We just bought this after seeing that this was the best rated steam cleaner on Amazon.com. The house that we purchased has snow white carpet thoughout. Who puts in snow white carpet? I didn't think they even made snow white carpet! Anyway, with a dog who loves to jump in the lake and a cat who throws up from time to time, we had to get something great. So far I'm thrilled. Since we moved in there has been a stain on the carpet that looked like a 2-foot line of oil that dripped. I tried the Resolve 2-in-1 carpet cleaner, which is a fantastic product, that didn't even take it out. So my husband fired up the SteamVac and out it went! It has also made 2 cat throw up spots disappear. As for the dog dirty paw prints, those came out with no problem.

The Hoover Steam Vac is light weight and convenient. I don't like to assemble hard items with lots of screws and bolts. This vac has limited screws and bolts, so it's very easy to assemble. Cleaning is outstanding. Stains lift up in a snap. It's great. Thank you.

WoW!!! How Impressed I am with the cleaning ability of this machne. I searched, and researched lots of reviews for steam cleaners, this one sure fit the needs I have, as well as my pocket. I am very happy with the performance of this item, as well as the quality and price. I have 1 dog and 5 cats in the house and have been searching for steam cleaners to do my carpets, this one is guaranteed to give you 100% satisfaction. A must have for any animal owner. Also works on bare floors, as well as stairs, and upholstery. The dirt that came out of my carpets was incredible...who knew it was their, didn't appear to be. Kind of ashamed on one hand, and overjoyed on the other to know it's out of the carpet. You will not be disappointed with this machine. Get it, don't look any further. Also the quality seems to be really well built, not like some of the other ones, where the reviews say they broke right away. Good Luck!!!

I bought the SteamVac online during the Thanksgiving sale, and it cost me only $106.24. Can't beat that! It would be probably more to rent a shampooer for a couple of days. The machine cleaned up my carpet (Light color Berber) at high traffic areas with a couple of old spills that keep resurfacing every time after scrubbing, and this time they are gone for good. I'm impressed. I wish the clean water tank was a little larger, it only holds about 2 sq. yards worth of solution, so the trips to the sink are quite frequent. The drying was fast too, a few hours only.

Our carpets were bad--hadn't been cleaned in over a year. We used the carpet cleaner exactly how the directions stated--slowly forward, then back with solution, then forward and back to remove water. We weren't expecting great results, had used a Bissel Pro Heat before and it was awful--we were AMAZED by how well the Hoover worked!!! We went over everything twice and our carpets look almost brand new! Better than the carpet cleaner we had rented from a vaccum shop!! Will surely pay for itself shortly and was a decent price compared to all the other cleaners that probably don't even work as well! Just be ready to buy a few of those bottles of solution...we went through alot, but worth it to us!

So far, I'm liking the vac. It has erased some of the dirt spots in my carpet left over from attempts to clean up after my cat. The only criticism I have so far is that it's REALLY loud. My ears were ringing after doing two rooms. I'm going to stick with it, but wear ear plugs!

Works great - supplied jug of cleaner good for about 3 rooms Carpet comes real clean - if extreme stain area may need stain remover/brush but it got a ton of dirt out of each room even ones I dint think were really dirty - every change was dark water. READ MANUAL: - CLEAN MACHINE after each use -see manual, do not store wet, run cleqar water thru soap dispenser parts once done to ensure machine gives you years of life or soap supply lines will clog as with any of these machines- carpet came real dry after a few passes -better than old one my parents have

I've used this machine for about 4 months for home carpet cleaning, upholstery, and cleaned 2 car's interiors top to bottom. The results were impressive. It is very effective in all modes (floor, upholstery, using various attachments). With carpets it did very well even in extremely dirty conditions on a car that hadn't been cleaned in 11 years. The car interior looked like new after cleaning. It is somewhat cumbersome to set up the machine for upholstery and car cleaning though. You will need to read the instructions as it's not intuitive where to connect the adapters and hoses. I ran into a problem where a plastic tab broke off after the 2nd use of the upholstery adapter. It's not a fatal problem though, as the machine works even without the tab in place, but the upholstery adapter now needs to be positioned carefully on installation, without the tab to guide it . If you want a machine that will do all I've described above, this is the one to buy. It is very powerful and effective, but be gentle when installing and removing the upholstery adapter.

I finally got tired of my old Bissell Pro Heat just not getting the job done. I have had to order parts quite a few times in the past and it has steadily gone downhill over time. The Hoover Steam Clean spinbrushes do a better job and won't need a belt like the Bissell. I read many reviews on this product before I decided to buy it. Aside from a few quirks (If the flap on the collection tank isn't seated properly, it won't vacuum up anything) it has been a great machine and my carpets look MUCH better than before. We have kids and a dog so this machine is a necessity to clean up after the mess they leave behind. I bought this unit online for the sale price of $149 with in-store pickup. The units in the store were still labled for the full retail price, so I saved $25. If you are looking for a great machine at a great price, this is the one to buy!

First, you MUST read the instructions. If it isn't working right, then you are doing something wrong. There is a 24 hour hotline provided that can really help. Once you get the cleaner going, watch out! We used this on our white carpets with stains provided by a 1 year old. The first quick pass was amazing; pulling out most of the soiled areas. The carpet looked almost new when we were finished and the water we poured out was super gross despite the fact that we vacuum 3 times a week. The other bonus was that the carpet wasn't overly wet and dried in less than two hours. Next time I'll know to pre-treat problem areas 5 minutes ahead, but overall I would recommend this product.

