One of the best movies for all children ages.
The conclusion of the saga that started it all with excellent special effects and a lot of action with an excellent story line.
Recommend 100% for the whole family especially if you watch it in 4k format to appreciate all the vivid details not seen in dvd or blue ray format.

The third steelbook in the trilogy finishes the set off nicely. The cover art is well done. Enjoyed the film and happy to have it in my collection.

Great movie for the entire family. Adults and kids alike get the chance to see some incredible Animation. Some good life lessons examples are presented with encouraging youth to make and take positive risks in helping and serving others.

(Viewed on 65in LG OLED) There's a slight uptick in detail over the 1080p feeling a little on the soft side.. The Dolby Atmos track is a little shallow but serviceable. The real panty dropper here is the HDR which brings the fire to life in some scenes. Black levels are deep. Bot a disappointment but could have been better compared to titles like Despicable Me.

I haven’t seen the others, but really enjoyed this one. Now I want to check them out. This was a fun movie and had a great story. The picture quality is one of the finest I’ve seen on a 4K animated disc. Looks real at times.

Loved this movie! They did total justice to the continued series. Loved that they kept the characters voices as well however I did not care for the fact they pulled TJ Miller off as tuffnut. He has a serious funny impromptu skill set. His comedy comes off as silly and funny and harmless. This new character came off as abrasive and a little mean. It did not seem warm hearted and funny as TJ. I don’t agree with pulling someone’s life out from under them for allegations made until proven guilty. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Anyone can accuse anyone of anything and that doesn’t make it true. I am very disappointed we are jumping to our own accusations and damaging someone’s reputation and life based on a persons allegations. Also I thought snotlouts character was a bit off as well. Usually he comes off less creepy than that and they did way too much w him and Hiccups mom. Wasn’t sure the point in that. Otherwise the light fury and toothless adventure was awesome against the bad guy and how hiccup and Astrid married and both showed getting older and new generations. That was totally sweet. Anyway, just had to look up all that info on why TJ Miller wasn’t in the movie and was super bummed. We also watch the Netflix race to the edge series and he’s def a great big funny personality there. The film will not be the same without his witty charming personality. Not sure we will watch much more. Love Astrid but don’t like America Ferrera personal agenda either. Not her decision to decide innocent or guilty. Anyway loved the movie it had a great storyline and the dragons were perfect.

A satisfying, emotional ending to the trilogy

When the first How to Train Your Dragon was originally released, I was pretty quick to dismiss it as looking like it was exclusively aimed towards a younger audience. I assumed the animation would be sub-par and admit to having a strong Pixar bias. When I finally got around to watching it, however, I quickly realized how wrong my assumptions were. Yes, many of the jokes involving the other younger characters didn't work for me, but the film had heart, the animation was gorgeous, and much of the humor landed.
Fast forward to 2019 and this series has proven to be a truly great trilogy, telling a complete and satisfying story that utilizes the strengths of animation to deliver on that story with warmth and exhilaration. The Hidden World features some sweeping, gorgeous moments, at least one outstanding action sequence, and top tier character animation.
For all the strengths of this series, I think it's the central "boy and his dog" relationship, which largely works because of the masterful work on Toothless. This film has perhaps executes that elements better than either of the previous two entries and earns an ending that packs an emotional wallop.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is, of course, an entirely digital production. It was reportedly finished at 2K, but that doesn't mean that there's not a wondrous image to be found. Indeed, the movie looks spectacular on the UHD format, managing to best a near-reference quality Blu-ray by a fairly significant margin. This is not simply a tweak around the edges but a serious improvement to both clarity and color. The former is certainly a little less dramatic than the latter, but the sheen and sharpness join together to enhance the intricate details around Berk and its human and dragon populace with fairly sizable increases in detail rendering and total image clarity. Dragon scales and bony protruding structures enjoy a much more firm, reliable, and texturally adept delivery. Small environmental details are just as impressive when seen up-close, like little bits of rock or moss or plant life seen around a huddle of brightly illuminated eggs at the 1:03:34 mark. The rise in clarity is fairly dramatic and surprisingly so for a digitally animated film.

