Customers are saying

Customers highly value the multiplayer, graphics, and weapons in Halo 3 Platinum Hits, with many praising the exciting online battles and impressive visuals. The story and maps also receive positive feedback, while the Forge mode is considered a standout feature by some players. However, some find the campaign mode to be too short and easy, suggesting a lack of challenge for some players. Overall, the game's strengths lie in its multiplayer and customization options, though improvements to the campaign's length and difficulty could enhance the experience.

The XboxOne is great except for game availability. It's strange, but they haven't ported much at all from the Xbox 360, which is a shame.

Halo 3 has it all. Co-op campaign, single player campaign, Forge, split screen even in online ranked games, death matches, and videos. Single player comes back with avengeance. Play on the hardest difficulty and you will have a nice challenge. It is a little short with only 9 chapters, but very fun and worth playing. You can set up co-op with up to 4 people (including yourself) which makes it a lot easier, (and you still get the achievements) but still pretty rough on the hardest difficulty. There is a video mode where you can actually play back what has happened in the games (even in campaign, which is a good way to look for the hidden skulls), pause, change angles and explore with the free roam camera. Forge is a way to set up your own maps. You can not create the terrain, but you can move objects, flags, spawn points, territories, whatever your fancy is. You can even play a game while creating things at the same time. It is a lot of fun to do. Finally we come to what everyone wants to do. Death match! Online vs. games are a lot of fun. It is set up like Halo 2 where you play against people with the same (or similar) skill levels. You can play ranked games in parties and if you have too large of a party you can set up a social game. This is all a lot of fun to play around with. Achievements for this game are decently well done. You will be playing most of the aspects of the game for awhile in order to get them all. The point arrangement could have been a little better in my opinion, but not detrimental at all. Get this game if you like Halo, first person shooters, or fun!

For all that were worried about Halo 3 not living up to their expectations, worry no more. Halo 3 has built upon what Halo 2 was and made it better ten fold. The single player game is engrossing, yet some may say too short on the easier difficulty levels. The story is well told, but could be explained a little better, everything can be figured out just by paying close attention though, so no worries there. The game itself has many new weapons and as far as multiplayer goes many new things have been incorporated. There are a few of the old maps from Halo 2 which have been given a graphical overhaul and some of the layout has been changed. The new maps are well designed and will be sure to keep players finding new things well after the game was originally purchased. The new ranking systems for multiplayer are very easy to understand and the in-game menus are user friendly. The glitches that existed in Halo 2 have been eliminated and overall Bungie has created the perfect game to end the series.

Halo 3 is spectacular game if you are looking to purchase it. The story is fantastic with great graphics, although it is somewhat repetitave. You can play co-op with two people on one console, or four people on two or more consoles. Multiplayer is still the same, with added maps, guns, and ranks. It also comes with a sick forge mode where you can add or take away many parts of the level and replace it with new objects and guns. There is a theater where you can watch your recent campaign performances, as well as the online ones. Take pictures and tape videos to save and share with your friends. The best can be put on Bungie's Favorites board. Overall, the gae is four and a half stars, but not the five because of the repeating in the campaign. Everything else is a solid five out of five.

Halo 3 brings in a great diversity of new weapons, maps, and playing modes it makes the game all the more fun. I really liked the graphics of the game. The story line is interesting however I thought the campaign was a bit short. All in all, Halo 3 beats them all.

I was a serious player of the first 2 especially overseas whilw deployed with the military, which turned me on to the Slayer part of the game. I held out to buy a 360 until HALO 3 was released. WOW! the graphics as well as the storyline to this game are surreal. I am not one of those people who sit down and try to beat it as fast as I can and not enjoy the story of the game it took me a week but it seemed rather short. The extras they added to the game like pulling the plasma cannons and turret mounted weapons off the tripods was a great addition as well as adding the new items like spike grenades ect... I havent had a chance to play online but am looking forward to it. Again Bungie and Microsoft have done a superb job worthy of adding the game to the archives of keepers and not selling it or trading it in.

I personally would recommend this game to anyone who is into playing multiplayer. It is especially great over Xbox Live and the maps are well layed out. The multiplayer also works just fine for groups on one system or more systems over a network. The only problem is that campaign is too short and only consists of nine levels. Of corse they fallow the lay level layer out of having city maps first, a flood infested map in the middle, and the last map or so in a forerunner building. It just leaves more to be desired from the last game in an amazing trilogy. But other than a less than expected campaign, the game is great with excellent graphics and an amazing multiplayer that is to expected from the Halo series.

