We were looking for a carpet cleaner to try on our Berber carpet stained by 2 dogs over a 1year period (1 year old and 4 month old yorkie-poo's). We have used it in two areas so far. A long hall and an area behind and around a couch. The stains came out and the areas did not take to long to dry. The water that came out was nasty looking. You must put in hot water with the cleaning solution to get the best results.

Easy to use, cleans great, alittle tricky setting up the the hose holder. It dries really fast compared to the larger version.

I bought this SteamVac last fall after some drywall work was done in my home and there was dirt and dust everywhere. I have a bad back and could not lug a huge rental carpet cleaner up and down the stairs -- and the professional services were too expensive. I did a lot of research on this Vac and came to the conclusion that this would be the best model to purchase. This machine has done an excellent job on a variety of rugs and carpeting in my home -- it has basically paid for itself many times already. I was shocked at how much dirt and dust this machine can remove from carpets and rugs! I wish the hand held attachment for stairs was a little more powerful (i.e. beater brush action, not suction power), but I assume it would be too overpowering for upholstery. I have used it for nearly everything: hallway runners, stairs, car mats (works great on these), wool area rugs, etc. The only thing I have not used it for yet is upholstery fabric. One last suggestion -- I highly recommend using the better quality Hoover carpet cleaning solutions vs. the more basic cleaner that was included with the vac. It's worth the extra few dollars.

After lots of research settled on this model for best in performance for the price. We had an earlier version of the same thing that lasted us 15 years. Finally had to break down and buy a new one after years of service and abuse. Cleaned the carpets as well as the professional we hired months earlier.

The unit performs as advertised. We purchased based on it being rate a Consumer Best Buy. We are happy with it's performance so far, as long as it continues to operate with no issues it will be an excellent purchase.

I bought this Steam Vac online and picked up at the store to save 10% since store did not have it onsale. With a 22 months old running around the house, I really needed a good steam vacuum cleaner. This was exactly what I needed. I took care of most of stains and dirts that I needed to get rid of. It also dried fairly quick, so I did not even have to leave the house. Great product for the money.

I purchased this yesterday after reading reviews and I am so happy I did. I have two dogs ( one being a newly housetrained lab pup). I had many pet accidents on my carpet. This shampooer worked great. I now have no spots on my carpet. I highly recommend this cleaner. ANd I did actually recommended it to my friend after seeing the results. Do not purchase the expensive ones-- this works wonderful!

I used it once. It worked quite well. No problem operating it. Liked that it was upright. I used to have a canister shampooer that was backbreaking. I went to use it again the next day and the vacuum would not suck up the water. the carpet stayed wet and messed up the laminate floor underneath very sad. Now it sits in the closet waiting for me to deal with it. .

It cleaned very nicely. Easy to use, left carpet clean after 1st use. Have dogs and odor disappeared.

Great overall steamvac. Tip: Take your time when pulling over wet area. Tip: Go over the area in atleast two swipes to ensure liquid is collected

First complaint was how it arrived; in a box that had obviously been previously opened and all the packing material tossed around and totally destroyed; second was the tool caddy was defective and had to order a new one; cleaning performance of the machine was great in spite of the fact that the plastic construction of the unit seems to be flimsy. Only time will tell as to whether it can withstand repeated use over the long haul.

The Hoover SteamVac took longer to assemble than I had predicted due to the unclear instructions and impossible to see diagrams. It also is not of very rugged construction. But after the nightmare of assembly was over, the happiness began. I was overjoyed and could not believe the amount of dirt the SteamVac pulled out of my carpets. Also, it completely elliminated stains and odors from cat urine, doggy messes, and water damage. I also used the attachable upholstery tool for my couches and was very suprised that it also eliminated cat odors. The only feature that I disliked was the automatic recovery tank shut-off feature which is annoying and unnecessary. This stops the brushes from turning and emanates an unbearable sound when the recovery tank is full with dirty water. I think people can visually figure out when the tank is full. What the directions don't mention is that you have to keep the Clean Solution tank full. If you only fill it up a third or halfway, the automatic shut-off kicks in every thirty seconds. Very annoying! So have someone assemble the Hoover SteamVac for you and always keep the clean solution tank full and you will have a happy stress-free shampoo-fest!

I researched this item before I purchased it through the many reviews on Best Buys website. It was on sale too. The website said they had it in stock at my local store. I went there, was promptly asked if I needed any help, the clerk got it down from the top rack, I bought it and was out of the store within 5 minutes! Great! As for the quality of the product, GREAT on its first run here at my house. It took about 10 minutes to assemble. The water was soooo dirty, and thats a good thing. Performed like a commercial model steam cleaner.

I have used all the store rentals, my wife bought a much lesser model that did ok but none compared!! High traffic area, CLEAN!!! Stubborn spots, CLEAN!!! Upholstery, CLEAN!! And it all dried pretty darn quick, even in this cool weather. If you are looking this is the one.

I purchased a newly designed Bissel prior to this and I hated how the dirty water was wrapped around a clean water like balloon. I was amazed their designers came up with such a stupid design. It was a real pain unloading and reloading. I returned the Bissel and purchased this simple design Hoover. It works good and is easy to use.

Finally broke down and bought a carpet cleaner after I got stood up by a carpet cleaning company. Great investment and wasn't hard to use once I decided to use it ;-).

Purchased it several days ago and amazed by the amount of dirt coming up and how dry carpets get after use. Would Highly recommend

Had a lot of dark stains near my kitchen entrance. Clean Surge button worked so well and the carpet looked almost new. A few extra passovers with just the suction and my carpet was dry before I went to bed.

Did lots of research through different stores and always came up with positive reports on this product! Works great..my beige carpet has teenage boys, dog and a husband who hangs in the garage all over it...not anymore...carpets look great...Wish I would of bought this before spending $600+ on getting carpets cleaned in the past....

This carpet cleaner is amazing! The last one we had went bad in about 6 months so we had to get a new one. This one works so much better.
