I purchased this steam cleaner based on it's rating on bestbuy.com and I am So glad I did. It is extremely easy to use! The results are out of this world. It looks like I hired a professional carpet cleaning service, but - what's better is my carpet dried 10x faster! Also- about 10 minutes after I was done cleaning my living room carpet my 3 year old spilled her lemonade . . . I took out my steam cleaner and vacuumed right over the spill and it was as if it never happened! :) If you are looking for a steam cleaner or have little ones, this is a must!! I wish I would have discovered it sooner, but I'm glad we made the investment.

After reading the great reviews we decided to buy one and we are glad we did. It was easy to put together, easy to use and the results were very rewarding. We took one reviewer's advise and used oxi clean which we added to "awesome" cleaner insetead of using the manufacturer's solution, and as we cleaned, the dirt was gone....We added a teaspoon of fabric softener to the rinse water ( another reviewer suggested that too!) and the carpet is softer and smells wonderful. I can't wait to do the rest of the house. This was my first experience cleaning carpets and if I can do it, anyone else can too!

Decided to purchase a carpet cleaner for my in-laws as a gift. We previously owned a Hoover machine. We were very disappointed in the product when it stopped working because a hose tore and could not be repaired. The replacement part was too expensive, so we kept putting off purchasing it and just never did. So, I decided to look at a Bissell instead. After reading not so glowing reviews on that product, I thought I would just see how the reviews compared to the Hoover product reviews. I was really surprised to see the nice reviews for the Hoover machine and decided that our previous issue was either a fluke or just a flaw in our model. Based on the reviews and the awesome Best Buy sale price, I decided to purchase this Hoover Steam Vac for my in-laws for Christmas. Turns out that they had already purchased a Bissell. So, my hubby suggeted that we just keep this cleaner and it turns out it was a great idea. This machine cleans much better than the old one and seems that there have been some changes in the design. So, as of right now I am very pleased with this product and the job that it does.

With 2 dogs and a cat, it was time to finally buy a carpet cleaner. After months of scouring the internet for the best reviews, I decided on Hoover and finally this model. I was a little worried at first. The box arrived with hardly any packing - the cleaner had been bounced around and I was SURE something would be broken. But no, everything was there and easy to put together. I used some of the included cleaning liquid for my first go-round. The machine is a little awkward at first but not very heavy - just different than using a vacuum. It was easy to use on my off-white berber carpets once I got the hang of it. Hoover makes the clean-up easy too. Definitely a great purchase!

oh my gosh i love this thing. i rented one of those one's from the store....cost me $62 and was a horrible experience not to mention i had to return it in 24 hours. this one i can use to clean up everytime my puppy goes since we're training him and especially since he scatters. we have beige carpets and they look like new. the carpets dry in like two minutes too which is awesome. it's easy assemble...really not a bad price, and very easy to push(which the grocery store rental really gets your muscles going). two of my friends have used it and they love it too.

Had a Bissell until it broke down. Always thought it was a good cleaner but I was wrong. Read all of the reviews about this Hoover and bought it at Best Buy last weekend. Our bedroom carpet looks brand new again. Never knew what the Bissell was missing until I used the Hoover. No problems with it at all. We have two older dogs who sometimes have small accidents in that room and you would never know that they had soiled the carpet. I called my husband and told him I didn't like the Hoover: I LOVE this Hoover.

Caught this on sale for a great price. The sales lady talked me out of spending more on a high price unit. I am very glad I listened. It was very easy to assemble. I have two children and two dogs. The carpet really needed to be cleaned. It came out very nice. The water in the used tank was gross. Amazing how IT pulled all that yuck out of the carpet. There was enough capacity in the resevoir to complete one room about 12 x 12. Themachine is super easy to use and got the job done fast. The carpet was dry in about an hour. Highly recomended.

I was going to have to pay a professional cleaner about $230 to do only two rooms and the stairs. For just under $200 I figured I could buy this and a bottle of cleaner and use it over and over again whenever I needed it. I read the reviews and every one was very positive. After I did my carpets, I was disappointed because I could still see the high traffic areas. However, once the carpet was dry it looked great! I have light beige carpet and they look as good now as the day we moved in. The macine is easy to use and works great!

I bought this since I was renting a machine every 3 months for our house. We have 3 dogs and 2 kids so I was always having some stain. It is light- compared to commercial machines, cleans very well and is easy to empty and store. I have not used the tool yet but the stand up version is GREAT.

