I recently purchased a laptop from Best Buy that was clearly listed with a backlit keyboard in the specs. After picking it up and realizing it didn’t have that feature, I contacted customer service for help.
The chatbot was useless and directed me to a live agent. The live agent LEXI confirmed the listing says it has a backlit keyboard but then told me the laptop doesn’t actually come with one. So, basically - they acknowledged false advertising, but still refused to offer any solution beyond asking me to return or exchange it in-store.
I explained I didn’t have time to go through the hassle of a return, and asked for a partial refund or discount as a reasonable compromise. The answer? "We can’t do anything because it's an automated system" Completely unhelpful and inflexible.
The agent LEXI even implied I should have opened and tested the laptop in front of a line of customers at the pickup counter, which is laughable. Overall, a huge waste of my time.
If you advertise a feature, deliver it - or at least offer a real solution when you don’t. Terrible customer experience. And awful CS support from that agent at least.

Laptop was working great until this week. Thursday when I booted up the screen remained black. After trying several times, I took it back to Best Buy location where the associate checked out the problem and stated that they would have to send it to Kentucky to be repaired. The back light is corrupted. He states that it should be back in 2 weeks. So I've had the computer less than 30 days and already having a big problem. One would think a brand new pc wouldn't have these problems.
