I placed an online order for the Geek Squad to determine the reason my wi-fi was so spotty in my house after purchasing a NETGEAR Nighthawk router from our local Best Buy. I tried to schedule the appointment and after numerous transfers I was told someone would call me back. They did call me back today and was told it would be a week before anyone could come out a week from tomorrow, and they would need a 4-hour window with no pre-call opportunity so I can stay at work until a technician arrived. I asked for a refund. It is still showing on my online account.

I am a senior citizen and while I use the computer daily I am technologically challenged when problems develop. I decided to use the Geek Squad to improve my wi fi home network and to set up my own modem. I couldn't be happier with the choice. It was a delight to watch them spend two hours to set up a new router and my own modem and make sure things worked properly. I couldn't have done it myself.

When we moved to our new home, I knew we had a lot of things that used WiFi. My husband and I both have cell phones, tablets and laptops. We also knew that we wanted to get a TV that could connect to Netflix in 3 of our rooms. We knew we needed WiFi that wouldn't quit or drop like on our old place. I went to Best Buy and they told me exactly what Router to buy to handle my needs. I knew I needed Geek Squad to make sure it was setup correctly. It was a really expensive router and I wanted to be sure everything it offered was working. Then the Geek Squad guys came and I had them mount my new TV and setup my new router at the same time. All I needed to do was make sure my Internet Service Provider had our internet services turned on.
The Geek Squad Agents found the right place to put my router so I got services all through my 3000+ sq ft house. They also made sure that I always got fast WiFi on the things that matter most. (like streaming to our TV and our work laptop). The best part was that they connected my devices that needed WiFi to the new network and made sure they all worked.
This saved me so much time and now the problems that my WiFi had in our old place don't happen anymore. I've spent countless hours on the phone in the past trying to resolve WiFi issues and it was such as waste of time. I've never had to do that since Geek Squad came. It's a lifesaver. Thanks, Geek Squad.

I have had nothing but good service from the Geek Squad, but I made the mistake of assuming I could buy and schedule this service online. I was SOOOO wrong. They email you a receipt, and then you have to call and fight your way through the automated phone service in a quest to get someone to help you schedule your appointment. The first time, I was on the phone for half an hour before I was finally hung up on while holding for the umpteenth time. I called back, and am now fifteen minutes of hold into my second attempt at scheduling. In the time I have been on hold, I could have likely read Networks for dummies, and fixed the problems I wanted to pay the Geek Squad to fix.

I should have read and learned from the previous review - got the email and called as instructed - send an hour on the online with a clueless rep - tried to set me up with remote service and had no clue about my order - very frustrating - I have always had excellent service from Best Buy but please learn from my mistake1

We were all of a sudden having problems with our high speed Century Link internet service dropping, and after multiple phone calls and two service calls, it was clear they weren't able to fix the problem. We went to Best Buy and talked to the Geek Squad and they suggested we setup an appointment for this service so we did. After several tests he concluded we needed to switch our internet provider and recommended purchasing our own router to save on the monthly fees. The Geek Squad Agent helped us call Comcast and scheduled the appointment so he could be there for a second visit when they setup the new connection to perform the service. We found him to be so wonderful and much more knowledgeable than the Comcast associate installing the service. He clearly simplified the amount of work by knowing what cables to connect and we were back in business immediately with high speed internet and a lower monthly bill.

Purchased In-Home Network Setup ... called number provided (800-333-5778) to schedule work ... got run around and advised it would be another $49 service fee on top of the $149.99. After 20 minutes run around never managed to sched work ... called Geek Squad Tech Support again to cancel order and spent over 30 minutes trying to cancel and get refund ... then only received $100 refund of my $149.99 payment ... this level of poor service has been documented by many people since OCT 2015 ... but no action appears to have been taken to correct problem.

If you pay for 3-5mb internet speed there is nothing that geek squad can do. But if the distance is further than your wifi router can reach an upgrad will help with connection not the overall speed since you are capped at what you have paid for.