We hadn't cleaned the cream colored Berber carpet in our front room (very high traffic area) since moving in 18 months ago so as you can imagine it was pretty gross. I had been researching steam cleaners for several weeks before I decided on this one. Determining factors in order of importance to me: 1-Brand reliability 2-Price 3-Spin Brush verses rotating brush (in my mind it seems as if the spin brush would work better on berber that a rotating brush and I was not disappointed) The very evening we brought it home we assembled it and cleaned the front room. The water was black and the carpet is actually cream colored again. I love the fact that there are separate resovoirs for the clean and dirty water and that they are so easy to change! I haven't had any stains reappear and we cleaned the carpet about 2 months ago. It still looks as good as new. I have cleaned several other rooms as well but none were nearly as gross as the front room so the results were the most dramatic in that one. My tips for a great cleaning experience are: -vacuum thoroughly before cleaning -Make sure you use the recommended amount of cleaning solution -Go slowly. I found myself rushing toward the end and you need to give the machine a little time to clean most effectively. -Use one wet stroke and at least 3 dry ones to significantly reduce dry time. I haven't used the the stair/upholstery attachment yet. I love being able to clean my carpet whenever I want for about the same price as having a stranger clean it once!!!

I have not owned a rug cleaner before but the amount of dirty water I got was amazing. It is so much cheaper than getting your rugs cleaned and you can do spot cleaning in between. Worked on an Ottman also that had ch. milk spilled on it. Used it on wall to wall and area rugs and if you go over it a few times it seems to really pick up the liquid so my rugs were not very wet. I think it is a good value. I don't think it really steams the rug though. You use hot water and the shampoo included.

It does the job. Gets rid of very deep set in stains. My husband and I moved into an apartment were the rugs were absolutely disguisting. Stains everywhere... We purchased a Bissell basic steam vacc thinking it would do the job..WRONG. We then went with the Hoover.. Oh my God! Stains gone in just one swipe of the steam vacc. The only down side is that its pretty heavy. Will be a pain if you have to go up and down stairs. But you know what...its worth it and the price isnt too bad either.

First of all, I'm not really one to write a review.. As a matter of fact, I have never in my adult life written a review. But after using this machine - I felt compelled to say something. This is by far the best cleaner ever. This was my first carpet cleaner purchase so I don't really have another product or brand to compare it to, but I was really impressed with the results. Even my children commented on the carpet's appearance compared to how it looks when the professionals clean it. I have always had my carpet professionally cleaned. Never again! Use this and you will not only save money, but you won't be disappointed. There are just a few small / minor drawbacks - It is heavy! I don't have stairs so I didn't have to worry about that, but it does take some energy to lug it around. Secondly, you will find yourself going thru the cleanser pretty quickly and lastly, some of the parts, particularly the hose, kept falling off and getting in the way. I simply removed it. Don't know that I will have much use for it in the future. But enough griping.. these are all just minor things to expect, but I promise - the job that this machine performs will compensate for the drawbacks. Plus, the carpet dries extremely fast! And it doesn't wet or soak up like when the professionals do it. I am def a happy camper and would recommend this product to anyone seeking a good carpet cleaner.

Had a mad cat that rewarded us with a huge puddle just after carpets were cleaned. Decided to purchase cleaner. Worked very well..better job than original cleaning. Pretty easy to use also.

Needed a steam vac to clean up after my toddler as the frequency of needing professional carpet cleaning was every couple of months. Bought this one based on the positive feedback, and the separate dirty water tank sold me. Put together within 15 minutes. Took out all stains and marks, and dried amazingly quick. It's easy to use and carpet came out very clean. Very happy with this purchase.

