Customers are positive about the picture quality, price, setup, design, remote control, HDR, upscaling, connectivity, and refresh rate. They appreciate the excellent picture quality and speed, find the TV to be a great value for the price, and mention that it is easy to set up. Customers also love the beautiful design, the inclusion of a real remote, and the improved HDR and upscaling capabilities. Additionally, they appreciate the good connectivity options and the 120hz refresh rate.On the downside, customers are negative about the smart TV features, motion blur, and limited apps. They express dissatisfaction with the limited selection of apps, the presence of mostly unknown apps in the app store, and the limited functionality of the Opera platform. Some customers also experience motion blur, but this can be resolved by turning off the motion enhancement feature.

Mind Blowing Picture for old Plasma fans

I am personally blown away, as is everyone in my household with this Hisense H9D Plus. Coming from a 2016 Model Samsung 4K TV, the Hisense has a much better HDR color gamut and the motion rate is much better. Also, 120HZ makes for seamless sports watching, no trails, just smooth. The brightness of the TV is not overdone, the Samsung always would be too bright, even after a full calibration. The Hisense is a lot darker, deeper colors, which reminds me of the plasma TVs.
You will read of many magazines and blogs about how this TV is not bright. Remember when TV used to not be bright, and the black's actually looked black and the grey's were not washed out? This is a TV for any ex Plasma TV enthusiast, I hate these new TV's, they only try to be the brightest because we have been conditioned to want the brightest and most blinged out thing we see.
The menus are easy and look great, setup is super fast and the 4K streaming through apps look great, but even better with a true 4K BluRay player. I currently own a LG 4K player and have a few movies, with HDR capability, this is where this TV just made my Samsung look horrible. This TV brought me back to the days of no eye strain and beautiful dark colors and plasma like brights.
The sound is also perfect from a TV, very clear and surprisingly decent low tone sounds.
The Pros:
Plasma Like Picture
Brightness levels are perfect
Great looking menus
480 Fast Motion Rate
120Hz
Easy setup
Stands are strong and heavy
Remote is easy to use
Sound is great
Lots of connections
Up Convert does very well
Low Glare from lights
Cons:
This TV is 25 lbs more than my Samsung, it is way too heavy.
This is now my favorite TV out, Hisense came out of nowhere with this one, they have gained my business.

First 4K HDR TV and I like IT!

