Home is a great addition to a 3D library of titles. Best Buy had this on sale for 24.95 so for the 3D Blu Ray, Blu Ray, DVD plus the digital download, you really couldn't go wrong. If you wanted to pass on one of the other versions to a child, or grandchild, you'd still have at least 3 others. The 3D depth is good, and the movie is funny and would hold up to repeat viewings.

Seen in the theater but had to get the DVD for the extras. Wish it could of had a music video of JLO "Feel The Light" even if it could of been her on the studio with movie in background, that would have been cool.

Once again we visit two tried and true plot devices: Stranger in a Strange Land and The Hero's Journey. This colorful and humorous outing is directed by Tim Johnson ("Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas") with a screenplay written by Tom Astle and Matt Ember ("Epic") based on the novel by Adam Rex. This animated PG movie from DreamWorks is entertaining; even the title sequence has a good laugh. Of course the adults find this story more predictable than the children; on the other hand adults are amused by many, many bits that go right over the youngsters' heads (e.g., a reference to metric tools). The voices provided by Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory") as the alien Oh and Rihanna ("Annie" - 2014) as earthling Tip are outstanding and mesh perfectly with the excellent animation that conveys their emotions to a "T." They get able assistance from Steve Martin ("The Big Year") and Jennifer Lopez ("Ice Age"), as voices for the self-centered Captain Smek and Tip's sweet mother Lucy, respectively. As is the case with a movie like this, I prefer to focus on what a child (and a parent) might take away: * The importance of friendship: despite a rocky beginning between two very dissimilar beings, friendship is an essential part of life. * Through the eyes of an alien, we see things we view as ordinary: The purring of a cat.... ice cream ("frozen sweetened bovine secretion"). * Remember "Knock-knock" jokes? * The irresistibility of rhythm: watch Oh react to music on the radio. * Tell-tale colors: Oh turns green when he tells a lie and the children in our screening audience spotted it right away. * The longing for family: Oh lost his parents long ago and Tip is trying to find her mother. * Oh is always upbeat and sees the best in everything. "This is the best day EVER!" and "This is the best hiding place in the Milky Way!" * See how difficult it is to cancel an E-vite once the invitation is sent in error ("Reply All"). The plot became a bit convoluted before the inevitable happy ending, but our screening audience was cheerful and chatty as we exited the theater. When people react like this to a movie, I know they had a good time.

I got this movie on sale. When I purchased the film I had no clue how much I would enjoy this movie. I watched this film at least 4 or 5 times. This movie is freaking awesome. I love the connections between the characters especially the bond established between Tip & Oh. I cannot forget pig that cat is so cute and funny. The Boov are aliens who believe they are smarter and better than the human beings. The Boov transported the humans to another world while the Boov live on Earth. However, one human named Gratuity "Tip" Tucci is still on Earth with her cat Pig. Tip searches for her mother, instead she bumps into Oh. I don't want to give anything else away. But the movie is cool. I would definitely recommend seeing this film.

We originally ordered this movie On Demand and really enjoyed it, but sadly it only lasted for 48 hours. My 3 year old daughter asked to watch it again so many times after it expired that I decided to buy it. I searched other sites for a great deal on the combo pack (BluRay and DVD) because we have a BluRay player in the living room but only a DVD player in the kid's room. I found that Best Buy had the better deal and better shipping options. The movie itself is AMAZING! Such a cute story and adorable characters. The story is interesting enough for children ages 0 to 100 years old. We were all laughing out loud. It has its sweet moments as well. My 3 year old absolutely loved Ohh (the main alien character). Very well written story and great animation.

I originally rented this movie for my kids on a spur of the moment whim. We kept it for 3 days and my children begged for it for a month. I found it at Best Buy and immediately ordered it. I can say that as an adult, I absolutely love this movie. It is very unique and fun with an emphasis on family and friendship. The music is wonderfully performed by Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez who also play daughter and mother roles, of a mixed racial family, which I absolutely love. All in all this was a wonderful surprise of a movie for me and I think I may enjoy it even more than my children do.

Again, I'm new to 3D and this is my second 3D review. First, if you like Jim Parsons voice, you'll love this movie. This is a great family movie. Ok, 3D .... My grandkids (6 & 9 years old), were running around the living room and trying to pop bubbles, and catch objects. They loved it. My wife and I also watched it, and we give the 3D two thumbs up...! We got this movie last week (08/01/2018) for $9.99 at Best Buy on line, and it's well worth the purchase if you like cartoons and 3D...!

We bought this movie as a surprise for our kids (ages 4,4 & 7) thinking it would be a nice change of pace and something to keep them occupied for a couple of hours while we did some things around the house. Boy, were we wrong. Within minutes of starting the movie we were glued to the tv as much as the kids. What started as a gift for the kids and something fun for them turned into a gift for all of us that was beyond fun. Funny, touching, and heart warming, Home was a wonderful movie that the whole family can enjoy.

On one of our other movies, Home came on as a sneak peek. Seeing how well our kids reacted to it, I decided to add it to our growing DVD collection (for the minivan). Believe it or not, Jim Parsons and Rihanna work well together. Steve Martin plays a great supporting character. The kids enjoy the music throughout the the movie too, even Jacob Plant's "Drop That." It's been several weeks now and it's being played in heavy rotation in the minivan. Definitely a great original choice!

The concept of the movie seemed strange at first. But after watching it with my daughter a couple times on Netflix last year, the characters and story really started to grow on me. They do a good job of balancing two different people who should be at odds with each other, but once they open themselves up and trust each other they accomplish great things. My daughter needs to here more stories like this in the current political climate.

I went into buy a movie for my Granddaughter to watch after a book she was just finishing up. I bought the wrong movie. It was the movie Holes I was suppose to buy. I purchased Home. They really liked this one though. The six yr old never left her seat. The oldest out of the six who just turned nine and the reason for buying the movie said "It's all good Gram we really really like this one but will you go tomorrow and buy the correct one please?"

This is another great release by Dreamworks! Sweet and funny - Jim Parsons and Rihanna are fantastic! I would say that the content is geared towards a younger audience than their previous titles, but still totally enjoyable for ALL ages! The 3D is stellar! (Expect great depth, not generic pop outs though.) Go for the 3D upgrade without hesitation, it's the way to watch this one.

On its own, it's a very funny film. I you watch the show on TV starring the voice of the lead character, you'll recognize him and when you do, it makes the viewing experience even better. It's a fun, non-threatening film for the family with a couple of good minor lessons in it that even children will enjoy. I highly recommend it. I purchased the 3D "Party Edition".

Bought this movie on a Black Friday sell or should I say steal. Practically giving away one of the cutest children's movies with a great story. This movie keeps both adults and children entertained which says a lot about a movie. Overall the animation was great, the music is awesome!!!! And we have watched this movie over and over since buying it!!! Definitely would recommend for adults with small children.
