Whatever you do; buy the extended warranty from Best Buy because Hisense does not care about you once they have your money. It's so bad, Best Buy should be ashamed to carry their product.
TV started having color problems a few months after purchase, specifically every time I transitioned between apps like HBO Max / Apple TV / Netflix, etc. I thought it was the HD cable and the issue was intermittent so I didn't think much of it.
This TV has hung safely on my wall since purchase. My wife and I watched a favorite show then went to bed, TV worked fine...until it just didn't. The very next morning I fired it up and this is what I have. Lines through the screen.
Initially I wasn't worried because the TV is 4 months old, this is obviously defective and should be covered under the Manufacturer's Warranty. Well...Hisense customer service is a nightmare and they suggested I broke my TV. Here is their response:
"Our team of specialists reviewed your case and it was determined that the TV screen is damage. Please bear in mind that while the outer screen may not show a crack, the inner LCD screen is broken, causing lines in the screen or bleeding. Having said, this is considered an accidental and physical damage, which is not covered under out manufacturer's warranty, as such, unable to repair any parts of this unit.
We do not sell replacement screen."
DO NOT BUY HISENSE WITHOUT A WARRANTY.

The U6G is Hisense's entry level Quantum dot ULED TV. It has HDR, local dimming, an excellent VA panel, and a plethora of features.
The U6G is a huge improvement when it comes to smarts over my H9F. The H9F has a great picture, but the U6G is just as good even though it's a tier below the H9F. The Android TV is a huge improvement over what was offered in the H9F, with no real lags, or lock ups.
Despite being a mid-range (entry ULED) the input select is excellent. You even get legacy composite via a included phono jack if you have legacy. ARC is supported, and I'm using an LG sound bar to great effect.
The picture is an improvement over the H9F in almost every way. Despite being a 75" TV, the panel uniformity is really good. Brightness is searing in the evenings, so sunglasses may be required. The HDR support is really good as well, and picture mode changes quickly to support.
The refresh rate is 60hz, and non-variable. This is probably the biggest downside for gaming or PC usage. That said, if it isn't a factor for you, then it's a non-issue. Inputs sometimes swap automatically like they should with HDCP - but there's a longer delay that some TVs. My Switch never seems to do it right, but I'm not sure if that's Nintendo or Hisense's fault.
Sound on the TV is ok. It's better than some, but obviously can only do so much. A sound bar pairs well, but you can make due depending on your use case. I might say if you're on a smaller version to pass on the sound bar, as it's pretty good.
Be aware that the 75" is definitely a 400x400mm VESA mount. I wall mounted mine, and it is definitely a 2 person job. The stands stock sit pretty wide, so be careful with placement if you're not wall mounting.
Overall the Hisense U6G in 75" form is an amazing value. Being only a little more expensive than the cheapest 75" TVs, this brings color, blacks, dimming zones, full HDR support, and ULED (quantum dot) support to the table. Couple that with an excellent Android TV implementation, the U6G is worth the price to entry.

2 Versions of a great TV - VA and ADS(IPS)
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
There are 2 versions of this Hisense 75" U6G. I own both.
The original version has a VA panel and is 350 watts. The newer version has an ADS (IPS) panel and is 300 watts.
Once their settings are tuned, both have great picture quality, but their different panel types result in different strengths. As expected, the 300w ADS/IPS version has better wide viewing angles. The 350w VA version has inky-dark blacks, most noticeable when viewing dark content from a dark room.
I have a family member with a 65" U6G (VA panel) who lives close by for direct comparison.
The 350w version has blacks as inky as the 65. The pixel pictures from my 350w 75" and my family member's 65" match. They're also the same as those posted on rtings.com in the comments section for the U6G, that rtings confirmed as VA. This TV is only watched by us at night, with seating that is straight-on, so the perfect setup for a VA panel.
Pixel pictures from my 300w 75" match those identified on Rtings and AVS forums as ADS/IPS. It's mounted in my billiards room where the wider viewing angles are valuable. In that room, that always has daylight or lights on when watching the TV, the difference in blacks was not noticed by anyone until I read the VA/IPS debate and watched dark content at night with the lights off. The blacks are dark, but not inky-black dark, and only noticed (by me) in the dark room with dark content.
Settings have to be tuned a bit on both to change the pictures from good to great; the default settings are not good. There are good baseline suggestions on Rtings, Consumer Reports, and AVS forums, with disabling of the picture enhancement features being some of the most important. Once that's done, both are great TVs, each with different strengths.
How to tell which is which (I've attached a few example pictures):
Looking at the back of the original 350w VA version:
- it has 3 flat horizontal lines across the top half
- the upper edge of the lower half that holds the electronics is curved
- the very bottom that holds the speakers sticks out a little more
- the tag with the TV serial number is tilted sideways and says "350 watts"
- it has a 600 x 300 VESA pattern
- it has only 1 leg width option
Looking at the back of the newer 300w ADS version:
- the top half has 2 curved lines that look similar to a split letter "M"
- the lower half that holds the electronics is completely flat, including the bit that holds the speakers at the very bottom
- it has a 400 x 300 VESA pattern
- the tag with the TV serial number is level and says "300 watts"
- it has 2 leg width options

