The kids really love this bike. It's fast enough for them to have fun on and learn the basics of throttle control but not so fast that it can really get away from them and get them in trouble. Assembly was pretty straight forward but the instructions were pretty sparce. The included pump is a joke and I can't imagine actually using it to inflate the wheels, I immediately filed mine in the bin. The bike itself is pretty stout. It has put up with quite a few spills and wipe outs with only a few scuffs on the plastic parts. We haven't really tested the claimed range as the girls only use this around the neighborhood but so far it's never left us wanting for more battery. My only real problem with the bike is the size. They state this is intended for twelve year old kids however it appears to be sized for someone half that age. My eight and ten year old girls make this thing look pretty small and the pegs are poorly positioned for anyone larger than an average six year old. That said, the kids don't seem to mind but I do feel they may be learning bad body positioning if they were to try real dirt bikes later on.

I have two daughters, 5 and 8, they both picked up riding bicycles w/o training wheels in a matter of hours so I had confidence that they would be able to ride this electric dirt bike. The recommended age is 8, but both of my girls can ride it. The 5-year-old is a tiny bit wobbly on it, but she manages it and has yet to fall down. The fun will last for hours upon hours with the 9-mile range that this little bike has. I live right across from a dirt pathway, and they love to ride it back and forth hitting the bumps (which there are no shocks, only the padded seat and air-filled tires to soften the blow. Assembly is minimal with some plastic covers and handlebar that needs to be assembled. Initial charging took it a few hours and the charger itself will either show red (charging) or green (charged). The instructions recommend that you do not keep on the charger for longer than needed. So far in the short time that we have had it, I have charged it three times with no issues. I can appreciate the simple design of how this is built, the motor is right inside the rear wheel, batteries are in low in the middle for weight, and there is only a rear disk brake that is operated by a brake lever. There is an on/off button on the left side of the bike and my 8-year-old will sometimes hit it with her leg while she is riding, and it will shut off. No biggie but it is something that she has to watch when she rides it. The throttle can be eased on, so it is not just a full power unless you twist it all the way. I showed them first now to manage that aspect before setting them off and they understood it easily. Over-all this is a great design that is easy to handle and fun to ride. Always have your child wear a helmet just in case and this seems like a good introduction to riding motorcycles or at least a lot of fun putting around the neighborhood.

Fun and Fast (Enough) For Kids!

TLDR; Always wear a helmet! 250w brushless motor to propel up to 9mph. 120lb weight limit, and the claimed 9 mph / 9 mile range will vary based on user weight. Pneumatic tires, and air pump included. Rear disc brake activated by left handlebar lever. Right handlebar grip provides a twist throttle like a real motorcycle. Lightweight at around 35lbs so it can be easily transported. Some assembly required out of the box. Out of the box, there is some assembly required, namely attaching the handlebar and affixing the front plastic fairing. Tools are provided in the box so you won’t have to source your own. I did not find it difficult at all to put the handlebar in place; just make sure you line up the handlebar so that it is center and tilted for best comfort. Remember, the left handlebar has the brake lever, and the right handlebar has throttle. Fully assembled, the bike seems very sturdy, yet lightweight for an e-bike made for young kids. The manual states that children 8 years and older are suited for this bike, but as a parent, it is at your discretion to determine if your child is capable of operating this vehicle. Don’t forget the helmet! As far as comfort, the only shock absorbers are the cushioned seat and the 10” air filled tires set to 36psi. Advertised as a dirt bike, I thought there might be at least a rear shock absorber but then realized that it's styled as a dirt bike with tires that match. One design choice that I appreciate is that the brushless motor is directly driving the rear motor versus a chain or belt system found on other e-bikes. This is one less thing to worry about in terms of maintenance. The overall drivetrain, which is effectively just the motor itself, is very quiet. Other notable design plusses are the folding footpegs in the event of a drop or spill. Using the bike boils down to the capability of the user, so be prepared for drops, scrapes and scratches. Assuming the rider is comfortable around a bike, e-bike or any motorized bike for that matter, the Trak provides proportional throttle, meaning the rider can control their speed rather than have the motor pegged at full throttle. Simply roll the throttle a little bit, and the bike will slowly move. Roll more throttle and more speed will develop. This is a great concept for young children to understand as this will carry over to most motorized vehicles as they get older. To stop, simply pull on the left handlebar lever. Since the disc brake is on the rear tire only, there is no chance for the rider to be sent over the handlebars if a panic stop is needed. The only con I can think of is the absence of a battery charge remaining meter. I think that would have been a great addition. Is it fun? Of course! My kids already have a couple of small e-bikes from other brands and they already tell me that the Hover-1 Trak is much lighter and easier to handle. I think that is a big driving point for young kids and gives them the confidence to use the bike. We certainly haven’t tested the 9 mile range limit, but I didn’t detect any degradation of power after an hour of play. I keep the charge topped off between uses so it's ready.

