I bought this Captain America Shield for an event I had with ( Captain America, Batman, Thor and Super Girl) 4 super heroes downtown Rochester, NY. My clients loved how the costumes looked, especially the authenticity and color of the shield. If I had something negative to say, it would be that the shield is made of good quality plastic and not Steel.... I would prefer to buy "the real deal" but dont want to spend $300 for it. For the price and I would say this was an excellent choice.

This is an awesome re-creation of Captain America's shield. It may not be as awesome as the metal version but it is still pretty slick. I have it hanging on my wall in my office and it looks great but is also really cool when it comes down and you pretend that you are smashing Hydra. There are only two issues I had/have with the shield. The first shield I purchased had the strap put together wrong on one of the loops so that it was impossible to tighten and I wouldn't be able to fix it without busting it. The one that replaced it was perfect in that regard. Both shields though have an issue with some scratches on the surface of the shield and in some minor paint flecks missing. Both shields had the scratches but the second one had a bit of the plastic showing through at one of the 'seams' where the silver ring meets the outer red ring. You wouldn't notice it unless you went over it with a fine toothed comb like I did. I may even be able to touch it up with an automotive paint pen if I can find a shade that matches. Other than those couple of issues, I am very happy with my purchase. I'm also a big fan of my Iron Man helmet but that is a story for another review!

Well, after reading the reviews I decided to give this plastic version of the Marvel Legends Gear Captain America shield a chance as I really wanted the metal version but obviously didn't want to spend the price for something to hang on the wall. First impression is it looks very nice. Metallic looking (not metallic flake) paint that is shiny on the red and dull on the silver. Paint job is almost replica quality but missed the mark by a tiny bit as there are flaws in the overall paint job. However, still nice enough for the wall or even light Cosplay. Second and the reason for the 4 out of 5 rating; the packaging is awful. There's a cardboard support arm across the center of the shield to try and provide some type of structural strengthening to the box which it does, but at the cost of scratching the paint in the middle of the star! Where the cardboard support arm is joined and tapped, the tape looks to have scratched away the silver paint in a few spots from rubbing during shipping/stocking no doubt. Otherwise a beautiful piece. Not sure if I'm going to return it or try and get silver touchup paint to hide the small scratches/nicks. I've uploaded a picture of the shield in the packaging so you can see what I mean as well as a close up of the scratches/nicks! I would say open at the store and check under support arm and if clean, buy and remove support arm before leaving.

Despite the description, saying that this item is for a kid (originally making me skeptical of the item considering it's price), I'm very fond of the size and finishing qualities it possesses. It ultimately is made of a hard material with some really nice touches to the inside as it contains two straps and more attention to detail (you'll see for yourself when you purchase this). And despite there being no trace of adamantium in the product (or cool boomerang abilities), it definitely serves it's purpose as a wonderful gift that any captain america fan must have.

This shield is very realistic. It's made of thick, hard, resin plastic which is durable and has some weight to it. The surface is painted, so I wouldn't expect it to hold up to much abuse without getting scratched and revealing the plastic core. There are cool leather straps on the back which are adjustable for putting it on your arm just like the Cap. Mine is up on the wall for decor in my movie room, but it would be perfect for an adult costume.

This shield is of very high quality yet very light weight. the attention to detail is amazing. really glad Best Buy carried this!

My kids and I absolutely love this shield. It is plastic which makes it nice and light but the paint makes it look metallic. The back of the shield is just as beautiful as the front of the shield with attention to detail given to the rivets and arm straps. It is pricey for a piece of plastic but I had gift cards and rewards point to redeem which made it more affordable. But even then I would still buy it.

When i first saw this sheild i was worried it would be made out of a cheap plastic, which would bend and break. After purchasing the sheild and holding it for the forst time i discovered that it had some weight to it and it was pretty durable. Worth the money

This shield may only be made of plastic, but it is a thicker plastic that feels more heavy duty. The paint job on it is awesome. Makes the shield look like it's made of metal. A nice alternative to paying $300 for the metal one.

Great Replica! A bit over priced for a Halloween prop but looks great! A bit heavy for a child but a teen to adult will hav no problem carrying this shield!

When he opened it, the first thing he said was a real shield made of real vibranium!!! He can't get enough. It well made and the finish is superb.

It was better than I thought it would be for the price, I am so glad I bought it. Color is great and it is made very well.

Well, it's not the $300= metal prop replica, but it looks just as good and is fairly lightweight to boot.

Bought wearily but immediately was glad. It's durable PVC but looks so close to the movie prop. Buy it.
