I think this is the ideal portable computer for the average (non-power) user that wants to be able to accomplish basic tasks like web-browsing, email and such. I had an old (nearly 6 years) 15.6" Windows laptop that had really reached the end of its life. I had purchased it not as my primary computer, but for travel and doing things like checking trail camera memory cards around my property. That computer cost over $600 new, was not high end when I bought it and was just a little too big and heavy to be "handy". When I started looking at replacement computers I initially narrowed it down to some $400-$500 windows models, but I was intrigued by the Chromebooks I was reading about. Last year my wife purchased a Chromebook just to "have a computer" to do certain tasks that her tablet was poor at or wouldn't do at all. It turned out to be a godsend when my son was required to do his last 3 months of school remotely. That Chromebook did EVERYTHING he needed to do, and while assisting him I discovered how simple and really slick the operation was. I found that things that I thought I wouldn't be able to live without moving from a windows laptop weren't missed at all. The fact that Android apps are available for Chromebooks now was a HUGE bonus as I had moved to Android tablets over the last few years and had already found some solid productivity app options. That experience changed my whole view of Chromebooks and I turned to looking for one for my own use.
Enough background, how about this particular item- I am really happy with this computer and it has exceeded my expectations in some respects for well under $200 at purchase. Booting up is VERY fast. My personal or work windows laptop computers have never ever started up so quickly. Everything I have tried to do with this has performed faster than the $1000+ windows laptop that work provided me. Screen resolution may not be the pinnacle of display technology but it is clear enough for everything I have done with my old eyes and I actually have found that there is much less glare (key when taking it on the go outside) than I had on my older laptop with a much "better" screen. I thought I was really going to miss the screen size downsizing from the 15.6 but for what I have used it for I really haven't even noticed. I tried 2 competitor's Chromebooks before I purchased this one and the above items were pretty much the same for them, where this one impressed my enough to purchase over them was with the keyboard and the available ports. First, the keyboard is one of the best I have ever tried on any "budget" laptop with a very good feel to the keys, which while not "clicky" have a nice amount of tactile response and I have found excellent accuracy. I don't hammer the keys like some people, and on several keyboards I have tried over the years I have found that keys that are too "soft" often have me missing letters. I also will say that the keyboard is thin enough that my floating thumbs/pal/wrists never hit the trackpad, which was a constant annoyance on my old Windows machine, which had a very oversize, over-senstative touchpad. In terms of ports this unit has 2 USB 3.0, a micro-sd 3.5mm headset (phone/mic combo) and USB-C. The portsare well spaced so I can leave things plugged in without crowding and the inclusion of the USB-C (I only consider 1 as there are two but 1 is power input) at this price has proven to be an outstanding feature. Using a very inexpensive USB-C hub (sun $20) I already had I have added several additional port option (SD, Ethernet, USB 3, HDMI) and it has worked flawlessly. This USB C isn't something that I saw on comparably priced models from other manufacturers. Using the USB C hub I have used 1 port on the laptop for mouse nano receiver, 1 port for 256 gb nano flash drive, then 1 port on hub for wired USB number pad (laptop keyboard is tenkeyless), 1 port on hub for optical DVD drive with an SD card full of pictures plugged into the hub and everything has worked without trouble.
It remains to be seen if this less than $200 laptop will continue to serve and survive as long as my old windows one did, and to be fair I have only had this a couple of weeks at this point, but so I far I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase and with the usefulness of this item in its intended role being a mobile supplement to my far more powerful desktop pc. I am not asking the world of it, but it has done everything I HAVE asked, and done it well.

I purchased this Chromebook for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it and it was super simple to set up. I am well versed in mac OS and Windows, but I had never touched a Chromebook before. I was able to set it up with no problem at all. We will see how user friendly it is if there is ever an issue with it. It is the perfect size for a child and seems to be fairly durable.

I purchased 2 of these for my young kids to use for their remote learning. They load up super quick and have been very easy for them to use. Great battery life too. I have never used a chrome book myself before but after seeing theirs in action I may get another one for me to use for online browsing and apps. They are still fairly new but so far for the price I am very impressed.

Perfect for daily browser needed application. Perfect for my school kids. Light weight. Long battery life. Speedy enough. Not for PC enthusiasts/heavy duty users. Cheap enough to get one without big shopper's remorse. FHD display (like Amazon Fire HD 10) would have been cherry on top, but this HD display is enough to get basic needs filled. Price justifies all the short comings.

Great value here. Small, lightweight, has USB-C for data or power. Screen doesn't look great though (poor contrast) and the plastic build feels cheap. I do recommend it if you want to save some money. I paid $119 I think.

My nephew needed a laptop with a camera for school, so I opted to get him this one. The price was very reasonable. It’s a good size for his little hands. Easy for him to use. He video chats with me everyday after school using this laptop. Good value. Would recommend for anyone looking on a budget.

So far so good. The laptop is for a nine year old. For school and her personal use. She hasn’t had any problems with it so far. She had the laptop since 11/29/2020. It’s easy for her to use. It’s lite and easy to manage but also strong.

Perfect size and weight. Plus, great battery life. Takes very little time to start up and then runs fast. My only hang-up is that chromebooks in general do not work with older printers.
