    Does the job....

Let's be realistic. We use these to protect our lenses. In most cases, our lenses come with fantastic coatings and built in protection to keep glare and flare and double dare off of our pictures. But what protects the protection that is built in? Enter the Hoya Lens filter. It is solid and stops my fingers and dust and other things from touching my precious glass. I do wish for more weather protection, and a rubber seal would be awesome. But these get the job done and at a reasonable cost per piece!

I really only purchased this to have one in case the need arises. The reviews were good- I really base a lot of my purchases on reviews, so it's important to give your honest opinion. I bought this to go with my new Canon Rebel 6 bundle and have also purchased additional lenses, cleaning and care kit etc. Problem is, I haven't used it yet, so my review won't be as helpful as others-- still recommend it based on the reviews I read and the price was also good.

Great Value for a UV Filter

The Hoya NXT series UV filters are a great value. The filters are multi-coated optical glass, offer high light transmission, and are enclosed in metal frames. Yes, there are much more expensive UV filters out there and if you are a professional photographer, maybe you need that extra 1%-2% light transmission. However, for most folks these are superb and much better than the cheaper non-multi-coated filters.

For me lenses are investments and I like to protect my investments. A good UV filter should offer protection and not interfere with image quality. I'd say the Hoya does that but I am not sure cause I have never shot a picture without it. My pictures look good to me so I'd say the filter does its job well.

My habit when buying a new lens is to immediately put a new UV filter on it, mainly for protection. I thought this one was a bit pricey, but it was the only choice at the time. Hoya is definitely a reputable name, so the quality is good, but i would have settled for something cheaper had an alternate been available.

I was able to purchase this higher grade filter for the same price as the lower grade filter due to a great sale Best Buy had going on at the time of purchase. The filter seems to be of great quality.

for the size I was looking for Hoya was one of the only options I could find in store, while more expensive than the platinum that I was looking for it is worth it as I like to switch my filters out constantly, never sticks and is really clear.

This is ok for what it is, but I would HIGHLY recommend a UV lens filter for nothing more than a protector for the expense glass of your lens. If you scratch this, you are only out about $20 versus scratching a lens and then being out hundreds.

    Disappointing Filter

I purchased these filters with high expectations. Unfortunately, I realized that although they work great in the daytime, they created a spray of green dots on the image when used at night. They now simply sit in my bag with zero use or functionality.

If you value the money spent on any lens, you must purchase a UV filter if for not other reason than the safety margin it provides. This filter easily serves the UV protection purpose for which it was designed. Good value.

Got a few of these after some close calls with my lenses. I would rather replace a filter than a lens. Haven't noticed any picture quality lose.

A UV filter for an expensive lens is a must have for me. I have several Hoya filters, including a set of close up filters. This brand has been my choice many times as I still get clear photos with a quality filter

I bought this filter mostly to protect my lens from dirt and scratches. It screws on easily and I haven’t noticed any ghosting, unlike some other inexpensive UV filters I’ve tried.

The Hoya UV filter works great for outdoor photography and is also great for protecting the front glass. Definitely would recommend. I use it on the Sony 55mm 1.8 FE.

Important to protect your camera lens from damage with any preferred filter - UV provides protection without altering the photo.

This is a must have especially great for using as a lens protector not to scratch the lens, this is a lot cheaper to replace compared to the lens itself

This is a quality UV filter. I almost always have a clear UV filter on my camera. I would rather break the filter than my lens if i were to ever drop the camera.
