Wow... What can I say?? I've been waiting for halo five for a few years now. Been a huge fan of the series since the beginning. I was super excited to have a new halo experience on my Xbox one. Here's what I thought.... The campaign was full of fun and exciting landscapes and super fun game play. The graphics were top notch with little to no slow down. The story was really hard to follow. I thought I knew enough of the halo story to understand what was going on.... I didn't. The multiplayer has to be the best experience I've had in any halo game. Maps are fun and exciting. I definitely recommend this game to any halo fan. The story was the only thing that was hard for me to understand.

Halo 5 warzone is the best feature IMO. Big team battles is what I like most. Campaign is fun and even better in Co-op. The only bad thing is there are no more local split screen games. Days of screen peaking are over.

Graphics are great, game play is easy and fun, and Halo continues to have an intriguing story.
I'm not a multiplayer gamer, but always appreciate the single player campaign of Halo games.

A great way for a new halo to come to Xbox one, amazing graphics, solid controls and fun multiplayer. This game got me back into the halo franchise and hopefully is the beginning of more great titles to come.

Loads of fun, game rendering is great. Improved, but still, Halo graphics. Some fun new multiplayer game modes. No longer has split screen on same console, which was a let down, but not worth losing a star over!

Multiplayer still not as good as Halo 3...

Multiplayer is still not as balanced or fun as Halo 3 was-- dual wielding is still missing and the balance between shields and health is not quire right. It still feels like 343 Industries is attempting to get Halo to fit in with the Call Of Duty crowd. I believe it's more challenging when a kill takes more than a few bullets to the foot.
This is still better than Halo Reach and Halo 4. I couldn't stand Reach long enough to play it, even when Microsoft sent me a free version for beta testing. Halo 4 was way too far gone into the Call of Duty camp to truly be a Halo entry for multiplayer. The campaigns for both of those games were good, though, so it's not like I hated the games completely.
The same goes for Halo 5: Guardians-- the campaign is still likable. There are what seem to be rendered cut scenes, though, and those are the most action-packed part of the story. I haven't completely beaten the game, but I was disappointed even on the first mission when I was watching the first 4-person squad running into battle, destroying the covenant while sliding down a snow-covered mountain. By the time I was able to play the level, all that was left was the boring clean up.
Also new to the campaign is the idea of 'boss battles.' We've always had Hunters and Wraiths, and then there were Scarabs, etc., but Halo games have traditionally had enemies that can be killed with one or two sniper shots (on normal) and vehicles that blow up with a few plasma grenades or rockets. The boss battle I played was rather frustrating. It took quite a while to kill this particular one, and I kept dying numerous times. Note that your squad mates can revive you, but it's a Gears of War style revive-- you can't revive someone who's past reviving (e.g., blown to smithereens), and there's a time window for them to revive you or you them. All too often I'd have to replay that one boss battle instance with half a team or no team at all, because the checkpoint remembers which team members were alive.
However, these boss battles carry over into a new multiplayer mode where 2 teams fight each other to capture bases as well as fighting a third team of AI enemies. Due to the armor/health balance issue mentioned earlier, this mode just doesn't seem fun to me. As you play more multiplayer games, you can unlock cards that allow you to use special weapons and vehicles. Even this was horrible, though, because I'd spawn with the weapon and get killed immediately-- there went my special weapon. Even Scorpion tanks are blown up in less than a minute.
I also dislike the 'arena' mode, Halo 5's version of 'Team Slayer' and other traditional game types. The biggest annoyance here is the way power weapons are called out on the map; Halo 4 had the same issue. I enjoyed the way past Halos forced you to explore the maps to find out where the weapons were located; this game has the Gears of War style fight to get to the location where the power weapon spawns, but it also has a timer to tell you when the next time is that the weapon will spawn.
Overall, it is a fun game, but I got tired of it quickly. Fallout 4 seemed to be the most fun single player game so far this season, and Call of Duty Black Ops seems to be the most-played multiplayer game among my friends. Hopefully 343 will patch the game soon to fix some of the balancing issues.

Very fluid multiplayer and campaign action. Lacks multiplayer splitscreen, even for local/custom games, which is a disappointment. This is the first installation to lack splitscreen.

