This unit produces an airflow that smells horrible. I would have returned it if I had tried it sooner. Now I'm stuck with an over sized $182.00 paper weight.

We have an American Eskimo. plus a yard. (pollen and damper). and she was having all day running nose and problem breathing a night. I bought it as a test and I worked fabulously, As soon she is stepping into the house all her symptoms disappear. Installed 6 hours before she came and I didn't tell her. (just to prove my point, she didn't want me to buy it... JAJAJA..)

Why does the HPA give off a oil like smell? I have had the unit for 2 days and choke on the smell each night. I am going to let it run outside for a day and if it fixes it I will update my review. If the smell does not go away, the HPA300 will go away back to Best Buy.

The knock on consumer reports was that it was noisy. The fan was loud on the high level and with the turbo. . . much more so than our blueair 211+. Couldn't really determine if it was as effective as it stopped working after about a half hour. Not certain we want to entertain a replacement, probably will return and go with another blueair for the downstairs.
