I have an iffy relationship with Chromebooks, because I really want to like them and the convenience that they allow but I can't get over the proprietary OS issue. I had used Crouton on this but it doesn't leave all of the memory for the Ubuntu distro that I was using and Crouton only allows 12.04 (I may be wrong but I had issues with installing other applications because of the age of the distro). This has/had the potential to be a really good lightweight Linux machine, but the work for it is just too much to warrant trying with the added highly likely possibility that you will brick the machine. I did really like the form factor of this one, I usually don't like the plastic nature of Chromebooks and did like that this one was metal but not as expensive as a Google Pixel. I think this would be great if: 1. you want a higher end Chromebook that isn't made of plastic, OR 2. you know how to erase the Chrome OS and load Linux on it which involves taking off the back, removing a screw, and changing the firmwear, but all of those things will void the warranty (of course).

Overall, good laptop! Very light and fast (sometimes). At times it takes a long time to connect to wifi. Love the backlit keyboard. Although it has many nice features - I don't believe it is worth the listed price.

Tired of microsoft and all their constant changes. Chromebook is exactly what i need for my web browsing, etc. Perfect size and speed.

Super sleek, literally like a macbook! the only thing is you gotta make sure you update it when you first get it bc it wouldn't let me open certain websites (spotify,etc) but once I updated it everything was cool! Fast, easy, i love it :))

Has its slow moments, especially when an update is needed, but is very reliable otherwise. Backlit keyboard is a nice touch.

This laptop has lasted me for about 4 years now and I love it. Sadly, the battery is starting to diminish and I have to keep my laptop on charge because the battery will die so quickly. In all other categories, this laptop has done very well and it's so easy to use!

My daughter researched this computer and others, this is the one she chose and it is exactly what she wanted. I'm glad I bought it.

It's a lightweight, quick, simple laptop. Perfect for the light work I'll need to do on it.

This unit feels amazing, the aluminum this Chromebook is made out of is just phenomenal, the chrome hinge on this Chromebook is crazy sturdy. This unit is super thin and light, the keyboard has great travel and it is lit up by a very satisfying white LED. The Display is breath taking, i mean this display goes toe to toe with a Macbook display, absolutely would recommend this unit to ANYONE.
