My daughter, who just turned 13, was so happy. In less than an hour she was very comfortable riding it. She was a bit insecure at first but soon realized it self-balanced. I’d rather not mention here how long it took for me to feel safe, but it is. If you’ve never used a similar hover, you will feel insecure like she…well, ok, like I did, but you will quickly notice that it’s a lot more stable and safer than non-powered ones. Six-mile range is not a lot. If you use it in a steep area or if you are on the heavy side, that range can be halved. Still, you can play for about an hour or so non-stop before having to recharge it. In our experience, it lasted about an hour and 45 minutes the first time, counting breaks. I believe that range is the only downside of the Hover 1 Ranger Scooter but after a few days, it feels like it lasts longer. That may be mainly because I stopped playing as much and let it mostly for my daughter to enjoy it. The RGB light effects are fun, and you can control them with the app that you can download on your phone. I would just advise to not let your kids use the app while riding the rover. That would be an invitation for disaster like having to replace a phone that fell and broke into pieces, or worse such as a getting hefty hospital bill and an injured child. Not that this is necessarily a dangerous toy, but you get the picture. If you want a longer range, go with an upgrade model instead. Otherwise, your kid or kids will still have a lot of fun with this one. Just let them play and don’t forget that there is a weight limit, which if exceeded can not only increase the chances of breaking it but also decreasing the range.

I never thought I would have a lot a fun with a device like this, the unboxing is simple, inside the box you can find the hoover-1, the charger and user guide, once the device was charged I tried for the first time this and I can say that learning how to ride this device, is easier than I thought, in the first 10 min I was able to stand straight and balanced, the next 15-20 min I could ride a few feet, I think its about practice and getting use to it. The performance is good, it feels smooth when you're riding and moving around, the battery last between 1:40hrs up to 2 it depends but I think is enough considering the size and the speed you can reach which is 7mph, the device is a little heavy so I recommend using it where there is some place to charge it in case is needed, in summary I think is a pretty interesting device easy to use and you can have fun even if you're not a kid, I can highly recommend it.

The Hover1 Ranger took the fear out of the self-balancing scooter game for me! It has multiple modes to make this one super easy for beginners to learn with! The smartphone app works great to stream music or just adjust the skill level or RGB Lighting! This has been hours of fun for me and my kids!

I’m reviewing this hoverboard as a forty-something adult who wanted to try it out and have a fun way to to the pool and back! I expected it to take forever to be able to balance, but after reading all the instructions and stepping on, I was riding around in about five minutes. I downloaded and connected to the app to see the odometer and control the lights. Easy and intuitive, totally customizable. The board doubles as a pretty solid Bluetooth speaker too. It pairs just like any Bluetooth speaker and sounds full and loud. It brings to mind riding an old school boom box. The ride is completely smooth, not at all like a skateboard, much smoother. I got a helmet because you just should, and I’m glad I did. I took one spill and yes it hurt, but it will not keep me from hopping back on. Charging is simple as plugging it in a regular wall socket and waiting about an hour to go from less than half to completely full. Range is six miles, and for my purposes of kicking around the neighborhood, that is more than plenty. I never come close to low charge. The build is solid as a rock. It is sturdy with 6.5” wheels that absorb bumps surprisingly well. It’s easy to carry by the handles on the wheel wells. I recommend for anyone who wants a great basic board. Just be safe and read the guide. The tips in there are spot on for controlling and balance.

Bluetooth works nicely, very smooth riding and overall very nice hoverboard

This was the number 1 item on my son’s Christmas list. I went ahead and purchased it first thing thinking a nicer hoverboard would last longer both in battery life and in the life of the product. He was so excited!! Out of box, the item would t hold a charge. We attempted charging it for short and longer durations. Right now my son charges it over night and it lasts him ~20 mins standing and way less when he attaches the buggy. He can’t even make it up and down our short street. I felt terrible. I saw other reviews with replies from the manufacturer saying to contact them so I followed suit. Upon contact they asked me so many questions, clearly looking for a reason or action so they could void the warranty and not help with the repairs. Finally, when they asked me how long we had charged it overnight (we attempted multiple different durations mind you), they concluded we had voided the warranty by over charging it so they would not assist in a repair. DO NOT BUY. Your money is better spent with a different company with better customer service. This is obviously an issue with their products that they are attempting to let go unresolved. We will not buy from them again.

Works as advertized . It is very fast . The battery lasts for a while and seems to go up and down hills no effortlessly with 140 lb person on it .

I bought it for my 7 year old nephew and he loves it. The lights and music and he control those things from he's phone . My gift was one of his favorites

I’m 63 years old and I just wanted to try one of these things ,watched my granddaughter do it than I tried it and to my surprise I figured it out right away and still haven’t fallen yet,I love it!

Nice hoverboard, nice and easy to use app that controls the lights and sound. kids love it and the speakers on it are not bad. Battery lasts about 30-45 mins with the kids playing non stop on it

This hover board was a Christmas gift for my daughter, who has been begging us for one since last year. Well he wish came true when her brother surprised her with one for Christmas. Unfortunately she only got to ride it for 3 days . For some reason the battery died after 10 minutes of use. So we exchanged it for another one which they do not have in stock so therefore, we had to order it to be shipped at the house. It came very fast, which I was quite pleased with. Just like the first one this one only lasted a day. For some reason once again, battery could not keep the charge, so we took it back to Best Buy again and purchased a different model, hoping the new model will last more than the other two we shall see if not this purchase will go back and I will go to a different company for a new hover board

I was a bit skeptical at first, but I turned it on and got onboard. It is very fun. Move your feet forward, it goes forward, move them backwards it goes backwards. I’ve even got it turning corners! Keep in mind, I don’t ride a skateboard. I thought my lack of skateboard experience might be an issue, but no, it is so easy! Connecting to my iPhone was one click and then I had music. You could even use it as an outdoor speaker. Since I just had the 30th anniversary of my 29th birthday, I don’t dare go the maximum speed, but I do pretty good up and down the hallway! Can’t wait to take the Hoover 1 Ranger up to the lake this summer. Planning to cruise up to the mailbox on it.
