This is a second unit from Hoover that we've owned and couldn't be happier with it. We have a dog and don't like the dog hair in the carpet, this unit really helps get that out along with the doggie smells and dirt. We use this once a month on our carpets and they couldn't be cleaner, visitors always comment that they never would have guessed that we had a dog in the house. The only thing I don't like is how the upholstery hose attaches, it's not bad but it could have been made a lot simpler. I would definately recommend this unit to anyone wanting clean carpet or anyone that suffers from allergies.

I love this machine! I have had other brands and this one is the best. I have long thread carpet and a couple of new puppies. You know what that means! My Hoover took care of it the very first time. I used an entire 48oz bottle of Preium Pet Hoover shampoo. I went really slow and I couldn't believe the color of the water in the receiver tank. YUK! Its not that color anymore and the bad smell is gone too. I need a little more practice with the hand tools for the stairs. It worked but I'm sure it will do better if I take my time. Set up was fairly easy and cleaning it for storage was even easier. Machine is a little heavy lugging up the stairs. Follow directions on how to lift/carry machine. I highly recommend this Hoover! WOW!

Purchased this item for my wife for Christmas because she is a compulsive cleaner and just loves this Hoover cleaner. She has vowed to never hire another professional cleaner again because the results with this cleaner were excellent. Your carpet will professionally cleaned and when you suck the water up after scrubbing you will see how dirty your carpet really was. Great buy at a Great price!!!!!!

Let me first say that this is one of the greatest home appliances that I own. I moved into an apartment with wall to wall carpet and JUST got a 7 week old puppy. Needless to say my carpet has become heavily stained with puppy "leavings" so I thought i would invest in a good steam vac. I read the reviews on this one and just had to get it. The 5 brushes do such a good job of scrubbing the carpet that going over an area just once is usually enough. I also love the Power Surge feature which releases twice as much cleaning solution for those really tough stains. After doing my entire apartment the carpets look better than when I moved in and they had been professionally cleaned. I am extremely pleased with this purchase!

This Stemvac works great! I had debated getting my carper cleaned professionally and I am so glad I did not, and decided to buy this and give it a try. The one thing I did realize with this machine is that when I went over the carpet with the solution it worked great, but if I let that dry then went over it again with just hot water it did WONDERS!!! My carpet in areas was BLACK and now it looks like new!! I cant believe this cleaner got my carpet looking like new again... instead of me having to hire someone to do it professionally. Highly Recommended!!

I read all the reviews here and made the decision to go out and buy one of these. I went right out to the store and purchased one thinking "oh sure, the people who wrote those reviews must have gotten something in return for writing them". Well, I was wrong, they are right on the money with this steam cleaner. It is better than ones I have rented in the past. It is so easy to use I can't believe it. If you are thinking of getting a carpet steam cleaner, I highly recommend this one. There is one other model that costs more that heats the water. Some say this is best to kill bacteria. I don't agree. If you use the recommended cleaning products, you get the same results. It is a great machine !!

Bought this sweeper because i was tired of paying to get carpets cleaned. Second time sweeper lost suction. Couldnt figure out why. Tried again later and suction was back???? Seemed clean well but there has to be better out there

love the cleaner...easy to assemble, easy to use...cleans better than any rental cleaner that I've ever used...costs less than one cleaning by professionals, but you can use it again and again.

Let me start by saying that I used to clean the carpets in a hospital. That being said, I have to say this little thing really works. OK, so the name is misleading, it doe NOT produce steam. it merely heats the water. but compared to the commercial extractors that I have used in the hospital, this little guy picks up WAY more water than those other machines. The spinbrush attachment is really handy for getting the edges of the carpets, and upholstery. The only downside I can think of is the one gallon capacity. But seeing how you can use this on stairs, and the fact that almost all home machines have the same one gallon capacity, it might not be such a negative issue. If you are thinking of getting a home carpet cleaner, I can't think of a better machine than this.

Great at cleaning and isn't too heavy. Easy to move around. However, the handle piece is extremely loose & the machine has fallen over several times when I walk away. Have to prop it against a wall. Going to have it looked at/replaced.

This is light weight and easy to manuver. It is very powerful and picks up even the most miniscule pieces of dust. It is super easy to use and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The first one I purchased did as a lot of reviews said leaked and the scrubber's middle brush fell out, therefore I could not finish the job. Good old Best Buy (I Love Them) switched it right out and I have used the 2nd one twice and LOVE IT. It does a great job! I have a dog and cat and with the combination you need something that will do the job and this machine does just that. I use the pet formula from Hover, leaves the carpet soft.

This cleaner did an amazing job removing the pet stains from the carpet. My roommate brought a new puppy in the house and we've had 4 dogs continually marking their territory! Renting the Rug Doctor every few weeks was starting to add up. I didn't expect much from this model, and cannot believe the results. Using just water the stains were removed from the carpet in one cleaning. And the rug really was dry in less than an hour! There are complaints about the cheap plastic parts. It's impossible to find any product this day that isn't comprised of cheap plastic parts for under a few thousand dollars. Don't let that dissuade you. This Hoover is completely worth the $179.

This is a great machine. It is easy to use and cleans well. Great investment because it saves a lot on having the carpet cleaners come and works a lot better than the grocery store rentals.

I was hesitant on buying this machine, due to I have always had a Bissel. But lately it just wasn't doing the job. So after reading many reviews, I went and bought one, brought it home assembled it (which is easy I might add) and then went to work. Let me say I was amazed after just going over a spot once. It turned my carpet back to the color I didn't think I would ever see again. I love this machine and if you have pets then this cleaner is right for you. I Used the pet shampoo formula they have and WOW it brought out stains that we thought would never come out. Well, I am very satisfied and will say it is well worth the price. So long Bissel, Hello Hoover!! :)

I read the previous reviews on this shampooer and decided that I would purchase my first Hoover. I moved back into my house to discover that my tenants left the carpet absolutely filthy. I rented a heavy shampooer from the hardware store and because it didn't have rotating brushes, my carpet was left with clean and dirty streaks throughout. This shampooer has 6 rotating brushes and you have the option of low or high. Plus, the machine is easy to push back and forth. It did an amazing job and my light grey carpet is spotless.

So I live in an apartment and wanted to clean my carpet really bad, so I got one of these and it worked great!!! One thing people need to remember is to buy more cleaning solution because it came with one little bottle. It was enough to do my 1200sq feet apartment, but if you live in a house with lots of carpet you might need more. Oh yeah I work for Best Buy and I recommend this product whoever has dogs. Got rid of alot of marks and smells. Bought it on Cyber Monday and got it for $109.99!!! Great product!!!

I have done my research when I started thinking about replacing my extremely old steam cleaner. I had a hoover for 15+ years and just thought it was time to get a new one. After considering all options, even buying one of those rental machines, I decided that I would get this hoover. It has done an awesome job! As the owner of two puppies, my carpets had been taking a beating with the housebreaking. I highly recommend!!!!

After going through two Bissell's, I decided to go with a Hoover. This machine is well worth the money!! Add a little oxyclean or quick-n-brite to the cleaning solution and you will be amazed!!

This vac was beyond my expectations. it did a great job. the price was very very reasonable. it removed a wine stain from the carpet that had been there for years. everyone should have one for that unexpected spill or mess.