A good end to the Trilogy. Awesome game-play, fun campaign (which was really kicked up a notch with 4 player co-op), new weapons and vechicles, fun maps, and FORGE! If nothing else i would recommend this game just for Forge. Kudos to Bungie for this innovative idea. The online play is intense, and the very customizable armor lets you stand out when online. BUT, it could've been better. The graphics weren't as great as they could've been. The elite could've used some better looking armor. And the campaign could have been longer. It got old having to save Johnson every mission. Over all it was a great game and i recommend it to all Halo lovers who haven't bought it yet, and all newcomer Halo fans!

halo 3 is a really fun game it has awesome graphics, the controls are easy to get used to, the story was really good and you can play it with up to 4 other people which is awesome, mutiplayer has alot of game types and custom games, and you can forge basically the best think ever alot players online have crazy custom maps, and you can record your most memorable moments online or story with theatre. i really didn't like the hackers or cheaters online though, they've fixed alot so theirs not too many of them anymore so you can play online with ease

    What Halo 1 & 2 should've been.

Halo 3 is good because it's finally the way a Halo game SHOULD have played. Every single problem I had with Halo 1 and Halo 2, problems that were no doubt born out of a tight deadline, have been completely eliminated in Halo 3. Copy-and-paste level design? Gone. Don't like Halo 2's wimpy weapons? Halo 3's arsenal not only brings back some old favorites from Halo 1, but it beefs up most of the weaponry so that EVERYTHING has a use - even the Needler. Don't like playing as the Arbiter? You don't. Don't like how light on plot the game is? Halo 3 digs deep in to the game's universe - deeper than Halo 1 or Halo 2; it digs so deep and compacts the plot so well that it's borderline nonsensical at times. For the first few levels you really get the feeling that Halo 3 is not only the end to the Halo trilogy, but it is also a culmination of all the content that had to be removed from Halo 2 to make the November 9th Deadline. And that, in a way, is pretty much the only qualm I have with Halo 3 - it is more or less impossible to enjoy Halo 3 to its fullest extent without first having immersed yourself in the Halo universe; you need to not only understand what happened in Halo 1 and Halo 2, but it would also help to have read the novels, too. Though the previous games in the series have never really gone too deep, the Halo universe is actually fairly in-depth and Halo 3 pulls no punches in referencing things from the novels - things the previous games in the series never touched on. This means, despite Halo 3 being the best, most finely-tuned entry in the series, it will probably never convert anyone. If you didn't like Halo before, Halo 3 probably won't make you see the light - simply because it is doomed to be nothing more than a sequel to a couple of games that caught a bad break. Because, let's make no mistake - this is still Halo, it's just the pinnacle of the franchise. Beautiful graphics (I'm especially impressed with the lighting/shadowing system), breathtaking music, finely tuned gameplay, humongous outdoor battles, and tons of awesome features to ensure that, long after you've finished the fight, you haven't finished the game. This is, finally, Halo done right.

As you could expect, Halo 3 is an outstanding game. The graphics are great, The online play is as good as ever, and the story mode actually finishes the story.Although the game is pretty much the same style as the previous game, it still never gets old. New weapons like the spikers and laser charger give you a chance to think of a new game plan. With 4 difficulty levels one the story, it gives you a bunch of opportunities to perfect your game. The best difficulty level id Hero, though.

Only two words are needed to describe Halo 3. Absolutely Awesome. Gears of War move on over. Halo 3 is going to be the best game of the year by a long shot. It already went gold! The single player is going to be amazing. The graphics are great and they have added so much more to it. New vehicles, new weapons, new maps. Halo 3 is a definite buy for any xbox 360 owner. Of course, if your a die hard Halo fan, you'll want to pick up the legendary version.

The campaign mode is short but challenging. Matchmaking is extremely addicting with it's wide variety of types and large player base, and Custom Games are extremely fun for anyone with Live and a large friend list to go with it. There are so many weapons and vehicles. Forge is the greatest thing about Halo- you can make any map anything you want, especially on the map Foundry. Anyone with a 360 MUST purchase this game.