What a decent TV.
I'll get to the point.
What I Like : The value for money is decent. I get HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ with a snappy android user interface. Response through HDMI ports is great but not fantastic. It has local dimming. Great picture quality and excellent colors.
What I dont like: Within 2 weeks i was seeing some digital banding (as if someone was pressing on the screen) while watching youtube. Turned the TV off and on again and that went away. Also, every now and then I see a a flicker, as if the display cant keep up with the digital information being put out. Like a stutter in 24fps but much more noticeable. When switching between apps quickly I can see the "computer" working and opening up whatever app I've selected. Its like when clicking on a desktop application and a window pops up loading that app... that's what I see. Lastly The local dimming has blooming that is very noticeable in dark rooms. Speakers are ehh...ok.
I bought this TV to replace my Q90R and when stepping down from that to this TV, I can see a huge difference in the quality of it. I would not recommend this as a home cinema TV.
However, I would recommend it as a casual TV/Gaming/Movie/sports tv. its perfect.

I was looking at Samsung Crystal HD and QLED for some good deals on TVs and I noticed even on the pricier QLED models I looked at, there’s no local dimming to maximize contrast to get the claimed HDR results. That’s when research pointed me to this Hisense model.
I would have never given this brand a thought if it didn’t pop up as highly reviewed and had local dimming plus all the features I was looking for.
I was skeptical when I bought it and unboxed it, but once I booted it up and streamed 4k content, I was sold. It has just enough adjustments to get the picture and motion to where I want it.
For the price for this size of TV, I am super happy with my purchase. Is it as good as my LG OLED? Naw, totally different tech and price point, but they’re equally enjoyable in their designated rooms.

This TV has nothing special about it. It's has good picture quality and good color and the dimming zones are great. But it has little issues that take away from the good. I have issues with sound over ARC disabling after working fine for weeks. It will not recognize the HDMI ARC connection and the only way to fix it is to disconnect the sound bar and reconnect it. Maybe a compatibility issue as I have a Vizio sound bar. Another issue is that you have to run a cache clear routinely or it will start to lag. It also loses wifi connection for no reason whatsoever, it doesn't bother me since I use a Fire Stick for the most part but the "no wifi connection" notification can cause confusion and annoyance. Like I said at the beginning of this review, it's not bad but it's not great either. The "average" rating that I have given it seems a perfect rating.

I have owned two 75U6G now. The first one was purchased through a different retailer (WM) and I had concerns that it was a return or open box purely based upon how the box appeared when shipped. The screen ended up being defective and it resulted in Hisense issuing a refund (dealing with Hisense customer service was not the best experience- warranty repair techs were sent out with incorrect problems/symptoms, and you never speak to anyone at Hisense that can ACCURATELY track the status of your claim. This was definitely the worst aspect of owning this TV)
The second unit I purchased was from Best Buy and I could immediately tell that it was not previously opened or messed with (kudos to BB).
Set up of the TV was quite easy, but the settings are WAY off out of the box. I used the calibration settings and video found on RTINGS.com to find a happy medium and this TV really continues to impress me. Motion is handled well, colors are vibrant, blooming isn't horrible by any means. There is some banding that is observed, but nothing too horrible that it ruins the viewing experience.
Additionally, this TV is used for a fair amount of gaming, and it handles 4K signals well. I was debating going for the 75U7G for the 120hz panel but I think unless you are a hardcore gamer, you can save yourself a few hundred dollars and go with the U6 (plus the 75" U7 is an IPS panel vs this one's VA panel)
OTA TV signal is good but not amazing- but I don't have a true antenna receiving the signal so that could play a part in it (it is still a very watchable picture)
If this is going to be your MAIN TV, and you're not looking at OLED, I would maybe give consideration to the U8G (but it only tops out at 65") or the TCL R646 or the Sony X90J as this TV could use to have a few more bells and whistles if its a primary household unit. However, if this is a secondary TV, like it is in my family, this is great option and covers all the bases very well.