    A blast for beginner riders

The Hover 1 electric dirt bike for kids is a great option for adventurous parents who might be looking to start their little ones off early in dirt biking. I think this model was the perfect fit for our little one who is almost seven years old and weighs about 50 pounds. Her feet easily touch the ground when seated on the dirt bike and the handlebars are in the perfect position, not too far for her reach. This is great for smaller beginner riders since they’re able to put their feet down when stopping but can also fit children up to 120 pounds comfortably. It is also sturdy enough wear you shouldn’t have to worry about the chassis breaking if taking a fall. It was very easy to set up out of the box by just connecting the handlebars to the front using the included hardware and charging it fully before first use which took about an hour or so. The dirt bike weighs just over 30 pounds so it’s easy for most parents to move around. It travels at a maximum of 9 mph and approximately 9 miles to a charge providing hours of fun. Our family has taken this up and down our street and to the park where the kids get plenty of attention from other envious kids. The only complaint I heard from the older kids is that they wished it went a little faster.

Absolutely garbage! Got it for my daughter for xmas (2022), only charged it 3x since, and now it won't take a charge or the charger is faulty. I should've known something was fishy when they weren't even offering a 1 year warranty for this bike.. Shame on me! Save your money!! There's a reason this bike is no longer being sold by Best Buy. Other reasons for it being garbage, upon reading the instructions it states: don't ride over bumps, potholes, or crack larger then an inch (or something ridiculous like this), don't ride it through water/puddles or get it wet under any circumstances... Basically ride it on a basketball court inside. Also, the brake pad was grinding against the disk on day 1. Should've trusted my instincts and sent it back immediately!! I does look great though :/

It's so so, my son is 6, he loved it but we ended up getting him a gas powered one 3 days after this wasn't enough. And the on / off button is in the most random spot. So your leg turns it on and off all the time.

Purchased for Christmas for my 5 year old. Made it one charge and then charger fried my power strip and stopped working. Waited for weeks for manufacturer to respond to my request. Said charger and charging system not warrantied. I asked to buy another charger and was told they dont sell as spare part. Process took so long that it pushed us out of 90 day return policy. Waste of $300 that was only able to be rode for one charge of battery. STAY AWAY!!!!

Hover 1 trak electric dirt bike, in the box is the bike, manual, air pump for tires, wall charging cord, some assembly is required (handle bars & fender) tools included. Quick & easy to assemble. Once it was fully charged it was non stop fun for the kids, it’s is chain less so no worries about a chain falling off it’s quite I didn’t expect it to be so silent to be honest cause it’s a dirt bike! It’s hand controlled like a real dirt bike left is break right is throttle. Rear breaking system. It weighs about 35lbs so light weight for adults or older kids smaller kids would still need a little help, it’s a great 1st starter dirt bike for younger kids, I fell it’s safer for kids that know a little about dirt bike cause it is a twist break & throttle or fast learners, speed goes up to 9 miles & holds up to 120lbs, I feel it ran its best with the kids that weighed around 75-85lbs, I felt the heavier they got the slower it went but still fast enough, the charge last about 7 hours. Which to the kids felt like only an hour! I wish the charge lasted longer especially cause we took it out for the day but died a couple hours before we left. Over all kids loved it didn’t have to worry about them going to fast of course still had them wearing helmet & pads. We will be purchasing a second one.

The Hover 1 Trak electric bike is a well constructed mini dirt bike for most younger kids. As you take it out the box you see that it is well built but not too heavy. Minimal assembly is required out of the box and I would estimate about 10-15 minutes of set-up time. It does have some charge out of the box however you should charge it before it's first use. As indicated by the manufacturer the bike has a 250 watt chain less electric rear wheel motor with 12 inch tires and rear disc brakes. Best of all is it is absolutely silent. The specs for the dirt bike indicate it is rated for a max weight limit of 120 lbs and has a range of 9 miles with a max speed of 9 mph. Even though 9 mph seems slow it was plenty fast for the younger kids. The bike did not struggle at all with kids that were at or slightly above the 120 lb weight limit however you may get less than the stated 9 miles of range. It is important for the kids to wear a helmet, especially for the younger kids who may be getting used to balancing on their normal bikes. The dirt bike is well constructed so it should be able to hold up to minor spills but I would be careful about major hits. The power switch is in an area that may accidentally get hit while riding it so tell the kids to mindful of the switch while riding. We have not tested the 9 mile range in a single ride but it seems to work for hours when we do short runs up and down the street in the neighborhood. As the manufacturer states please check you local regulations before you let your kids ride this in the neighborhood. Some localities have regulations against kids riding motorized vehicles on the road. Overall the Hover 1 Electric Dirt Bike is well constructed and should provide hours of fun for the kids.

