OK!! I bought this today because fiancee and I planned on cleaning carpets for Labor Day weekend! Yeah I know how fun.... Anyhoo, we live in 3 bedroom townhome with the standard light beige carpeting with a pekingnese and toy poodle that decide from time to time they are too lazy too use the bathroom outdoors. Well, after a week of research on every website out there. I decided on this HOLY GRAIL of INVENTIONS!!! I am not exaggerating!! I can't believe I waited so long to purchase a home cleaner while owning pets!! I am incredibly impressed with this. Assembly was easy as all get out. just read the instructions!! Now because of my research this is what I have found works perfectly for me!! Everyone may not agree but I am so in love iwth these results!! 1) Use boiling water!!!! Easy way--use electric kettle and have it at the ready while you are cleaning that way there is no waiting for water to boil in a big pot on stove. Major time saver. 2) I used a mixture of fragrance free deep cleaning hoover solution, natures miracle, and oxy clean in the measure cup and added a little more of each about eight ounces total. A little more than the recommended amount 3)Have mp3 player around neck and ready with your favorite playlist 4)I did three wet passes with solution and 10 dry passes. Yes i know crazy but so worth it. 5) the dumping of the water was no big deal i loved seeing the dirt!! 6) afer you are done with whatever area, make sure you are barefoot and go over with drying passes over entire area again, obviously you can go a little faster this time because with the heated air it helps dry faster. 7) take break, eat, drink, do cartwheels because carpet is so clean for about 10 minutes 8) Now for the piece de resistance.. however you say it... It's time for the rinse cycle. Hot clean water this time, with a small capful of your favorite DOWNY fabric softener!!!!! Do one wet pass and about 5 dry ones. OMG!! talk about soft and you can choose the scent!!!! right now my house smellls lightly of lavender and vanilla!!!! Done with my fabulousness.. off to lay on carpet for bed!!:)

Works awesome! My only issue, which isn't a big one is the hand accesories. They don't work as well as I'd like. Which is only a personal preference. Other than that it is an awesome steam vac well worth the price. Makes me want to steam vac a lot of things and a lot more often!

I had a Hoover cleaner very similar to this for about 7 years and needed a new one. So, I decided to get basically the same one. Like my old one, this cleaner does a good job. My dog was having some stomach issues for a couple of days and was vomiting on the carpet. This cleaner did a great job removing the "spill." It's good to have around just in case anything is spilled on the carpet. I've also used it to do an all carpet cleaning. The only complaint I have with this cleaner is the dirty water tank. My old one had a handle making it easy to remove the tank and pour the dirty water into the toilet. There is no handle on this dirty water tank. So, when you take it out you have to use two hands being careful not to spill any of the water. Not a big issue, but that's a major difference to me. Overall, I think this is a good carpet cleaner.

Our Bissel broke after just a year of use. So we purchased this Hoover. The last Hoover we owned lasted almost 10 years. This unit works great and is made to last!

I bought this to replace an old Bissell. This works so much better that our old one. It's very easy to set up and use. I purchased back in June and have had to use it numerous times. My in-laws purchased the same one on my suggestion and had nothing but good things to say about it. It really removes the stains and cleans the carpets. The tools work great on my stairs. It doesn't leak either. That was my one big complaint about our old one, it always leaked out the bottom after we used it. No complaints on this product. I'm getting ready to purchase one as wedding gift for my brother and sister-in-law.

I received this Carpet cleaner as a Christmas present (I picked it out!!) I will admit this is the first one I've ever owned but I LOVE IT. It was very easy to put together and even easier to use. My apartment is mostly carpet and of a light color. I have 6 grandchildren so I needed a carpet cleaner. The fact that it has attachements that I can use on my upholstery is just one more plus!

Works as described. Easy to use. Instructions were clear and concise. Youtube has lots of demonstrations. Ordinary people demonstrating the product in a testimonial format. I have not used the upholstery attachment yet. When I ran out of the hoover supplied cleaning solution, I when to the big orange large box home depot hardware and purchased ZEP steam vacuum cleaning solution. Worked like a charm. For the price of two rentals, you can own one.

