Hell on the Border follows the western gunslinger vs lawman theme, but beyond that, it was not the typical Cowboy & Indian film, nor the usual Tombstone Arizona Marshal genre. The plot, characters, acting, and historical reference was interesting, and the action was good. Based on the legendary character of Bass Reeves, the first black deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River, who was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons in Arkansas and the Oklahoma Territory, the movie is about the beginning of Bass Reeves' lawman career. The story addresses harsh obstacles and attitudes that Mr. Reeves had to overcome, with ample gunfights throughout.

and that's all. I think the production values left something to be desired and I didn't feel that the actor captured Bass Reeves. Maybe it was too much like an origin story. Wait for network TV.

Slow at times. Fairly cliché. Started me to thinking about Hang 'em High. Liked Perlmans character. A few really hard to accept moments in the story line but overall an ok western

I got this on sale at Best Buy. I was able to shop around to see if I could find a better price for this item. Best Buy was fair and competitive with there pricing and they were very good with the staffing due to the covic-19 virus going around. Everyone was following the safety guidelines.

I read the story of the main character in this movie And I really loved writing about that character. But I don't think this movie got it.

The story was interesting, but not historically accurate about Bass Reeves.

My wife and I were able to see this movie in our local movie theater and were happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and really enjoyed watching it and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.

A different type western, but one to see. Definitely looking at the Wild West from a different perspective. Great movie for a change in the west.

I had such high hopes for this well-intentioned movie until I saw it.There were obvious budget limitations that hampered the storytelling and writing. Even during the director's commentary, there was a sense of frustration. That being said, I thought that this film deserved a better chance of being good. Instead, it is a poor attempt to tell the tale of a landmark American figure whose story is underrated and needs to be told with a proper budget, good direction, and stellar acting. Quite a disappointment, indeed.

This was one of the rew newer Western movies that was good.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!! It is not accurate, does a disservice to the name and legacy of Bass Reeves. Frank and Jesse James would never take up with Bell Starr because of her husband, nor hide out in the nation. Ruffus Buck was about 16 or 17 when he was hung for going on a killing spree in a town. Pinkerton started his agency in the East before coming West. Too much embellishment. NOT WORTH IT!!!
