On the surface, the central idea sounds pretty strange: "Two dirt-poor best friends in rural Texas in the 1980s--one is an ex-hippie, the other is a gay, black Vietnam vet--get involved with a plot involving a decades old bank heist." But that's what Hap and Leonard is all about, based on the series of books by Joe R. Lansdale. The cast is great and the writing is sharp (better, in my opinion, than the source material). Check it out before season 2 of Hap and Leonard (Mucho Mojo) passes you by.

If you're a fan of Lansdale's series this is a real treat. Very accurate translation of the novel Savage Season. Actors chosen are spot on. My only complaint is the lack of a Bluray. This is a very disturbing trend in series releases. If it's not a highly popular mainstream release; you only get DVD, not Bluray (think, The Americans Seasons 2 and beyond, The Bridge Season 2, Scream Queens). The audio and video are great for DVD, but it's not up to Bluray by any means.

Great chemistry between the two male leads. If you have seen the series "The Following", it is a little off-putting to see the Joe Carol character (James Purefoy ) in this role put good actors can pull that off and Purefoy has the acting ability to get it done. You'll have fun watching this and the banter between characters is real fun.

This series reminds me of Justified , not actual events taking place but the flavor of the series . My only complaint is that it,s only 2 discs . The series is good but I wish it was longer. If you want oddball characters and some good drama , then this is for you.

This show has some good qualities to it but lacks in substance. The actors are pretty good but the story isn't that strong.

this story started out alright, but I would not recommend it, not enough action for me

I always enjoy buying hardcopy media in stores. Keep brick and mortar alive.
