    Whether it is simply for protection, or to cut down on haze. This filter does the job. There aren't major differences between Tiffen and this Hoya, but there are some and I would rather have abetter glass i can count on for a few extra bucks!

    I purchased this filter at the same time as a new lens. I have not purchased Hoya before, but it has a good reputation in eyeglasses, so this should be a good product. It fits the lens.

    unless you are purchasing a high-end lens, this is probably more than most people really need. BestBuy has better-value alternatives for day-to-day UV filters.

    Great investment to protect your lense!! Definitely worth the price. I’d suggest getting on per lense you own. Don’t take off and switch with lenses

    I bought this UV Lens Filter to protect my Canon - EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Standard Lens - Black. A must for protection as well as a lens hood.

    I don't know much about all the different styles of filters but I do know the extra layer of glass is so important to protect your lens. So far so good with this item and my photos have looked great as well.