I've only used it once, so far, but was really pleased with the performance. I have animals, so lot's of opportunity for messes. Cleaned a high traffic area & was shocked at how much dirt it cleaned out of the carpet! I only pre-spotted & used hot water & it cleaned up great! Can't wait to try it on the tile floors.

We are buying a different soap to see if this helps. It did pull out a lot of dirty water an the carpet looked better afterwards. However, we have a new puppy and well, we were looking to really get that puppy smell out. I think the carpet cleaner works great. We just need to find the right soap for the job.

I had a very dirty carpet, and this machine did it. let me tell you something, I use to clean carpet with a company and I did not believe that this machine could do the job. you have to go slow. and if you have a very dirty area pretread it with a carpet cleaners spray. After you do a area go back over with not water to try to get the much water is possible from the carpet. I wish it could have a bigger waste water tank.

It's a great steam cleaner. Just finished using it and it got out dirt I didn't even know existed! It was gross (but good) and I had no problems. Instructions were easy to follow and the carpets didn't need any time to dry as I wet over it a couple of times with the machine, which practically got all the water out anyway so we were back on the carpets within ten minutes. Tip: Ensure that you do vacuum carpets PROPERLY before using this machine or cleaning the machine after use may be tasking. Enjoy....believe me, you will. No complaints.

I bought this steamvac to see if it can remove some stains from a soda spill years ago and recent dirty areas created by my dogs. I was pleasantly surprised that it took all the stains out and made my carpet really clean. The best part is I won't need to hire another carpet cleaner from this time forward!

This is a beast of a carpet cleaner. Cleans great and is easy to use. I would give this a 4.5 if I could though only due to the hose connection. I have owned one previous carpet cleaner where connecting the hand tool hose was simple and quick. This connection is not too bad but not as easy as my last carpet cleaner. Other then that, I love this thing and do not regret the purchase.

I have owned many machines to clean the carpets--this being the best one on the market. It does a fantastic job with cleaning and also the carpets are left almot dry.

This is a great unit and I would recommend it to friends and family. It is comes complete with everything you need for normal household use. We have a small dog and it worked well with pet stains. Beware of other stores that sell Hoover spinbrush units. Another big box store had their Hoover spinbrush on sale for $20 less and it looked identical to this one however upon closer inspection, the cheaper one did not have the spinbursh upholstery tool. The tool works well. In doing the research, I was concerned about the comments on difficulty with set up, clean up, and leaks. So I was careful to follow the instructions and everything worked out well. Using BestBuy.com with the store pick-up option saved about $30 because the online price was less than the store price and no shipping. This Hoover replaced a 12 yr old Hoover which we bought second hand 8 years ago. I tried to repair it before buying this one but found that the motor/pump assembly was clogged with debris. You can be sure we will vacuum the carpets very well before using this unit (again, following instructions). Considering that this one is of similar construction, I expect a solid 18 years of using it twice per month.

I've used a Bissell Steam Vac for years. I wasn't really satisfied with it because it would not pick up the water and stay wet for hours, so, I decided to try out the Hoover Steam Vac. I am so glad that I did. This Steam Vac picks up most of the water and the carpets are dry within 1/2 hour. I love this product!!!

My boyfriend and I have two dogs (one is a puppy) so of course accidents will happen inside. We've already used this twice to clean up the dirty areas and you can't even tell!! The urine and fecal stains have totally disappeared. Plus, the cleaning solution is even cheaper than at Wal-Mart!!! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone that has pets to clean up after.

I just love my Hoover Steamvac carpet cleaner. The price is great and it is easy to put water and cleaner in the machine and to empty the water well after you are done cleaning your floor. You are only lifting about 1 gallon to fill and empty. This makes it ideal for older people as well as younger. You also do not have to worry about being hooked up to a water source since it is all independant. I have 2 dogs and live in the midwest and would not want to be without it.

I bought this on the thanksgiving sale for 99 and it was sitting on the door for like a month before we decided to use it. This worked amazingly well and pulled out loads of invisible dirt. We were amazed with the power and how quickly the carpet dried. I would suggest to all my friends !!!