If you liked H2, you will certainly enjoy the upgrade to 360, mostly because of the graphics. Gameplay is very much the same, except for the switching of reload from X to RB. Same old point-and-shoot until they're dead stuff. Online is very glitchy, and one person's lag brings down the connection for everyone. Some of the maps are clearly variations of H2 maps, which is not a big deal considering the glitches and linear gameplay. On the other hand, the positives of this game strongly outweigh the negatives. The graphics are stunning in 1080p, and the sound follows with the visual appearance. The addition of new guns such as the gravity hammer and Spartan Laser adds a whole new level to the game. Now for the two best additions: Forge and Theater. The Forge is an amazing tool for anyone who was used to the lack of editing power in console games. It lets you take a pre-made map and edit all of the items (weapons, vehicles, etc.). You can even edit a map while your friends are running around killing each other on it. The Theater is just as awesome, allowing you to watch a real-time film of any of your most recent matches. You can even take high-resolution screenshots and video clips of your best kills. Overall, it is a very impressive performance once again by Bungie. The only thing is: you have seen most of this before. This is why the game has gotten old, at least for myself, within the first couple of months since release. If you are saving up for just one premier shooter this fall/winter, I would suggest looking to Call of Duty 4 because of the innovation and replay value that you cannot find in Halo 3.

Graphics: Breathtaking 9.5/10 The graphics great. The rumors of an upgraded Halo 2, or Halo 2 like graphics is not true. With smooth framerates and stunning effects, you will be taken aback. Take some time to watch the backgrounds and environments and the detail of that went into these levels. This is after you clear everything that moves. Sound: Amazing – 10/10 The sounds, music, effects, and voices take you immediately into the game. Surround sound is a must so you can hear the shots, shouts, and footsteps of the your opponents in this game. The score for this game heightens you senses, and truly brings you into the game. Gameplay: Spectacular – 9/10 Smooth animations, large levels, smart enemies and A.I., big battles, and 4-player co-op = awesome. Without giving anything away, this is some great storytelling that gives way to some genuine wow moments. Replay Value – Amazing 10/10 Multiplayer. That is all I have to say. This game has high replay value. Choose which way you would like to play online, but with the achievements, future downloadable content, 4-player co-op, and with over 1 million copies pre-ordered, and 4 million copies on retailers shelves in the first week, there will always be someone to play with. Overall – Perfect 9.5/10 I am a fan of First-Person-Shooters (FPS) and all that is associated with them. I enjoy the emersion, and critique them heavily. This game allows you to “finish the fight”, but this game is so much more. The campaign brings closure, but it is the multiplayer aspect that will revolutionize XBOX Live and online gaming as we know it. Halo 3 is Bungie’s 3-year project and baby, with unlimited resources from Microsoft, that was made to send Microsoft’s XBOX 360 to the next level, and it was worth the wait and money. With over 1 million pre-orders, this epic tale concludes with the highest pre-orders of a game to date. This game in campaign feels, and plays near perfect, and allows veterans and newcomers alike to enjoy and truly experience this game. The story line finishes up the previous two games, and is just long enough to make it feel right, and not dragged out. It took approximately 8.5 hours to beat it on legendary difficulty. It may be a bit shorter, though this was played immediately after a midnight sale of this game. The co-op was well done, and creates a new feel for campaign FPS games. I look forward to the future where this will be the standard in playing games. The online is well done. Halo 3 has once again set the standard of what an online matchmaking/playing system should be. Putting together fun maps, objectives, and customizable Advatars, this game will appeal to the “newbie”, as well as the everyday online Halo player. With the Halo 2 system being overhauled, and the Bungie stat-tracker updated, this game will quickly become the number one game on XBOX Live. I could write a five page review on this game, the battles, the enemies, weapons, and AI, but it still would not do it justice. If you have an XBOX 360, you should buy this, and buy it now. If you have thought about getting an XBOX 360, this would be the reason to get one. Does it live up to the hype? I don’t think anything could have lived up to the hype that is game received. This game was praised as the second coming, but what it is one of the best games of 2007, and is beautiful and fun to play.