Battery stopped charging after the third charge. No juice. Started off weak. Now doesn't do anything at all. Also, harsh bumpy ride and the twist grip throttle is a bad design. Rotational throttle is too loose. It wants to take off on its own when gripping it normally. Your kid will go flying unintentionally at least once or twice before the battery dies permanently. Overall, not worth $350. I would buy for $99

Really Cool Bike That’s Smaller Than Expected

I had high hopes for this bike, I was excited to get this for my son. He had outgrown the power car we had for the other kids. He is 11 the packaging says 12 and up but we knew he was ready for this. Once we go it and I put it together my first thought was this is way smaller than I expected and I am unsure if this will fit my son. I was right he is too big for it and he is not even at the age range it says to be. This is honestly more for 8-9 year olds. In regards to performance The bike works well. It has plenty of power and the speed is decent. The fact it can go almost 9 miles means it last for a long time. We did have have a couple of small issues that were did not affect performance but did make the bike a bit cheaper than I would expect. The power switch had to issues the light for when it is one stopped working after about 2 days and we had an issue where the power switch moved out of position so it would no longer stay in the on position I had to jiggle it and get it back into place after that it has worked just fine. Overall the bike does what it says it does and overall is pretty good quality we were just disappointing in the size.

So 9 mph is pretty fast. Especially when this low to the road. Even at 9MPH you're going to want a very solid-built vehicle that performs and feels sturdy. I'm happy to report that this bike feels sturdy and as long as your tween can ride a bike fairly well then he/she should be good to go on this! Assembly out of the box was super-easy. The bike was setup a ready to charge in around a half hour. We fully charged the battery before riding it and that took about 3 hours. Probably the best feature of this vehicle is one that is not really listed. It is whisper quiet and super powerful. Even though the weight rating is 120lbs, we had a neighbor's child try it and he weighed 150lbs and the bike showed zero signs of stress. The bike is very well designed and while I think it would survive a tip over, crashing it at speed would not fare well for the plastic parts. This is the future of childrens' rideable vehicles. Gone are the days of deep cycle rechargeable batteries in the Powerwheels of yester year. Bring on the Lithium Ion/polymer batteries for the next gen! This bike is a crystal clear signal that they are coming!

My kids love riding this dirt bike. It goes faster than I expected to, which makes it fun to ride. My son is 10 and a little heavier than the 120 max weight, but we have not had any problems with it running when he rides it. I also have a 10 and 11 year old niece and nephew and they have a blast riding it too. My 4 year old just started getting comfortable riding her bike with training wheels so as soon as she can ride a bike, comfortably, without training wheels she will have a blast riding this too. The set-up was not difficult. It was pretty easy to put together in less than 20 minutes. The box was not heavy at all either. I was able to drag it to my backyard from my living room so we could set it up outside. It really is quiet too, which is great so my kids are able to ride around in the backyard or up and down our block without disturbing the neighbors with a loud engine. I will be truly honest, I am about 160lbs and I tried it out myself and I can see why my kids enjoy it. It goes fast for kids, but not so fast where it becomes unsafe. I rode it about 10 feet just to test it out myself and it runs great. We have had no issues with it. It does not take long to charge it. We charged for about 30 min when we first got it and my kids rode it around for about an hour. I would recommend it for kids that can ride a bike without training wheels. They will have a blast riding this.

The Hover-1 - Trak Electric Dirt Bike is a great starter bike for kids! I've been wanting to get my son away from the tablets and more into outdoor activities. Being a car enthusiast myself, the Hover-1 - Trak Electric Dirt Bike was the perfect opportunity to get him involved with motorsports and evolving technologies. There is very little assembly that needs to be done, and all of the hardware and tolls are included. Including the tools is a magnificent thing that Hover-1 did because the tools are small enough to where you can carry them around in case something gets loose. You have to put the handle bars on the bike, front flare, and the shield at the front. Another thing that they included is an actual air pump. That is great! Hover-1 thought of everything to get the dirt bike up and running quickly. The Hover-1 - Trak Electric Dirt Bike is lots of fun for kids. My son has been enjoying it so much. I like to put it in the back of the Jeep and go have a little father-son time as often as we can. I would highly recommend the Hover-1 - Trak Electric Dirt Bike to anyone!
