Had read other reviews and bought based upon the reviews. First room got so much "dirt" not dirty water, but Dirt, that I realized we must have been living in a pig stie. Had a Bissel before and thought it was getting the dirt out but it was just the surface dirt not the deep down dirt. As one reviewer put it, this baby REALLY SUCKS and it does. It got up dog hair, ground in soil, my son in law thought we had bought new carpet. There are more expensive models but for us this one is the one!!!!

I bought this Steam Cleaner for my Daughter-in-Law for Christms. She loved it! With two little children and two dogs in the house, she was constantly having to borrow a friends SteamVac to get the rugs clean. She loves the fact that she can now just pull this out of her own closet and within seconds is ready to go with quick clean ups when something gets spilled or the dogs have dirty paws. She also likes the fact that she can do the steps. The SteamVac that she was borrowing didn't have the capability to do the steps. She also said that the cord is nice and long so she can cover a large area without having to unplug and move to a different outlet. The gift was a hit. Not to mention the kids always have clean carpets to play and crawl around on.

Previously owned a Bissel Quicksteamer, sold that and begged my husband to buy me this cleaner!! I wanted one with attachments to clean the carpet in the van. Overall I think that this a good cleaner. I don't think that the "Heated" feature works well, exspecially when using the hose. I put in 1/2 boling water and 1/2 Hot water and when I went to use the hose it was very cool. It didn't get every spot out, but everytime I emptied the dirty water, it was very dirty!! So it must have been doing it's job. Drying time is very fast and it is so easy to clean the dirty container! Much easier than the Bissell:) So Far I have cleaned the Living Room, kids room and Basement in 2 days. I still have my room and the van, but glad I waited becuase My daughter just spilled a full cup of orange pop last night in the van! So, that will be the test, to see how well it cleans orange pop out of light gray carpet, lol!

bought this after old hoover lost suction power. This cleaner has great power and made my carpets softer and brighter. Even good on stains. The only downfall was the stair tools hard to use sprays water everywere

I returned a Hoover SteamVac All Terrain after the motor froze the second time I used it. I did more research and found that this model is loved by most people who use it. I like the cleaning solution measuring cup being built in to clean water tank. It is easy to mix the solution. It is also nice to have a separate dirty water tank. I have just finished cleaning carpet with the machine and it worked pretty well. A lot of dirt and hair were removed that were left behind by my Dyson! It would be nice if the carpets were a little dryer when I was finished, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall, it appears that this is a good machine that should continue to work. Oh, there are no belts to break!

We had a Bissell steam cleaner for four years. It broke down and was too expensive to repair. I read many online reviews for the Hoover Steamvac With Clean Surge and was impressed. I bought the product at the BestBuy store in my city. The Hoover product was priced fairly and easy to put together (10 minutes and a phillips screwdriver). This steamvac took stains out of our carpet left by the previous owners. These stains could not be removed by a professional carpet cleaning business or by our old Bissell machine. My wife and I were both very impressed and happy with this purchase.

I LOVE this carpet cleaner. I previously had a Hoover carpet cleaner for over 4 years so I didn't hesitate to purchase another. I do animal rescue and this carpet cleaner comes to my rescue during training, and is just a simple pleasure to keep my carpets clean on a regular basis. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to recommend this product!

Uses a lot of the cleaning fluid, so stock up. Not too impressed with the attachments, so it does not perform as well on carpeted stairs.

I cleaned the carpet using the supplied cleaner, then one more round with just plain water to minimize any chemical residues. The carpet dried in one day which was good.

my carpet is a really light cream color, so it get dirty really fast. The Hover SteamVac got my carpet looking like new. With a professional carpet cleaning business, it would have cost me $356 to do 3 rooms and my hallway. The SteamVac paid for itself!

As mom to three dogs - one a puppy, I thought I would never get the puppy accident stains up. Bought this machine after reading the Best Buy reviews, and talking to one of their sales people at the store. I came home, put it together, and to my delight, the stains are gone. This did a far better job than the old Bissell that I threw out after buying and seeing the results of this Hoover. If you want clean carpets, buy this machine. It may not have all the bells and whistles that some of the other machines have, but it does a superior job of cleaning the carpets. If you are in the market for a steamvac, buy this one.

Used it to save a basement carpet that got soaked due to a leak. Shampood/steamed 3 times. Worked like a charm! Used it after a smaller Bissel I had used in the past kind of died on me. I am really glad I upgraded. Only Con : this machine is heavier, unlikely you'd be able to use it on stairs.

I have to say that I did have a much more expensive version of a Hoover steam cleaner before this one. But after 4 years of very regular use the poor thing finally just gave out. I did want the other one that I had before, but spending $300 right now was not an option, and not having a scrubber was out as well. With a family, and 5 cats in the house I needed a scrubber. My only real complaint is that it doesn't automatically rinse. After you get done scrubbing the carpet you have to go back over your carpet again to rinse out any residual soap. I have to say though that the results are so worth it for me. Bottom line it works as advertised, but it is a bit labor intensive.

We had a more expensive Hoover model for years that worked great. It has a better design in my opinion, but at almost twice the cost. This one takes more effort to hook up the hose for use on stairs and upholstery, but does a nice job. The bottom canister lid latches in the back making a quick change between modes a longer process. We've had it a month now and so far no problems. A lot of plastic, but it keeps the weight down.

I read all the reviews, then went out and bought one. It was incredibly effective for stains I had tried to get out before, and the carpet simply looks new. The hand tools are effective as well, and the unit works much better than "heavy duty" units I had previously rented at Home Depot, etc. I was going to have my carpet done professionally, but I bought this, saved over $100 compared to the professionals, and can do it whenever I need to.

The return water unit has a rubber gasket that does not work to keep the suction going. We got one and used it a little over an hour and the suction stopped. We took it back, got another one and it did the same thing, only in less than 10 minutes. We took it back and got our money back. We won't get another one. And we are back to renting a machine.

I was totally surprised by the performance of this cleaner! The assembly is a little wobbly/loose but toherwise a great product!

I bought this 12/31/07 to get up pet stains....it worked GREAT! It cleaned it like it never happened. I am VERY pleased with it and would highly recommend this steam cleaner to anyone. I only used the cleaning solution that came with it (no spot cleaner) and it still performed as I had hoped it would. If you need a basic steam cleaner, I recommend this one.

I was tired of renting a steam cleaner every couple of months to clean my carpet. I have 2 large dobermans in the house who are eager to make a mess, and not to mention a husband!! I wasn't sure what I was looking for so I just went to the nearest Best Buy. The salesman was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for. The Clean Surge is wonderful at getting deep down dirt. I was so excited about how well it cleaned I had the entire house cleaned in about 2-3 days! This was definitely a GREAT investment!!