I bought this game when it first came out a few years ago, and you would think I would have put it down now, but still Halo3 keeps calling me to play it over and over again. What's so addictive about are the multiplayer options and the overall fun you get out of this game. The controls are relatively easy to get used to, the graphics are not super realistic, but the gameplay is second to none. Where other games do well is the graphics, but they they sacrifice on what can be done in the game by the character. In Halo3 you are pretty much free to roam just about anywhere in the maps and do just about anything with your player (jumping, move certain objects, crash things, blow up things, etc.) that's within the engine limits. Here's what I find most intriguing and fun about Halo3: Story - The Halo story has a huge following due to the fact that the story is inspiring and makes you feel as if you are the Spartan - the ultimate hero of our world. Challenging - You can select different grades of difficulty in the game. Co-op Campaign - You can play Cooperative campaign mode with your friends! Map Editor - Called Forge in Halo3 and probably the best map editor I've ever seen. There is so much you can do and build. The possibilities are almost endless. Share them with other Halo Players over File Share. You can even invite your friends in a Forge session as you work to create custom maps or just have fun in the map editor. There's so much to do! Multiplayer - Matchmaking - Halo3 is by far the best multiplayer game out there. Different types of Social and Ranked matches are available over Xbox Live Gold. You can also play Custom maps with your friends. Guests- From your 360 console at home, you and up to 3 guests can join in on the Xbox Live fun by joining games over Halo3's Matchmaking. SystemLink - Have LAN parties, or Halo Parties with your friends with other 360 consoles in the comfort of your home. All you need are extra t.v. sets, router, and network cables, plus however many 360 consoles and controllers you want to hook up...16 players max..if I'm not mistaken. Custom Games - You can create and play Custom Matches with your friends or join those of others. You can play maps found on File Share or maps you've created and saved with the Map Editor. Theater - By far one of the coolest add-ons to a game I've seen. Previously played games are recorded and downloadable to watch. You can also invite your friends in the the Theater to watch them too. Additionally, you can edit the playback to cut it down to a smaller size, change the perspective of who or what you're looking at, and then you can save all of that and share it over File Share. File Share - Bungie gives you a certain amount of free slots available to upload your custom maps from Forge, and screen shots and playbacks from Theater. File Share can be used to download these items that either Bungie or your Friends (or other players) have also reccommended. You can also purchase additional File Share slots from Bungie with Xbox Live points. Continuing map packs - If I counted them correctly, since Halo3's release, there have been 3 or 4 new map packs released for extra enjoyment. When Halo ODST launches in mid September 2009, these map packs should be included. Hopefully I was able to give you a good idea of what to expect in Halo 3. If you haven't ever played Halo 3 before, then I highly encourage you to do so. Even if First Person Shooter games are not for you, at least seeing this game and what it can do will really impress you. I for one know that this game was the best investment I have ever put into a video game. Most video games depreciate big time in their value over a course of two years, but Halo 3 is still going strong. Rent it first maybe, to see if you want to invest in it yourself.....if it's not out stock from your local video store!

This is an excellent game. In HALO 3, the Covenant have taken over Earth and the Elites have turned against the Prophets. It's up to the Master Cheif to bring an end to the war between Earth and the Covenant and to save Humanity from extinction. The story is well thoguth out and well executed. HALO still has the best developed story of any FPS. The HD graphics look great. Lots of detail and fluid animation. Gameplay is top notch, the controls work very well and the action is fast and furious. The vehicle controls work very well. The music is also of very high quality. This is a great game all around, but not as great as it's predecessors, nor is it as great as HALO 4 or HALO: Combat Evolved Anniversary. It's an outstanding game, it's just in a franchise that is of extreme high quality and it's hard not to compare it to the rest of the series. A weak HALO is still far better than most series at their strongest. I recommedn this game to fans of sci-fi and action, as well as anyone who has an XBOX 360. If you're looking for a solid FPS with lots of action, this is a great game to get. And you can't beat the 'Platinum Hits' price.

When I first heard that this game was coming out, I thought that i would wait a few months after release because I am not a huge Halo 3 fan. But instead i saw it and I needed to buy it...so I did. I am amazed how many new things ubisoft (makers of game) had put in this game, all the new weapson, new maps, forge (create a map mode), and the intensity of the levels. If you, the reader, likes shooters and has played Halo 1 and/or 2, you must buy this game. I dont necesarily care about the Halo story but I love the gameplay, thats why I bought it. If you have never played any of the other halos, then this is the time to try it out. It is a lot of fun to play, and especially addictive. I could not stop playing until I beat it because I got stuck a few times, I had to spend hours on it. This game has exceptional graphics and astonishing gameplay that is extremely original. This is one of the best first person shooters for the XBOX 360 within in the past year, one of the best!!!! DEFENITE BUY! IF you are staring at this screen thinking if you should spend $60 on this game...you should...defenitely worth it.
