This was a movie that I totally got what I was expecting. Frank Miller is the comic genius that was behind "Sin City" and the dark-side of "Batman Begins." he has this way of making a story flow within his books. This was seamlessly done when transferred from one media to the other. "300" is pure visual candy in HD DVD and the sound is amazing. The action scenes start to finish are memorable. The story of the 300 spartans is a very interesting one but with that twist. Even if you only have have standard DVD, this on is a great addition for the library.

I love this HD-DVD. With a good 5.1 setup the sound is one of the best I've heard. The movie was filmed with a bit of grain to the picture, just as long as you realize this then you will enjoy the picture this hddvd reproduces. The movie itself is a great action movie, some amazing lines in it. Well worth the pickup in my mind.

The movie contained a great variety of visual/audio stimulation. The uncompressed audio that is available on the HDDVD makes this movie even more exciting. But the visual quality, even on 1080p isn't spectacular based on the 'old-school' sort of grainy filter the director used. The video quality is clearer and more vivid, but the sharpness isn't great. The only other thing that is of extremely poor taste is the exclusive 'combo' version of the HDDVD for this movie. They make it double sided; one side HDDVD and the other regular DVD. Then the manufacturers jack up the price. I don't EVER recall seeing DVD's and VHS being packaged together when DVD's were first coming out. This specific detail is a load of garbage and drops it from a 4 star to a 3 star and angers me every time popular HDDVDs get that stupid combo formatting for extra money that most people wont ever use.

300 is a really different kind of movie, but man is it an awesome kind of different! The way the movie is shot and directed and all is just great! Its packed full of action and surprisingly alot of really funny humor. Im not sure about what type of lens, or filter or whatever they use when shooting this film but on the HD DVD version, it does seem to give it just a hint of grainyness to it. But it still looks spectacular and the sound is great.

1. 300 is a great representation of a battle long ago. The story line is great and the graphics are well done. Although there is a fake part here and there, it is a movie that you should own! Story Line: 4.0 Graphics: 4.5 Action: Great Over all: 4 thumbs up

This is a great disc to show off that new HDTV and HD DVD player you own! The image quality and special effects of the film are outstanding and the stylistic approach really makes this movie an enveloping experience. The dialogue has its cheesy cliche moments, but most will be viewing this for the action/stylistic sequences. Great replay value.

First off if you don't own this yet...BUY IT! Amazing story line and the battle scenes will leave you speechless. The HD quality is ridiculous and the graininess everyone speaks of is intended and is in no way a downer for the movie. Love this film and would recommend it to anyone that loves epic battle scenes.

Wow! Thats all I have to say about this.....This is a must have for any HD-DVD collection! I have a basic set up and I was amazed with this movie! The sound and picture are flawless. This movie exceeded my expectations and I have watched it over and over and always find and hear new things! A MUST HAVE!

I had the opportunity to view this film in an Imax theater. I did not think that the experience could be matched, but in HD the picture, the sound and the vibrant colors blew me away. I had a few issues getting my disk, but it was well worth it once I received it. This is a must have for DVD collectors.

This is a must for those who enjoy action, story and effects. it loosely follows the battle of Thermopoly. Can't say enough good without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet...buy it, you'll like it.

This movie was amazing! I saw it when it came out in the IMAX and was very impressed with the HD DVD. Definately pick this up! The special features are interesting too....the game is a nice little added bonus!

Excellent graphics and special effects. Story is about the spartans 300 "Elite" warriors taking on 1000's

best movie since return of the jedi... and even better in hd. awesome special features such as a game and you can view the movie in blue-screen mode (won award for best interaction)

This film was an amazing visual experience in the theater. Now that it is on High Definition, the sound and picture pops even more. Visually stunning and awesome movie! Buy IT!

This is the story of the 300 Spartans against a million. Action packed throughout, with a little drama on the side, makes this movie a must-see.

300 is one to remember. Its a battle of soliders who go to battle to protect there land.

The film was ok. The matrix-like effects are enjoyable, and the battle scenes are exciting and intense. Gerald Butler plays a very convincing role as the leader of the spartans. The plot was rather predictable and boring. It did not stem far enough away from a typical battle movie, and was almost boring. Overall, it was a decent movie but if you are looking for a great battle movie, I wouldnt suggest having expectations for a L.O.T.R. type movie. Its also an awfully expensive purchase. I would say no on this one.