The story of this Halo game is amazing!!! It's perfectly written and the action is top notch!!! I'm just very disappointed that you can play split-screen in this Halo game at all! This was what made Halo, Halo. 4-player split-screen for online and offline should have been a no brainer for the franchise that pioneered split-screen shooters. Activision is at least getting the message with 4-player split screen on PS4 and XBOX One for Black Ops 3!!! Sure, playing online is fun but, when you wanna have your buddies over to play Halo you expect to take out 4 controllers and start playing... Very disappointed in the multiplayer aspect Microsoft!

Halo 5 is a ton of fun. The combat is some of the best I've seen in a Halo game in years, the controls are pretty good, and the multiplayer is top-notch. However, I am a bit indifferent with the story and campaign. The story written for this is quite lackluster, and seems rushed. I'm a bit disappointed with the story choices they made, and the "twist" - it was quite contrived.
Lack of local co-op is also a big miss here. How could they not include that? Just seems very strange not to. People are understandably upset about that and I am a bit too.
Overall - fun Halo game, but it just lacks a few things that keep it from being a five-star.

This is a classic halo game in mechanics and gameplay. There are numerous weapons to choose from but all of them are based off previous versions and each may have it's strengths and weakness depending on the enemies encountered. The story isn't horrible but does bounce around between the two different Spartan teams and can be confusing at first since playing the game feels the same regardless of who you are playing as. Overall good quality and has coop ability for up to 4 players which is nice for Halo. If you're expecting a reinvention of the series this isn't it, if you're looking for more of the same and enjoy coop it's a solid title.

Really pleased with the campaign and the new multiplayer mode Warzone. The game feels and looks great. Finished the campaign on normal and couldn't wait to go back through it on Legendary with some buddies. I usually stick to the multiplayer, but this co-op campaign is good for many play throughs. Warzone is a nice change and fun, but they could add the ability to spawn on buddies or see their names when they're more than 10 meters away. Other than that Warzone brings the slightly larger battles to Halo and it is very satisfying. Does it have the multiplayer depth or longevity of a Battlefield?...No. Is it fun and worth your time and money?...Yes, it definitely has $60 worth of content and quality.

After the whole Master chielf collection debacle I was scared to get this game but that fear was quickly removed as soon as I played it. The game is like your usual Halo but with some changes. Graphics are great and the support and updates are really good. They single player is great but it's all about the mp. Multiplayer is where this game shines! If you've ever played Halo or are a fan then this is a must buy. If you haven't played Halo this is a great place to start but make sure you play the other games before this for the story.

I have been a Halo fan since the first one and have been playing it online since the first online sessions. I have many limited edition releases, The Master Chief helmet being one of my faves.
That being said, this game had me intrigued by making it look like Master Chief was the bad guy and Cortana was some corrupt AI. It is amazing how this game plays out and I strongly recommend this to any Halo fan. You won't be disappointed. I have NOT played any multi-player stuff yet, but being a systems administrator with 3 kids, my time is limited. I reserve that for when then kids leave with mom, but that isn't that often. I loved every minute of the Campaign though.

I have found the Halo storyline to become a little hard to fallow over the last few releases. I am able to fallow this one but again the first halo was just so easy to get attach too were as this one and last few where digging to get a plot and throwing so many more random things in to make it flow. The multiple play is a nice twist but also again very hard to u sweat and what all these upgrade pages are and how to use.... I just want a good fun multiplayer with out needing a guild book to understand. I would recommend the game. Graphics are good and ending left me wantin to play the next release.

I really shouldn't have to say much, halo 5 is pretty much what you expect. Another classic game. What a way to finish off the series. I'd say it is possibly the best halo yet. The gameplay is great, graphics are arguably some of the best I've seen on a next gen console. I enjoyed the campaign and the subtle changes they've made to the franchise. The reviving system was helpful, switching from being Locke to master chief was a cool change of pace and made the game interesting. The new melee is better as well. The added features were fye in my opinion. I really enjoyed the game and plan to continue enjoying this game. Must buy for anyone with an xbox one.
