Great Laptop for the Price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was saving up my money for my first laptop. I looked everywhere until I stumbled on to this one at the Black Friday sale. I have seen my parents use HP computers before and they always seem to be higher quality then other brands, and it does not disappoint. I got this at the sale price of $450, but it still is great at $650. It has one of AMD's high power Ryzen 5 series processors. This paired with a Gtx 1050 is a great combo for those who want something that can be a jack of all, master of none type of laptop. I have seen people complain about the screen, its fine, not the best, but in my opinion it is no where near as bad as people make it out to be. RAM is livable, will probably upgrade at some point to make sure that I can do any school work or play any higher intense games. Speaking of games, as long as you are not playing anything super intensive, it should play anything you want at decent settings. My only real complaint is that the plastic exterior is... well, plastic. I have multiple small dents on the laptop already. Though you have to know what you are looking for to see it. Overall, if you buy it right now it will not disappoint. Keep in mind though that AMD just announced the Ryzen 4000 series processors for laptops (this has a Ryzen 3000). Though I have never seen a CPU-GPU combo as good as this one. So one with Ryzen 4000 might cost more then this one.

Great laptop for light gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as my old laptop was dying it wasn't the best laptop but it did the job. As I like games i wanted to play some on my old laptop but it couldn't handle the game i would play and the battery would die quickly. Now with this laptop i can play all my games and more. Its not the best for heavy games but it can play all my games on high or more. Some of the games I play are GTA V, Minecraft, Beamng.Drive, Assetto Corsa, And more. They all are at high or more on the setting while getting 60 or more fps from the 1050 on an external monitor and 30 fps on the integrated monitor. One thing I wish the laptop had was a display port output so i can connect my free-sync monitor to the laptop another thing is that ive tried to play games using the internal monitor to play some games and the laptop will only use the Ryzen Vega graphics chip and not the gtx 1050 other that that is is a great laptop for anyone who want to try out pc gaming but doesn't want to spend 2000 dollars on a gaming laptop. I do recommend getting the laptop while it is on sale but other than that its awesome

||Posted . I had to sick to the promise I made without breaking the bank. He did his research online and came across this laptop because he wanted to ensure he could do his school work on it, but also play his games. So far (over two months) he loves the laptop. He is able to play his games without it crashing and the memory and graphics helps it run fast! I’ve been on it and it has great features.

Good for the budget
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the laptop when I owned it. But I inevitably returned it for the following: 1. It overheated even while watching a movie with a friend through zoom. There really was never a moment that it wasn’t hot. Fan was also loud. 2. Performance was shoddy. A bit more on the slower side which I expected from a Ryzen 5. Good for browsing, watching videos, and performed at its greatest while plugged in. 3. Speaking of being plugged in, you can’t game on it without the charger. FPS and quality of the game was drastically cut from superior quality to blocky, snail-speed quality. So portable gaming would mean being at a table with a charger next to you at all times. 4. The panel was annoying. You tilt it one degree off and the screen goes dark. I loved the matte finish though, but quality wasn’t the best especially if you’re not sitting at an eye level, flat surface (such as your bed) What I liked? Honestly the build was good. It was light, portable and felt like a decently made model. General performance on browsing was great. Besides the cons, I really think this is a great laptop for someone starting out in PC gaming or at least need a minimum discrete graphics card for simple tasks but don’t want to spend over $1000.

Awesome Budget Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During the Great COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020/21, all school aged children were forced to attend school through distance learning. This was purchased so my child could attend school and complete homework. Why a gaming laptop you ask? Well, let me explain this purchase and why I would get this laptop again. The specs, quality, and price were the best for our budget. It has a dedicated graphics card and a lighting quick Ryzen 5 processor. The solid state drive had this thing booting up in seconds, which meant my child was always on time for class. So, why a gaming laptop vs. a productivity laptop? The components in this laptop were far better that similarly priced productivity laptops. Looking at the spec sheet, this will be viable for school work for the next 3-4 years. After owning for a year and the abuse this computer has gone through, it might even be longer.

Runs well, easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop, works great. Runs quickly and is easy to use. Wish I had waited a few months to buy when it dropped in price but overall happy with my purchase. It’s not the highest performance gaming laptop, it can crash occasionally. It is solid though and they are few and far between. I do miss the display of my MacBook, this computer is a little lacking in resolution. The screen is not as vibrant as with a MacBook, feels flat and the screen texture is more of plastic than the glass look. I would expect a little more out of this computer for the price. I paid a little over $700 and wish I would have maybe held off for a MacBook. This is a great starter for anyone looking to spend less and with the price drop it is a better deal now.

Great budget laptop for $450
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got in on Black Friday for $450. Upgraded it immediately to 16gb of ram because the internal Vega Graphics uses 2gb of the pre-installed 8gb, and 6gb just isn’t enough today if you ask me. It also runs a bit hot due to the cooling fans sucking air from the bottom and blowing the hot air into the screen hinge, so I may do a re-paste with some thermal grizzly to help that situation. The battery life is okay, and you need to switch to the high performance power profile if you want your cpu to run at full capacity while on battery. I realize that drains the battery quicker but running on 3 to 4 cores instead of the full 8 logical cores is a no go for me. The included storage is a bit small too, so I advise adding a cheap 2.5” ssd for larger storage capabilities. Other than that once you work out the kinks it is a solid low budget graphically capable laptop.

Awesome AMD based Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop that looks and feels great. Has all the feel of its $1,000 cousins that look the same. This is not as powerful as some of the other hp pavilion laptops but definitely gets the job done. I got it on the Black Friday preview sale for $200 which made it even more of a deal. Would highly recommend.

Good laptop for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do light gaming from my laptop from time to time, and this computer does everything I need it to. 2 things led to me this particular laptop. Decent graphics for the price and the lighted keyboard. Granted, its no 2080Ti (that's in my desktop PC), but it does well enough for the light gaming I do when not on my regular computer. It only comes with a 256GB nvme ssd, so the first thing I did was upgrade that to a 1TB. Best Buy had a great deal on a PNY drive that i couldn't pass up. There is also a bay for a 2.5" ssd. I comes with the SATA cable and everything. A quick change of the BIOS settings and I had that up and running as well. All in all, not a bad computer for the money.
