Not terrible. Buy DOOM or Overwatch instead

Homefront Revolution is not a AAA title, not by a long shot. Its a very ambitious game that falls just s short of expectations. But all in all its decent.
Controls aren't terrible but they are a little clunky. The visuals in the game are nothing spectacular, almost looks to me like a remastered version of itself though thats not exactly possible.
The story didn't grab me. No characters youre going to care about either.
Multiplayer is sort of Payday/2-esque.
Finally:
No Suppressed Primary Weapons. I dont understand why the develpoers wemt this way with it but only the pistol can be suppressed. Which really makes the marksman rifle a moot point when you can't remain hidden.

I spent about 13-15 hours playing the game and for the most part, I enjoyed my time with it. There were several glitches and times when the game would feel like a slog (in part, because of those glitches). Hard to recommend at $60 (or even $48 with GCU), but not a bad purchase at about half that cost (especially if you've got GCU).

Update made the game great

I preordered Homefront: Revolution and was very scared to play it due to all the horrible reviews. So I finished to play it due to all the horrible reviews. So I finished DOOM in hopes an update would fix the issues. There was an update when loading up Homefront and when playing a really didn’t notice all the glitches the reviews were talking about. The only glitches I did experience was when the game auto saves, it pauses movement for 1 second. No real big deal.
Here are my Pro and Cons:
Pros:
· Similar play style to Far Cry, The Division, Dying Light
· Cool customizations on Weapons and clothing
· Cool open world
· Realistic response if bad guys see you (similar to the dark zone). They come down hard and fast.
· The graphics in the open world are excellent (Story cut scenes graphics are dated)
Cons:
· 10 sec load time when traveling into different map areas
· Auto save pauses movement for 1 second (Be patience, we experience this all the time on our devices)
Final thoughts:
I decided to ignore the reviews of Homefront because I really like Open world shooters like The Division and Far Cry. The reviews for The Division and Far Cry were also very low compared to how I would rate them. My review of Homefront is Great! I like it. It’s not a 10 but a solid 8.5! If you like open world games like Far cry and The Division with customization then you will like Homefront.

I purchased this game with expectations that it would be like the previous game...I was wrong. Not only is the map more like an open environment but there are also plenty of bugs. The gameplay/controller mechanics and weapon customization is a great feature that wasn't in the previous game. You can pick up junk/crafting items throughout the map to sell to vendors...kinda reminds me of Dying Light.
I do believe that this game does have potential to be great but several kinks needs to be worked out beforehand.

the thing is I got this game when it was around $30 ( a week or so after it came out ) and at the time there were alot of complains about the game being glitchy and long load time and horrible frame rate , the truth is that the DEV team tried to patch it asap ( which all DEV should anyways ) so i was able to see the before and after patch which was a big improvement. the game in general isn't bad and i got the steel book edition which is great because im a game collector and i love steel books, anyways what im trying to say is if u have heard bad things about this game then im not gonna lie and say they are untrue but goods about this game outshine the bads, and the bads are NOT THAT BAD! give it a try i believe it is less than $20 now , my score were 3 when it was $30 and it is now 4 because it is a good game with less than $20 price tag , guns are customisable and u can change them on the fly , fortress takeover is a fun and different , vehicles in this game are awkward to drive but u will get use to, story is good and u might even get attach to the characters in this game, keep in mind it's a war game so don't expect happy ending or any kind of run and gun or u will die , it is more like fpsrpg , and one more thing, once you beat the game u will see a really sincere thank you note from the DEV team , im glad i bought it and u might be as well if u are open mind enough

Overall good game, has a few glitches and then the fact that even though the trailer shows you using a silencer on the sniper rifle it's blocked in the campaign. Only allowed in online play. Which makes no sense as they allow you to put it on your combat machine gun....

Ok for a bargain price but a let down for regular game price. Long campaign (>20 hrs) but gameplay is repetitive and the story could have been more robust. It's a cross between COD and Fallout with a hint of Crysis, so I love where they were going with it...but that may have caused it to be too stretched out and fell short by trying to Integrate too many ideas.

This edition comes in a nice steel book case with a clear slip sleeve. 2nd title in the Homefront series. Good shooter title, but there are better options out there if you are on a budget. I can only really recommend it at a sale price point.

This game has some very Kool elements one of which is that it very challenging or at least can be death comes to those who get complacent dying seems to be a frequent option as you advance through many of the games zones but aside from that the game does still get very repetitive after a short spell

This game has some great narrative, but is nothing like the original. I loved the first game, but this one doesn't shine a light to the original. There are some much better graphics, and I enjoyed the audio, but the story and missions just weren't up to par with the first Homefront game.

This game had the potential to be a great, large scale open world shooter with tons of quests. And that's what it is, just its stopped short of being great by loads of glitches that will likely never get patched. For the right price though, its worth picking up

Homefront The Revolution was somewhat disappointing. Even after the updates and patches the game is buggy. The story and gameplay is average. I like the game but the flaws tune it down a bit.

C'mon, who doesn't like Red Dawn? Great ideas here and I enjoyed the first one despite it's flaws, which is likely why I gave this game 3 stars instead of 2. For the 10 bucks I paid, worth it. For 25+? No.

I am not an extreme gamer but love to get lost in a good game for a solid week. This game was destroyed by about everyone/anything that could do so, and because of this I was very skeptical. However, after giving it a shot this is a solid game (minus glitches everyone is speaking of) Solid story line, solid graphics, tough game that can't be beat within an hour.
I do hope a patch will come out to fix a few loose knots but for 40$ I am very pleased with the game!

This game may have been broken when it was released, but I purchased it after several patches were already implemented and I like what I see. The small details this game has incorporated of Philadelphia are spot on, like things like the Eagles vs Cowboys NFC rivalry. This games is not a typical 1st person shooter when you just go out guns blazing, it forces you to strategically plan and execute your every move, otherwise you won't survive.

Great game live the weapon customization. New feel from the last game. I really liked the last home front hit this one isn't bad. I wish it had more of a team multiplayer fee no so much now it's more of a run through the maps for point nothing cool take over like it used to be. Playing the same maps over and over to level up kind of eeehhhh. Most of what I just said is to the multiplayer.... Campaign single player great game !!!
