I actually bought this tv because it was cheep. I am using it on my deck with an all weather cover when not in use and now I feel guilty! This is a truly stunning tv no matter the price. I have two 4K Samsung TVs and a Dolby Vision 4K Vizio in my home theater and this things runs with the big dogs and holds its own. The Roku interface is fantastic as well. IMO the Roku system closely rivals my 4K Apple TVs for ease of use. My eyes have been opened. You don’t have to go to the top end brands to get amazing picture. Great job Hisense!

I bought this tv as a replacement for a 37" HDTV circa 2010. I decided to purchase it on the strength of the professional reviews, especially from PCMag. I ordered the tv online on 11/18. The next day, I checked the price and it had gone done $30! I chatted with a representative online and the product was eligible for a price match. So, I'm supposed to be receiving a credit for the price difference.
The tv arrived a day earlier than expected. I set it up and as soon as I plugged it in, the set-up started. It connected to my wi-fi quickly and the whole procedure was simple and fast. I already had a Roku device and all of my channels transfered to the tv. So, that was a pleasant surprise. The only downside was that I had to re-sign-in to services such as Netflix. When I did, Netflix gave me the option of upgrading to UHD content.
Despite what the reviews say, the remote offers a fair amount of control over the picture. I was also able to pair the remote (which included voice search and a headphone jack for private listening) from my old Roku to the tv. This ability was never mentioned in any of the reviews. So, that is a significant plus. Both the voice search and the private listening worked perfectly.
Although it's only been a few days, I am very happy with the tv overall. The only downside is the sound; it's not horrible, but not great either.

About this television...I think it has a great picture... I love the Roku interface...plenty of inputs for my accessories.... Shipping was free and fast. I got the TV in like 2 days... I also bought the 5-year Geek Squad protection plan... Which I highly recommend. Because they do stand by their products if anything happens to them and you have a protection plan... I plan to hang the television on the wall, but I haven't gotten the wall hanger yet it's taking longer to get here than the television did.... So the picture you see is not how the television will end up... it will end up being on the wall. But I wanted to show a picture so you can actually see the picture of the television.

Purchased for backyard at pool. Built weather proof cabinet that closes when not in use. Added a wifi extender for a perfect signal and this TV performs great, has a great picture. Time will tell for years of use. Performs like a high end TV. My Samsung days have long been over (JUNK). Thanks Hisense

You have to pay for Rocku tv, to even watch tv, even if you don’t want it. Best Buy does not tell you that. I guess the picture is ok for the price, but I’m use to a clearer picture. I frowned at my tv for a week cause I wasn’t use to watching cartoon looking picture. I had a Lg before this and I miss it.

Pros: Good price. Easy to set up (basically plug it in and it walks you through a few set up maneuvers). I found it easy to use. The sound is pretty good. Headphone jack worked with my non-optical TV Ears and didn't mute the sound. Once I got the controller set up with the app to go to Advanced Settings (I would advise everyone to do this who buys this tv), I was able to click on "Speech" in the advanced audio settings and, blessedly, I was no longer blasted out of the room by music and having to constantly ride the volume control to lower the music and raise the volume for voices. I was able to tinker with the advanced picture controls, until I got a fairly decent picture. These are all good things. If you like Roku (and I do), it's very easy to navigate and use the Roku Settings.
Cons: The picture quality just isn't there. People who have commented on the contrast problem are right. I missed the deep blacks and color saturation of my rather old Samsung (sadly killed by a lightning strike). Even tinkering with the advanced picture settings didn't give a really satisfactory picture. The colors looked washed out, especially during the day. The picture seemed less than sharp. In order to get a better picture during the day, I pretty much had to close all of the blinds. The whites often looked grayish and the blacks looked charcoal - not black.
Granted, I was spoiled by the excellent picture quality on my more expensive Samsung, so if you're looking for a fairly good entry into the Smart TV realm without busting your wallet, this isn't too bad especially if you like Roku.
Sadly, I'm taking it back and paying more for a more upmarket Samsung.

Bought this for my son's room (age 19, so somewhat opinionated about his electronics nowadays!). He'd just gotten an XBox One S and wanted a 4K TV, but I didn't really want to spend big money on a premium brand just to get 4K, since in my area, not much actually streams in 4K, and we rarely buy blu-rays of anything for personal viewing at home. I somehow stumbled across Hisense - I think because Sam's or Costco had a monthly deal on one in the size I was seeking. I read the reviews, and tons of people were comparing it to Samsung (which has historically been my favorite brand in terms of picture quality), and many were saying the picture seemed even better than some of their Samsungs. So I decided to take the leap. I got Best Buy to price match a Costco sale (so that I could get Best Buy reward zone points for the purchase), and we've had the TV for maybe six weeks now.
I have to say I'm impressed with the picture. I really wasn't expecting those reviews comparing them to Samsung to be true, but I actually do think this thing has a better picture than the Samsung TV of the same size that I purchased around the same time! It's amazing. Sound isn't bad in my opinion, but I'm really not too picky about sound. The remote is small, and it's a Roku remote, which seems to bother some people but it doens't bother me because I use my Roku all the time and am totally used to a remote that size/style. Setup was easy & accessing apps we wanted/adding them was also easy.
The only thing that particularly bothers me is the style of the legs. I feel like they're not nearly as sturdy as they could be. Just kind of a cheap-type plastic that doesn't keep the TV from moving a bit from time to time. And it's not just Hisense; other premium brands are styled like this too. This is probably more of a concern for ME because I have cats (and anyone who knows cats knows they go pretty much anywhere & push/rub up against pretty much anything, regardless of whether it's going to get knocked over & kill them on the way down!). So that's just a little thing, and it's a "me thing," but I personally like the center stands on the older generation TVs better.
Other than that, I have no complaints! All in all it's been a great TV for the time we've had it.

