    I always buy a UV filter to protect a new lens. Hoya seems to be a well regarded filter manufacturer. The filter fits the 16-50mm kit lens on my a6000 well. It screws on and off easily. Best Buy gave an additional discount on small accessories like this filter when purchased along with the camera.

    Got a few of these after some close calls with my lenses. I would rather replace a filter than a lens. Haven't noticed any picture quality lose.

    I love this product because it is a cheap way to protect the very expensive lens. Easy to put on, and easier to clean and replace then an entire lens.

    It is a general use filter. One you must put on your camera as it protects it from scratches. It cheaper and easier to replace a filter then your lense. It also dose not effect the photo. It just fitters out uv witch help improve your photo. Dose not affect the light going in. If you need to reduce light get different filter or change setting in camera.

    A filter is something I wouldn't have even considered, if it had not been recommended by the sales rep. I've taken photos with and without, and this filter definitely enhances photo quality. Plus, it protects the camera lens from dust, dirt, and scratches.

    The Hoya NXT HMC UV 40.5 mm filter provides an excellent cover for my Sony camera lens. The protection of the lens was important to me and the UV filter is a plus.

    I purchased this filter as I have for all my camera lenses, to protect it from scratches. It is easier to replace this inexpensive piece of glass than the lens. This particular filter seems to work just great and it appears to be of good quality as I haven't noticed any artifacts in my images.

    Went in looking for lens filter and was told by staff this would be the best option. Very impressed. Sturdy and was easy to install. Has to clean the filter before installing tho