I saw this movie in theaters and I cried. It's that good. I've been following the HTTYD series since the first movie, I even own the TV series. The Hidden World, the last movie in the trilogy, is in my opinion how stories should end, even if I didn't get the ending I wanted. It's that good, I didn't get what I was hoping for and I still love this movie. This movie is a great end to a phenomenal series, it does the series justice. We see each of the main characters grow into who they want to be and it's amazing. Hiccup as we've followed him from the first movie, comes into his own in this movie and understands the challenges that are placed on him. We see him grow also and learn what it means to truly love a dragon. This movie is absolutely beautiful, the animation and artwork is some of the best I've even seen. John Powell's music makes a return as it does in the other movies and it's just so on point is awesome.
If you've watched these characters grow from the first movie like I have, you should buy this movie. Dreamworks did an amazing job with this series.

I saw this movie in theaters, been one of the best animated trilogies in my mind. I love dragons, watching Hiccup, toothless and the gang grow up and see everything change in the movie was amazing. This final movie for the series really amazed me.
The animation work was beautiful, its amazing how animated movies can make you feel; hope, love, fear and just everything else you can think of.
If you've seen all the other movies you cannot miss this one, but you could honestly see this movie without having seen another HTTYD movie as they made it continue the story but also give it a story of it's own.

We really liked the original How to Train Your Dragon movie, but thought the second one was not nearly as good. This made me a bit unsure about watching this one. However, this is a wonderful movie, perhaps the best of the three. Amazing animation but that would not matter if it wasn't a well told engaging story, which it was. There were a few places where it bogged down which were probably put in there to play around with the 3D, but we didn't watch the 3D version. Other than that, good story with a nice ending.
You should watch the credits, also. There isn't an extra scene at the end, but the credits themselves contain some entertaining elements.
We will definitely put this one on our list for a future re-watching.

It's hard not to shed a tear saying goodbye to 2 characters you have watched grow up together on the big screen, with each film they grew and learned from each other. Hiccup and Toothless have a bond that has been unbreakable since the first film. As always the film brings lots of smiles and action and the voice actors clearly have a great time bringing their talents to these characters. It's a fitting end to the series but I wouldn't mind if they kept making more of them but I'll take 3 great films over the years. overall I grade this film an A. You will laugh and you will cry and have good time watching this.

Not many movies has a deep enough or creative enough writers or story tellers. When the first movie came out all of the buzz was because it was one of the first movies to use and bring back 3d. Everyone was over looking the wonderful story. With that said, number 2 &3 knocked it out of the park. This movie will bring a tear of emotion to your eyes. This is good family fun and will watch again. Color and the Atmos sound track was great. If you have one and two this a must have. If you don't then they are a must buy. It would be great if we could have more movies like this. I highly recommend this movie for family viewing.

The original movie was probably one of my favorite animated films of all time, and while the second film was admittedly darker in tone, it was still a worthy sequel. However, Dreamworks has a history of dropping the ball on the final chapter of a trilogy, so I was very pleased to find that in the case of Hidden World, they managed to create a satisfying conclusion. It has its flaws here and there, and let’s be honest, there’s really not much of a surprise in how the story ends. However, it’s still well written, and the level of detail that goes into the animation is phenomenal. Most definitely shelf-worthy!

I won't review the movie because the movie was good! I'll review the 4k transfer and the audio! Video, easily one of the best transfers for an animation film! The use of HDR was used with fantastic effect! Loved the scene of The Hidden World, brights we're amaizing, and darks were still well defined! Audio will give your Atmos set up a work out, just wish there was a little more deep bass (subjective)! Overall a quality transfer, with reference material through out!
