It’s nice. I wish it was touch screen. It’s light weight and I love the color.

The HP 14" Laptop (that doesn't seem to have any other name) is a halfway-decent productivity machine for basic web browsing and WiFi-based media consumption. I can see a budget-minded family buying a few of these for the kids to tear up doing homework, browsing the web and social media, and maybe some low-quality video watching for less than $200 each. I found the following areas concerning: - The monitor is VERY low density and VERY blue-ish... It took me getting the Intel Graphics Control Panel from the Microsoft Store and modifying the color balance to make this thing look normal (still dingy, TN panel quality, but the color was better) and the washed-out nature is hard to stomach when I'm used to more premium displays... It seems like similar offerings from Lenovo and Dell (for slightly higher prices) do better in this area. - RAM - 4GB isnt enough for Windows 11 to perform at normal levels. This is an otherwise snappy machine for the most part with all solid-state parts (save for the cooling fan) so this was a cost-based decision that could cost real experience with the device. I found that the model I have actually has a RAM upgrade slot on-board and I was able to swap the 4GB DDR4 SODIMM for a 16GB SODIMM I had laying around the shop. This made a HUGE difference in performance. From there I was able to turn off virtual memory, tax the slow onboard MMC/UFS storage, and take up less of the precious 128GB space with swapfile. The machine ran adequately for many tasks thereafter. - The finish on the machine is wannabe silver - Going after Apple's aesthetic and somehow making one all their own, HP uses this silver-on-silver motif all the way up well into their ENVY line. I think this machine would be stellar if it was done in a nice matte black to avoid scratches and make it more durable. Otherwise the build quality is what you'd expect sub-$200. Surprisingly sturdy actually all things considered. Would I recommend this? To someone who can't afford more machine but could muster an extra 30-40 bucks for a RAM upgrade and doesn't mind prying the bottom off to do it? Absolutely. To any other "enthusiast" or "serious" user? Not a chance. Thats not the target here - This is budget minded for budgets sake, and gets the job done for those use cases.

    Entry level HP laptop

This HP laptop is pretty entry level. It isn’t anything fancy, but will get the job done. The keyboard is kind of clicky as it makes noise when you are typing. It does not bother me, but it is not quiet like some other keyboards I’ve used. The keyboard layout is fine. I can sit with the laptop on my lap and type pretty well. The screen is pretty basic. I’ve noticed that it looks best when looking straight at it. If you look at it at an angle, it does not look as good. It does not fold open but maybe 120 degrees. The hinge seems pretty solid. Keep in mind that this is not a touch screen. I’m used to using a touch screen, so sometimes I think this is and try to use it as a touch screen, but it isn’t. The laptop turns on fairly quickly once you get everything set up the way you want it. It did take a little time to set up and get all my apps/preferences set up. It is much easier nowadays using Microsoft and logging into Microsoft and logging into Google Chrome. This makes set up much easier. The shell seems to be a hard plastic and seems relatively durable. It does seem to have some give to it so maybe it won’t dent like metal does. The Wifi works well. It connected to my home network easily. It found my HP network printer quickly and did not require downloading any additional software. Probably because both are HP. The mouse touchpad seems to work very well. I’ve had trouble with other touch pads being sticky, but not this one. The speed is pretty good and battery life seems to be pretty good. I have Fiber internet and that generally works pretty fast. All in all if you are looking for a solid budget laptop, this would be a good option.

    Great price for productivity!

