has that special nostalgic feel to it that makes me watch it every year. It's a great companion to the original, especially now with both films receiving top notch restorations and 4k presentations.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This edition is a must for any true fan of this movie. I've loved this movie since the early days of cable tv (I was 12). I've seen the movie every couple of years since then, owned it in VHS, DVD and now thus truly ultimate edition on blu ray. Trust me on this one, it's worth every penny

Great sequel to an awesome movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been a long time since I've seen Halloween II, and all I can remember was how dark it was when I watched it on TV. Dark as in, "I couldn't see much." The transfer is great, the music is awesome and the performances are to "die" for. Now that it's on Blu-ray, I can see the better quality than what I saw when I was a kid. Great addition to the first film.

Good sequel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this movie on the second-to-last day of Fall Break in 2017. I was so excited to see it, but it was so much better than what I had hoped for. I didn't see it right away, but there are some nice reversals and "Updates" on things (Kills) from the Original Classic. - Nurse Jill's death, for example. The way Bob died in the Original showed his feet slowing down. Nurse Jill's death had a similar effect, but her shoes came off. I'm not saying that these movies need gore, but Carpenter did a great job going between gory and not-gory kills. I thought that Michael Myers was creepy as heck in this one, and his way of stalking almost made think he was going to kill Laurie, even after multiple months of studying the franchise before seeing the Original. The acting is phenomonal, and those scenes with Laurie passing out seems totally realistic, that quick dialogue exange between Loomis and the neighbor made me laugh and think it was a great one-liner, and everything about this movie is great... there's one thing. The way we find out Michael and Laurie are siblings I'm not a big fan of. I don't mind it, but I think Laurie should've found it out for herself. But overall, I think this movie is amazing, almost perfect, but gets a 9.9/10. Great movie, guys!

A good follow up to the classic.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the follow up to Carpenter's original Halloween and an excellent slasher film. Slightly gorier than the first, but pretty tame by today's standards, it still has plenty of suspense.

good sequel
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one I put off for awhile but I needed to get this. If you want another part of the first iconic horror film, grab this one before it disappears again. I loved the first one and this one is right up there too.