I have bought many great TVs from Best Buy over the past ten years as I equipped several homes for myself and close family members.
But this Hisense 50" 4K HDR is right at the top in both quality and features.
Two years ago I bought a Hisense 50" 4K HDR TV and thought I would never see another one better than it. However, Hisense proved me wrong with this model. The picture is just outstanding, the sound is rich and full and the Roku features are amazing.
The implementation of HDR technology on this set is really superb. The color range is very wide and the image detail in darker scenes is amazing. Also, this TV has 120 Hz image processing which enhances sports-viewing.
The Roku platform gives direct access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Hulu, Vudu and hundreds of other streaming services. The WiFi connection is solid (802.11ac) and supports both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks. It also has an Ethernet connection if you want to connect it by an Ethernet cable to your router.
I have been very pleased with this TV and give it my highest recommendation!

We were looking for a decent Roku TV built in for our living room, we were looking around and noticed that Best Buy had this Hisense on sale for $249. It was the cheapest 50in they had with Roku built in. I figured I would give it a shot. Taking it out of the box was simple, as was getting the feet installed. One thing that I don't like is that the tv has a little bit of a wobble back and forth, they must have cut corners with the build of the actual TV to get the cost down. I must say that the picture is absolute beautiful. The sound is actually as good as my Vizio and Samsung TVS. One thing about the remote that I like is its frequency based, and you don't have to point it at the TV. I have had this for a little over a month, generally 6-8 hours a day being on, and its wonderful. I would recommend this tv if you are looking for a great tv, at a great price! If anything changes I will update this review.

Bought to replace an old Sanyo flat screen that finally went out after 12 years of usage. It's in an enclosed cabinet I built and hung on the backside of the fireplace. I researched for a couple weeks trying to find an inexpensive Smart TV that would meet the dimensions of my cabinet. After minor altering of two internal corner braces, it fit very nicely.
We've also had a 55" Hisense Smart Roku TV for about 3 years that gets a lot of use. No complaints at all, hence purchasing another.
Picture and sound quality from the pool (about 35' away) are really good. Sitting 10-12' away on the patio is as expected...Very good!
Overall....Very pleased for the price. Also purchased the 5 year warranty just in case.

I bought this tv for my brother & the set-up walkthrough was simple. The remote is simple & has very few buttons. The picture adjustment menu is easy to navigate and installing apps is quick & easy.
QUALITY- Sound is loud & clear. The color is bright & has a full spectrum. The only negative is the clarity of the picture is not crystal clear but what do you expect from a 55" 4K tv for under $300. It's still way better quality picture than any 1080 HDTV & well worth $300. I have a 2018 Samsung 65" curved 4k that cost $3000 & is the highest quality picture I've ever seen. I've also bought 2018 Samsung 55" & 42" for my parents & the picture quality is better but the cost is double & you really need to know what you are doing when adjusting the picture settings if you want to optimize the picture quality in the new Samsungs. For the $300 price the Hisense 55" 4K is as good as your going to get

Overall this has been a great purchase. It is our 3rd Hisense TV purchase. The picture is great and set up was a breeze! We don’t have a sound system hooked up to it but the speakers do a good job for our needs. We watch a ton of movies but don’t have the need for surround sound in our apartment. My one criticism would be there is only one 4K hdmi port. As 4K cable is not an option in our area, it is not a big deal for us. We use our 4K port for our 4K Blu-ray player. The remote is pretty basic but not a big deal as our cable remote runs all the TV functions. We decided to order a second remote by calling Hisense customer service and it was a great experience. They were friendly and gave very quick service. Overall a great value and we will continue to support Hisense.

This was a tv to replace my 40" I had outside by the pool. I was trying to get a cheap tv but something that would last a little and show decent. My previous tv lasted about 5yrs and was still working fine I just upgraded my patio and wanted a bigger tv. Well this tv had me 2nd guessing myself until I fired it up! The picture was bright and clear, the Roku app built in is a big plus and perfect for entertaining (with the different music apps and games, etc.). I have it hooked to my existing patio speakers and it's great! The sound quality without speakers is also great. The picture quality is wonderful! It's really more than I expected for the price I paid. I got it on sale for $239 at bestbuy so I figured if I got a yr out of it I got my money's worth, however this thing may be around for a while!