Let’s start by immediately setting expectations. For the price of this laptop, I know that it is an entry level laptop, and so I am not going to be holding this against this laptop because at $200, I understand that it’s going to lack on performance, build quality, and memory. That said, if you need an affordable laptop at this price range for yourself or maybe your kid. I think this is a laptop to consider for the following reasons. Size and Screen: I’ve come to appreciate 14-inch laptops compared to 13” or 16” because of their portability when traveling. I can just throw this on my carryon backpack and have on issue getting it out and putting it back in when going through TSA. Additionally, the screen is big enough to get my tasks done or even watch movies on the go. It’s not the brightest screen and the colors are a big neutral, but again for the price point, it does the job. Build Quality: For the price point, I think this is a good bang for your buck. It’s a plastic body with an aluminum feel. The keyboard and trackpad do the job. I’ve used laptops with better keyboards and more accurate trackpads, but again it does the job. There is no lack of response from the keys. They work decent with typing and web browsing. No complaints from me. Connections and Compatibility: The option for connections is probably my favorite part of this laptop. Nowadays, many laptops only come with USB C connections, sometimes four of them! But they do not have a USB, HDMI or a memory slot. You usually need to have an adapter to connect, but with this laptop it’s built in! For productivity and file transfer this is a win. For these reasons, this makes this laptop a great choice for anyone on this budget!

First of all. This is a great productivity laptop for students, home use, etc. Setup was a breeze. I had to charge it out of the box to setup, but it charged quickly and held its charge well. Windows is familiar and was a welcome touch. The trackpad was good for a windows laptop and of this size. Keyboard offered enough travel to give feedback when keys were pressed. Bootup is quick. Opening apps like Microsoft Office, Edge, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat were quick and easy. I have installed a few apps on here that I use regularly and can attest that they work well as of today. Those apps are DialPad, Teams, Zoom, Slack, and other productivity applications. I want to be clear in this review, you cannot natively game at 4k on this rig, but I don't think that was ever the expectation. The expectation that should be set for this machine is that it will do any and all productivity that many people use, have a battery that will last you throughout the day, offer microphones, webcam, and speakers in a really solid package. I would recommend this to anyone needing those needs met.

As for the quality so far no problems its a easy setup with no faulty issues. The color however is a bit dimmer than what youd expect but all is well.

The HP 14” Intel 4GB memory with 128 GB UFS is at the entry level for back to school. This laptop comes with all the features needed to get on-line and beyond. The available jacks are: On the left rail is a SD card reader. Hard drive access and power light. On the right rail, there is the power cord plug, 1HDMI port, USB 5 Gbps ports (2), USB-C port, and 1 audio in/out port. This version of Windows 11 comes with a desktop version of Microsoft Office good for one year. This version of Windows comes in S-mode. To enable downloading of files you must turn it off. With the desktop version of Microsoft Office keeping your school or office files located is a breeze. It is required to have a working Microsoft Account to complete the proper setup of this laptop. There is a work around, but it is not worth the effort. The laptop is nearly instant start out of the box. The laptop is lightweight and easily carried, I would still suggest getting a carry case. The laptop has an industry standard touchpad. I still prefer to use a mouse.

A nice device costing less than a cheap cell phone

The HP 14" Laptop - Intel Processor - 4GB Memory - 128GB UFS has a cost of less than $200, the price of a cheap cell phone. Its low cost is no determining factor of its ability to perform the everyday computer basics people need. I setup the HP Laptop with my Microsoft hotmail account and gained access to install apps to fine tune the laptop to what I like to do online. The camera and microphone worked fine on my Skype video call. The HDMI connected to my TV HMDI input and displayed the HP 14" Laptop - Intel Processor - 4GB Memory - 128GB UFS screen on my TV screen. The HP 14" Laptop is extremely light weight and fits easily inside any medium size backpack. Surfing the internet with multiple windows open does not slow up resources on a noticeable level. The touch pad and cursor controls all of the access to the apps and all software. There is access to USB ports, headphone/microphone combo jack, and a memory card reader. The HP 14" Laptop - Intel Processor - 4GB Memory - 128GB UFS is a low budget, but high ability laptop to travel with or use in the home.

I needed a computer to do Bible Study on. I normally do it on my phone, I just really needed a bigger screen. This is perfect, didn’t cost a lot but the picture quality would have one thinking otherwise. It’s GREAT and I’m not straining my old eyes.