This is a great TV and I'm very happy with it so I will start with what you are most likely looking for, what is the picture like. The rest, the setup etc will be after.
**Picture/Use***
Before this TV I had your standard HD TV, and was happy, games looked good, Blu-Rays looked nice and didn't know why I should upgrade, just more Pixels. Well the reason you need this TV is HDR. That just makes the screen POP! I mean really Pop. To give an example, one of my kids booted up Minecraft and someone not looking at the screen just saw the output from the TV and went WOW. It is wow. The 4K, from things like 4K Blu-Rays looks great. Games, even though I don't have a 4K Machine, can still use the HDR feature and they pop. The picture is amazing. In games I was impressed. What I can't answer games is the display lag. There is a both an HDR Gaming Mode and a Standard Gaming mode and the TV seem to respond a bit better in that mode for me, but I'm not equipped to say hey this is great for Gaming or not. For me, playing Mass Effect: Andromeda, Hitman or Forza Horizon 3 (all HDR Titles I believe). Looked good and played well, so if there is lag, it is fine for game playing. Movies look awesome. Again there are a lot of different modes, and I played around with them until I found one that I liked, and tried Wonder Woman, since that was handy 4K title I had near me. I loaded up the attack on Veld scene where she enters No Man's Land and it looked great. The Color seemed great, At least I don't feel like I need to muck around with it, seemed great to me. This TV does Black levels pretty well, though since the screen of the TV is Semi glossy it seems to reflect, while watching a movie or playing a game I didn't notice, only when the whole screen was black, so it doesn't seem to be an issue to me, but it may drive some people a bit nuts. The Picture again was great. In Wonder Women I could see the freckles on young Diana, something I didn't see before when I watching on my HD TV using the same 4K UHD. So the color contrast and again to me POP is awesome.
Motion is clear, since this is a try 120HZ panel I didn't have any issues in the games or the movie where it seemed blurry and there are plenty of options to tweak depending on what you need, and I haven't gotten that far.
For those people who might want to hook up there Battle Station via HDMI to this TV to drive 4K 60HZ for gaming, this TV supports 4:4:4 chroma, and looked good to, esp. since I was just using to try out a few games I had at true 4K. Something like the new Tomb Raider at 4K was amazing, and again the display lag for that seemed fine to me for a Tomb Raider game, however I didn't try something like Overwatch so I can't say if you are playing something that is a bit faster if this will work or not.
Viewing angles are excellent on this device, moving around the room I didn't have any issues with sitting or standing at an odd angle that impacting my viewing.
TLDR: Picture is great and clear. Black to bright levels seems great (Though I haven't been exposed to other HDR sets so I can't compare). Black is good and contrast seems very nice able to see the different details. Action and motion I had no issues with, but I don't watch sports so I can't comment if that is your Jam.
**Audio**
This TV is loud. I mean that in a good way. I used to have a sound bar hooked up to my old TV to help when watching movies etc. No more. This TV out of the box has loud and clear audio that I won't need the sound bar. This is awesome, it has been a long time since I've had a TV that was "loud".
***Unboxing***
Setup is fairly easy. Getting it out of the box it is important to note that you take the clips from the bottom of the box out by pinching. There are four, two on each side and lift the box top itself out leaving the TV. Tv looked nice, but please keep an eye on the back of the TV there are some tiny screws on the top. Two of ours came loose in the shipping and lucky we saw them and were able to put them back. Not a big deal, just something I had to deal with. Once that is done the 65" TV uses a standard VESA mount 400x400 so that is handy in getting it wall mounted (You of course have to provide your own - the TV comes with feet if not wall mounting that you need install). Though if you are wall mounting you will have to take off these round handle like things. Directions didn't mention that and took a few seconds to understand those could come out. Once they were taken out, getting the mount in place was no big deal and for a large TV this weights under 90lbs so my wife and I had no issues lifting it (carefully from the edges) to mount. Once mounted this thing looks great. It has a slim bezel of all metal (taking the protective tape off was fun). It just looks very nice sitting in a room.
**TV Setup**
This TV supports both Wireless and LAN for the smart TV, so if you don't have a handy Cat5e cable near your TV, then it can connect to wireless. It connected with no issues to my newer AC wireless router, so even if you have one of the latest routers don't worry about getting this on your Wireless network. Only thing I can't confirm if the Wireless AC Card in the TV supports MU-MIMO or not. Just handy when the whole house is using the Wi-Fi. Overall though I appreciate the choice as most devices these days tend to just be wireless since its easier, so I like the option. Anyways, once the TV turns it asks a few simple questions, like Time Zone, preferred language, network to connect and then checks for any new firmware and asks to update. In my case there was a newer firmware and I let the TV update. It took about 10 minutes or so. Not a huge deal. No need to install the major apps, it already has the ones you most likely use already set. YouTube, Amazon Video, Netflix, Vudu and Pandora. It has in all 20, but if you got Netflix, Amazon and YouTube that will keep a lot of us happy these days. Control with the remote is easy and straight forward, and if you can't find the remote to the bottom left of the TV they have a little joystick you can use to control the function too, again a nicer touch. Once the firmware and everything is done it asks you which input to make primary. You can of course pick none, or choose one to as a default. You can also rename them, which is handy. Overall you have 4 HDMI ports to connect, as well as a host of others, including 3 USB ports. Of the 4 HDMI only two support the newer HDMI 2 standard (hi speed I think) for 4K at 60hz, so if you have more than 2 devices that can drive 4K 60hz then you'll need to look for a splitter. The high speed HDMI ports are next to the USB ports and are labelled so keep that in mind. Additionally as I was setting up the XBOX ONE S to test HDR gaming etc, I noticed it didn't believe my TV or cable could. I knew that to be wrong since I had all the proper cables and the TV should. It was after a quick glance at the online User Guide (not included with the TV) that I noticed I needed to set my High Speed HDMI ports to Enhanced. Why this isn't the default I don't know, however once set I was in for the ability to use the TV to the fullest. You can find the URL listed in the Quick Start guide that came with the TV, in the front.
**APPS**
The Smart TV feature works well. I streamed a few movies and didn't have any issues/crashes in my tests. Movies and videos started and played well. So this feature works and its handy if I don't want to boot up another device to stream.
**TDLR**
This TV has a great picture, screen is a bit too glossy so full black can reflect the room lights a bit, but only really noticed when the whole TV went to black, watching the movies/games I never noticed. HDR or whatever Voodoo this TV does seems to make everything Pop and look great and the details are amazing. Picture is clear and able to keep up with motion. I am very happy with TV and picture and look forward to enjoying my movies and games a lot more.
Again let me say I'm a Happy Customer.

