If you like Westerns then you will like This one. My suggestion is if you have never seen the show, get Season 1 thru Season 5 and watch in order. You will not be disappointed. Lots of action building the Continental Railroad. It follows the building pretty close to history. This is the last segment of this story. At long last the Railroad is complete and the Golden Spike is driven in Utah. The scenery is fantastic. You will want to watch it more, then just once.

Volume 1 starts out with Bohannon finally taking care of his personal enemy "The Swede" and putting closure on the wife and child left behind plotline. From there it's unfinished business with the Railroad and his personal relationships good and bad. Didn't like the fact they separated the final season into two Volumes, but there's plenty of storylines to go around and this Volume holds it own. Enjoy!

I thought I had already reviewed this, but just in case, this is a fantastic series. I had watched all the previous episodes as they happened, but the final season stopped midway. I do not own any of this series, but couldn't wait for the release. I forget how many extras are included on the DVDs, and really appreciated them. I'm going to miss this programme!

AMC did a five year season of a western, focusing on the railroad through the west, hence the title. This DVD was the last series of the production. While one never knew where the story was headed, and many people died during the series - people you did not want to see die - that, actually, was accurate in the Old West. I liked the main character, Mr. Bohanan.

Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) has left the Union Pacific Railroad to search for his wife and son unable to locate them Collis Huntington (Tim Guinee) tells Bohannon if he’d work for him all his resources would be at Cullen disposal. That if his family is out there, they’d find them. Now Bohannon is faced with thousands of Chinese workers, whose language, customs, and traditions he doesn’t know. Our hero comes through instead of digging ditches his new crew must blast through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Bohannon battles new and old enemies while racing to complete the first Transcontinental Railroad.

It's a shame this series over I am not saying that it was history correct but I can only imagine just how hard the journey was to build the RR . There was a awesome cast of actors in this series really hated to see it end and Cullen Bohanen was the James Dean of the show this is a must watch

This was a good ending to a great series! Sometimes you're disappointed in how a series ends. This ending wasn't great but it ended well. Anson Mount gives his usual great performance as Mr. Bohannon.

The entire series is one of the best westerns ever. Audio and video is terrific. Only complaint is how they split the last season into two volumes. An obvious money grab; no wonder Netflix and Hulu and the other streaming services are growing.

AMC did a great job wrapping up the storylines and questions surrounding them. But I will miss the characters, the fact it was a Western (Grew up watching them), and the simple fact it gave me something to watch on Saturdays.

Enjoyed this show since the first season. Good place to end it with the completion of the transcontinental railroad. The evolution of Cullen Bohannon's character over the past five seasons has been great to see. Well done.

I was surprised by how much I loved this series. From the opening scene when the protagonist shoots a dude in the head inside a confessional until he brawls with his coworkers in the very last episode, it was awesome.

Each season of HOW is more exciting than the last as the series moves toward its finale set against the background of the completion of the transcontinental railroad. Exciting drama on track to get to the golden spike.

Part 1 of the Final Season of "H-ll on Wheels" is a great beginning to wrapping up a great but underrated series that didn't get the attention it deserves. It fictionalizes a true story, which is populated with (also fictionalized) true, historical figures. The show is very cinematic. The video and audio are outstanding. Great writing and acting throughout.

The history of the final days of the building of the Transcontinental railroad is depicted in an interesting, emotional, and educational way. It is hard to not watch the whole CD at one sitting!