This steam cleaner is great! We recently moved into a great rental property with one major problem -- FILTHY carpets. (Seriously... yuck! They were actually STICKY, they were so dirty!!!) The landlord promised to have them professionally cleaned before we moved in, but guess what... On top of that, my dog didn't adjust well to the move and essentially had to be re-housebroken. AND my 2-year-old is potty training (and having plenty of accidents). As you can imagine, I was at my absolute wit's end after a couple of weeks. I just couldn't live like that!!! I considered renting a steam cleaner, but figured I'd need to re-rent every time my dog "acted out" or my kid didn't make it to the potty in time -- forget that! So I bit the bullet and bought this model. I COULDN'T LOVE AN APPLIANCE MORE!!!!!! It's easy to use and got an astounding amount of gunk out of the carpet -- which is berber... not easy to clean. Since using this machine, the stickiness is completely gone, and the carpet is at least 3 shades lighter! (In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that the machine didn't get ALL the stains out -- but I seriously doubt ANY machine could.) I rated the "features" as 4 stars, only because the dirty-water-recapture tank can be tricky to attach. You have to make sure it is seated exactly right, or the machine won't suck back up the water it puts down. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's really no problem. All in all, this cleaner is ABSOLUTELY worth the money. I was about to have a nervous breakdown over my carpet situation -- now I'm perfectly happy! (AND content in the knowledge that I'll be ready when one of my little darlings has another accident!) Trust me -- your carpets COULDN'T be dirtier than mine were, and I'm thrilled by this machine's performance. I'm sure you will be, too!

Anyone that as ever tried to clean Berber carpet KNOWS how hard it is to get really clean even under the best of circumstances. I have lived in this 1 Bedroom duplex for almost 4 years. I have a dog and 3 cats. In the years I have been here I have never cleaned the carpet. It was SO NASTY I was embarrassed when people came over. I had been considering having it professionally cleaned, but even though it was 1 bedroom, a hallway and a living room, it would still have cost around $150. When I saw the sale price on this cleaner at Best Buy I figured I would try it and if it didn't work, then I could return it. :-) It comes with 16oz of Hoover cleaner and they recommend 3 oz to the tank if you are using a pre treat for stains and 6oz if not pre-treating. I didn't have any pre-treat so I used 6oz per tank. The hallway and the living room were first and were a total of 200sq ft. The instructions say to make 2 passes each way spraying and then 2 more each way drying. Since the hallway carpet was SO dirty I did it twice. In the living room I made 3 passes each way. I used the entire 16oz cleaning solution but the carpet was CLEAN! Take the time after you rinse the carpet to make an additional drying pass and the carpet will dry incredibly fast. The hallway was almost dry by the time I finished the living room! Hoover recommends using their cleaner because of the low foaming properties, but the following day I couldn't find any Hoover brand so I went to a big box home improvement store and bought the Zep for rental and home extractors low foaming solution and it cleaned the bedroom just as nice as the rest of the house. VERY VERY nice cleaner. I really wish I had taken "before" and "after" pictures so you could be as amazed as I was at the results.

After having owned two bissell carpet cleaners only to have the plastic bladder on them break several times and then not hold as much since they share a tank. I was ready for something else. Took a gamble on this Hoover and did our upstairs rooms. I was so impressed I came back to write a review. First off the dump tank for the dirty water not only completely comes out of the machine but the top of that tanks comes off completely making dumping the bad water easy and rinsing the tank out easy as well. My bissells had just a little opening for this so rinsing the tank in them was a b%t^ch. Secondly the hand tool has its own two rotating brushes. Very very important and no one seems to mention that not even best buy's description. Find that on a bissell...you won't cause none of them have it. Last but not least it just cleans better. We have two pet stains that the super pricey bissell could never pull out that the hoover had no issues with and cranked them out as if they never were there. So as I was using the hoover and think of all the money we spent on bissells that did not do anything I got kinda mad. I don't think I will buy bissell anything ever again and I certainty not tell any friends they can borrow my new cleaner (you know how things come back broken when lent out).

Simply love this carpet cleaner. It is extremely easy to use and gets rid of the absolute worst stains. We have dogs, boys, teenagers, and a wheelchair handicapped grandma who spills as much as the boys and this cleaner has gotten all the stains out of the carpet. We looked at others that had more features and were more expensive but all the reviews i read about this one on other sites and here convinced me to try it and i don't regret it at all.

I bought this carpet cleaner because I had an upcoming Christmas party with neighbors and all my kids and other family members were coming in for Christmas. I had lots of spots from my little Bichon-Frise puppy, so I was hoping that it would do the job. Boy did it come through with flying colors!! I did my whole house (3,400+ sq feet) with just the introductory bottle in the box, and the "Pet Cleaner" bottle from Hoover at Wal-Mart. The instructions, for the most part, were understandable; I got the machine up and going, and the cleaning task was done in 2 partial days. It is a really good machine. One important point--you really need to make sure that the dirty water tank is clearly connected firmly into the base, or the suction won't work properly. Read the instructions carefully and you should be on your way to clean carpets. It worked for me!
