This was the last ever movie I bought from Best Buy, and what a movie Heat is. Despite lots of negative reception of this transfer for being "too dark", I personally think this film looks excellent. Compared to the Blu Ray, it doesn't look that much darker and the 4k is definitely an upgrade. There is visual film grain but it never is too apparent as the stunning cinematography takes center stage. If you've never seen Heat you should do yourself a favor and watch it. How you'll get a copy likely will not be from Best Buy unfortunately, as they have ceased selling Movies in Physical Media. It's a shame, because I have pretty fond memories of buying tons of movies from them during sales and such. Maybe they'll reverse the decision one day, and this review will be dated. But for now, this is the end. If you're reading this, I hope you hold onto the fond memories of buying movies from Best Buy like I do,

Great movie. The 4k disc is a bit dark but if Mann said he wants it that way then perfect! In a dark room, it's no issue at all. The BD also looks great. In both the BD and the 4k disc, the sound design is fantastic. The shootout scene in particular since guns in movies rarely are portrayed to be as loud as they are in real life.

If you've seen "Heat", you don't need me to tell you it's among the greatest crime/heist movies in existence. You may, however, be wondering what the quality level of this 4k Blu-Ray is. I can say that, compared to my old DVD, the visuals are a large step up, and the audio is fantastic! I felt that my DVD audio was very subpar, especially for the dialogue, but all of Pacino's insanity, DeNiro's mumbling, and Sizemore's "the action is the juice" is totally coherent, while the gunfire sounds as good as ever.

A real modern classic, 'Heat' has the movie moxie with stars like DeNiro and Pacino going head-to-head. There are also some great character roles that add even more depth to the film. Simply put, the boiling point of 'Heat' is a crime suspense filled movie between a cop and a criminal. Like a well-played game of chess, I don't want to add spoilers, so everything looks amazing in 4k, for this outstanding film. If you have not seen it, you are missing out!

Noting but pure action on this movie great for at home with some popcorn

OK, alone, great movie. Great full cast, and lots of action. The 4K version is impressive, gives a good quality picture with awesome sound, I love the movie so getting in 4K was a must. The picture quality is really good and as expected. I have an Xbox Series X and I can play it right through there in 4K with no problems :)

I love this movie. The video transfer is a bit of a disappointment; it's too dark and does really have very bright moments even in daylight. And there's no Dolby Atmos track or new special features for this 4K version. If you have the OG Blu-Ray, you'll be ok skipping this.

After contemplating whether I should watch this movie for so long I decided to buy it and I gotta say I don’t regret. The picture quality is great on the 4K disc and I’m also really glad it came with a digital code, another movie added to the collection

Michael Mann's masterpiece finally on 4k. Picture may look a tad dark to some but this is exactly how it looked on 35mm when it came out in 1995. Personally love this look and the sound is just as great as the blu ray. LOUD

Great movie and actors that I have watched multiple times. It’s on blue ray as well as a digital version for Apple play. Always a joy when it works so easily to watch on demand.

One of the best films of all time In the best format of all time. If you haven’t seen Heat, you need to stop what you’re doing and watch it. It is one of the most breathtaking film and it’s a work of art. You have two veteran actors, Pacino and DeNiro going head to head in this captivating cat and mouse story. The 4K blu ray looks gorgeous on even a mid 4K tv. The one scene that it really shines in is the infamous downtown LA battle sequence. For the price too of this 4k blu ray, there is no reason not to have this in your movie collection.

It's a real honor to own one of my favorite movies in 4K (looks pretty good, if a little more blue-tinted than usual for a Michael Mann movie). This banger heist drama still stands the test of time with an underrated narrative and incredible action. Great rewatchable, infinitely quotable, still shocking it didn't get more traction during awards season in 95-96.

Picked this up for $7.99 and it was well worth it. Restoration has this 90's crime classic looking fantastic.

This movie gets a bad rap on 4k. I thought it looked pretty good. If you can get it under 11 bucks like I did. Take the shot it's not that bad really.

I wanted a 4K version of the movie Heat and the price was right. Played it on my OLED TV and it looks and sounds great.

I sure wish best buy still sold physical movies. I really have no reason to buy anything else from them

This is the greatest heist movies I've ever seen, and everyone who is a Pacino and DiNero fan should own this masterpiece. Best Diner scene in movie history if you ask me.