This TV is great with excellent picture and clarity. The sound is probably the best you can get without a sound bar, I simply did not want the extra expense and hassle of buying a sound bar and I could not be happier with this TV purchase. Simply to operate and it out performs most TVs in its price class!

Something Not Right With This TV

Lovely picture, decent sound. Streaming with native app's is questionable. I can stream the same content with an external device just fine (chromecast for example), Using native app's does not work well even with "unlimited" bandwidth. Clearly a SW issue. No SW updates available since purchase. This model is no longer available, hmm.

I bought this TV to replace an aging plasma TV and I am not disappointed. I do have 2 other TVs in the house, 1 high end 3D 4K and another mid range one. I was skeptical if this TV would connect with my noise cancelling Bluetooth headphone, but it was a "charm" and easy to connect. the color quality is not as par as the high end 3D TV I have, but it is not that bad. and that is why I gave it 4 stars.

Received my Hisense 65H9D Plus Smart TV a few days ago and have been putting it through it’s paces. After carefully removing it from the box (making sure to follow the unpacking instruction carefully, by removing the black clips at the bottom of the box), with the assistance of a friend, we carefully laid it down on my bed to install the 2 base support legs. Then I attached the power cord to the back and sat it in the upright position and plugged the cord in. I the connected all of my current devices through the HDMI ports all of which are 4K (2 @ 60Hz and 2 @ 30Hz). Not quite sure if this was user error or a small design flaw, but I really struggled with the first HDMI port on the side panel. Could be because I wanted to ensure I wasn’t applying too much pressure (especially a few days later after I got it connected to a swivel TV stand). The 2nd HDMI port wasn’t as bad, and the 3rd/4th ports were fine with no issues. After having a bad experience with Hisense a couple years ago (a cracked screen from another retailer), I was hoping all was well with the screen as I was about to hit the power button. And thank God, the screen was immaculate. Upon pressing the power button on the remote, I was greeted briefly with the Hisense name brand logo. It then continued with a brief setup process which included Language, Location, and Time Zone. After accepting the usual long user agreement it was ready for WiFi connection which was quick and easy. Something I really liked was it allowed me to set which Input Source I wanted to be my Primary Input Source. Never seen that in another set before.
Familiarizing myself with the largish remote was fairly self-explanatory and pretty much basic. At the bottom of the remote are designated buttons for Netflix, VUDU, Fandango, YouTube, and Amazon. Hitting the Menu button (which looks like a dialogue bubble) took me to where I could begin tweaking the set to my personal preference. For Picture Mode: there’s HDR Vivid, HDR Standard, HDR Energy Saving, HDR Theatre, HDR Game, HDR Sport, and HDR Calibrated. After going through all of the different modes, I’m sticking with HDR Vivid for the time being as the colors really seem to pop under this mode. Under Advanced Picture Options, you can adjust things as Judder Reduction, Blur Reduction as well as Motion Enhancement. These also are all based on user preferences and allow you to increase, decrease, or completely turn them off in some instances. Motion Enhancement is another favorite of mine in the menu and I can set it to have objects/people move almost flawlessly without blurring. This may be something that you may need to change based on the content you’re watching. But personally I love the Smooth Motion setting. Aside from the Picture Mode, you can also set the Sound as well under the settings
Pressing the Home Button in the center of the remote takes you to the SmartTV menu which includes: Notifications (any information that needs attention), Apps (somewhat of an App Store that can be downloaded to the set), Inputs (which lists all 8 different input ports), Media (which allows you to connect USB drives to the TV), Settings, and Edit (which allows you to add anything pretty much to the home screen: inputs, apps, channels, etc). Using the remote, one can’t help but notice there is a bit of a lag, something I’m not sure if it can be tweaked through a software update or if its just flawed as is. All in all I must say that I really like this TV; could it be a little speedier when it comes to using the remote, of course, can the different options as far as setting in picture quality be a little more detailed, of course, but its a really nice 4K set. HDR makes a huge difference. My previous set was 4K but did not have HDR and I can totally tell the difference between the 2 sets.
Although there’s not currently a ton of 4K content, there are some major sources of 4K content available for cord-cutters like myself, through the likes of iTunes and Netflix (all of which looks amazing on this Hisense 65H9D Plus Smart TV set).