This TV has a really good picture and sound for its price point. I am a value shopper and do my research before making purchases. I unfortunately did have a defect that plagued the tV after about eight months of ownership. The technical support from the manufacture was pretty good and they sent a tech to my house and was able to repair the TV in a timely manner so kudos to the manufacturer for standing behind their warranty, overall I am really happy with this purchase and for the price point I think you will be too

This is massively budget friendly TV. It has great image quality, we use it for watching movies in a dark room and have found it has very good black levels, especially for the price. Biggest complaint I have this TV is the number of ads on the Home Screen and app store, so we use this TV disconnect from the internet with a separate set top box.

3 months of researching 75" tv's including going into the store to look at pictures. there were so many technically detailed systems in a tv that create the final picture. crucial were rtings.com reviews and useful was consumer reports. at end i was essentially an expert. i bought what i thought was the perfect tv for my budget, an LG. bestbuy gave me an extended return window of several months. i did not open the tv and watched the black friday and xmas sales in case a better tv or deal emerged. in that time more research convinced me that sony was a better overall tv. i returned the lg and got a sony. bestbuy even picked it up no charge! with still almost a month left in my return window i learned that sony, at my price point, was nowhere near as good as the hisense. i cancelled the sony before delivery and bought the hisense. i was amazed at the quality of the hisense especially for the price. the colors are fantastic, the blacks are the best non-oled and the local dimming is usually pretty good! i couldnt believe my luck with bestbuys purchasing, delivery and returns systems all done online. they were directly responsible for me getting the tv picture that i was hoping for at far less than budgeted. without them, i would have opened the lg or taken delivery of the sony. then, bestbuy lowered the hisense price another $200 around xmas after i had paid for it. i called them and they refunded me the $200 in a price guarantee policy. i couldnt believe these guys and their overall shopping system. i have been a bestbuy in-store customer since they opened. i did not know that service like this existed anywhere. bestbuy has earned my loyalty. as tv prices come down, i will continue to get bigger and better ones, all purchased from bestbuy. thank you so much!

Exceptional TV especially for price. This is a great TV as good as any mid-level LED. Is this an OLED or top tier QLED no but to get a comparable name brand TV you'd pay 2 to 3 times the price. Well worth it. I use the TV in the living room bright light doesn't affect this TV also i went right to soundbar so cant judge sound but the arc works great with my 10 year old 5.1 system actually sounds better than it ever has.

I absolutely love this TV. Upgraded from a 2010 60" LG THX 1080p Plasma. We cut the cable a couple years ago and relied on a Roku Ultra to stream content. This TV, with built in Android, eliminates the need for the Roku. Great picture, especially with 4k content blows the LG out. Very exceptional contrast and bright vivid colors. Don't let the brand name discourage your decision when purchasing a new TV. In my humble opinion, this TV is better than any other TV within similar specs.

What a surprise at such a great price point. I’m usually highly critical of Hisense TVs and usually only purchase Vizio or Samsung. But after researching looking for a new tv for my movie room and seeing continually this model was getting high marks I had to give it a try. It has a very clear crisp image with vibrant colors and overall performs extremely well whether you watching a movie or show via streaming, 4K player, or watching videos on YouTube. My only negative critique is that when it comes to fast moving images or scenes in action movies etc it can sometime miss a few steps and has to almost buffering the image from the center out which can sometimes cause flicker in the dark areas of the picture mostly on notice it when watching a movie in 16:9 letterbox (widescreen). You can counteract that happening with a few settings but it will dim the picture some and try to play whatever content in lower tones. Aside from that, I genuinely really enjoy this tv and watching movies on it. For the size (75”), the price (a little under $1200), and the pretty consistent higher quality performance is great. Hisense might really have something with this model and I’m curious to see where they go as a brand from here

Looking for a bigger tv i went searching. The tv i wanted that had what i wanted was pricey. I kept looking and came across this which had full array which was important to me. It was half the price if the brand name tv i wanted. I had never thought of purchasing a brand other than the big ones but for the price and after reading reviews i thought i would try it. Glad i did. This tv has a good picture out of the box but even better after some calibration to your taste. Comparing to vizio and sony i have it is much better than my vizio and comparble to sony but at half the price. Hisense just made a tv for regular people who just want a great picture for a reasonable price and dont need anything extra. Yes the refresh rate is 60 and you might get some motion blur at times but to me the price and picture are well worth the tradeoff.

Gaming on this TV is cool too; the graphics pop and everything runs smoothly. Definitely a great buy for anyone who loves watching sports or playing games."