I purchased this at Best Buy after reading the online reviews. I really am amazed with how well it does clean the carpets. I live in Oklahoma and have red dirt stains in my carpet that I have never been able to get out. This steam cleaner actually got those nasty stains out. Wow I could not believe that it did so well with 7 year old stains. I will not have to replace my carpets for several more years since I have started using this in my home. I think the tank size is perfect. Not too big not too small but just enough so I dont have to kill myself to empty it. I always use extra dry strokes to make sure carpet will be dry faster. It takes more of my time but worth it if I can walk on the carpet a half hour later. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has serious stains they have been unable to remove. This Hoover is the one for the Job!

I just bought this Hoover yesterday after reading everyone's review (Thank You All). It's the best purchase I've made so far. I bought a new house a year and half ago the carpet was clean and with 2 boys and lots of company and a place of lots of dirt, blowing and raining it tends to get dirty. We have holiday dinners here and family gatherings and my carpet went through alot from black stains that I couldn't get out scrubbing myself to soda and food stains. My kids are very messy they don't sit still when they eat or drink stuff. They get it all over the floor. We got back late last night and i put it together within 30 minutes very easy assembly. And with just one use, it got ALL the stains out and dried very quickly. I love this SteamVac and I definitely recommend this to whoever is looking for a great cleaner at an affordable price.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter based on the all of the research I conducted. Although Hoover makes more expensive machines, this cleaner had a better rating overall. Since I have had this cleaner myself for over 15 years and love it, I picked up one for her. She loves it as much as I do. It is a top performer and unless you want to spend $600. and for the highest rated Rug Doctor Cleaner, I highly recommend this product. Knock on wood, I have never had one problem from this machine and it HAS been used for 15 years on a regular basis at least twice a year or more on a house filled with wall-to-wall carpeting.

The first subject I tried the Hoover was on my recliner. This chair was filthy and had not been cleaned in about three years. Gross.. This machine with its rotator brush cleaned this chair in a way that it gleamed. My chair looked brand new again. It was beautiful, I was happy. My carpets also got a nice clean. Can't wait to do a really deep clean. I have parrot who can give any carpet a challenge. I'm sure this machine will stand up to it.

The Hoover Steam Vac is about as close to a professional application as you can get. We have several pets in our house and the this product is worth a million! The machine is easy to use and very effective in rug and upholstery cleaning.

This is a great product. I vacuum very often but was blown away by how much grit and grime this machine sucked out of my carpets. It's kind of shocking. I used it on my sofa and loveseat and they look fresh and new again. My carpet is fairly new so I can't say that it removes stains but it certainly revived the pile and the carpet looks like it was installed today--not 6 months ago. My only criticism is that it's kind of a bulky machine so it's difficult to use on the stairs. I used the hose and brush attachment to clean the stairs but the hose is short so I had to try to balance the machine on a stair above or below where I was cleaning. It's a little heavy to push around but I'm not strong and was able to do a large living room, dining room, and flight of stairs before becoming worn out.

Just purchased this cleaner and used it for the first time last night. It does a great job. This one is replacing another Hoover that we have had and used for over 14 years. Yes, thats right, 14 years. The old one is still going strong except for the fact that the trigger stopped working. I figured the trigger would cost as much as buying this new one. We looked at the Bissell (which cost more than double this one) and decided to stay with the Hoover. We also looked at the Hoover All Terrain but decided against it. (Built cheap, so was the Bissell). Too many plastic parts to break on the Bissell and the Hoover All Terrain. I tell you that our previous Hoover has paid for itself over and over again. No complaints whatsoever. I hope this one holds up as well. You really cant go wrong with this model.

This is my second Hoover SteamVac. The first one needed repairs after 9 years, and replacing was a better option. I like the simplicity of this machine. Easy to use, like a vacuum. My floors are cleaner because I am not intimidated to use it anytime. If the kids spill something, it is there to take it up quickly. This model requires attaching the hand tools, and isn't as easy to use as the previous model, but after giving it a try, it seems more effective and worth the extra effort. I like the scrubbing brushes for carpet and scrubbing hand tool. Emptying the tank isn't as quick, or I haven't mastered it yet. Takes two hands now to unattach the dirty tank and even laying down the handle horizontal, but I would recommnend this machine overall. I waited for a sale to purchase.

This was one of the cheaper steam vacs available and it worked better than expected. It cleaned the carpets just as well as the local professional carpet cleaners you can hire. We have 2 children under the age of 4 and a puppy and it gets out all of the stains they've managed so far :)

This steam cleaner exceeded my expectations. It would have cost more money to hire a professional cleaning service, and I think I got the carpet cleaner than a professional would. This was a great value! Definitely worth every penny. I couldn't believe how dirty the water was, even when I used water only for the optional rinse cycle (no carpet cleaning solution added). I have to say, I actually had fun doing this. I was also amazed at how much water the Hoover sucked back out of the carpets- they were dry in no time! I would highly recommend this steam cleaner. I wish I had gotten it sooner!
