For the value, it can't be beat.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd like to start off my review by stating that I'm a 23 year old college student, and I've been using a computer for about 15 years. My uncle, who built our first family computer, helped to teach me proper computer use and upkeep, and honestly, I feel this has helped me enjoy this laptop more. I'm by no means a computer expert, but there are certain steps that people can take to help their computers run better. Now, with regards to features, this is an entry level HP laptop. The value is unprecedented. A few years ago, I could only get a netbook for that price. Having said that, no, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a more expensive computer will have. It does have bloatware, which can lead to another problem. In regards to some of the reviews stating this computer was unbearably slow, I find that can be true, if one does not remove all the unnecessary software included with the laptop. Indeed, I spent the first 2 hours uninstalling software I have no use for. I also ignored the included antivirus softwares, opting for AVG Free (I've used it for years and it hasn't failed me yet.) My computer is fast enough for gaming, among other things. The RAM is also upgrade-able to 12 GB should you wish. I am considering this. Windows 10 looks nice, however I would recommend disabling some of the features that collect user data. I don't like targeted advertising, so that's just a personal preference. It works well and gets the job done. As a side note, I'm also happy Microsoft decided to offer FLAC support across the board, but unhappy that DVD playing capability is not offered out of the box. Download VLC if you plan to watch DVDs on this machine. The build of the computer itself leaves a little to be desired. The plastic feels cheap, and the computer feels fairly light and slightly fragile. Still, take care of it and you'll be fine.

Fast but appearance was dissapointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really loved this product yet was very angered by the fact that I purchased this product an open box Geek Squad certified and there were 4 stains on the keyboard, and great amounts of scratches on the outside cover. Despite this, I was very glad that its performance outdid the appearance. I use this to play some games and browse the interweb and it can actually play Dishonored (30 FPS), Star Wars Battlefront 2 (60-80 FPS) Gary's Mod (40 FPS), and Chivalry (20-40 FPS)!! Overall, I am satisfied with performance.

Fit my needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect upgrade from my nine year old Dell Inspiron, I wanted a new laptop that had Windows 10 pre-installed for basic web browsing and was not interested in a touch screen unit that included more ram and an additional $120. Perfect fit for me at $279.99.

Loving my new HP Windows 10 Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd HP Laptop I have purchased in the last couple years. The other one has Windows 8. This was inexpensive so I thought why not buy another laptop with Windows 10. I can worry about upgrading the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 or better yet Windows 10 later on. This has a different processor but still seems plenty fast enough. It was cool how while I was setting it up it automatically loaded my desktop screen, my favorites, and a lot of other stuff before I was completely set up. It was easy to follow the set up instructions and get going right out of the box. The speed is good, the colors and clarity and crispness of the screen is good. So far I have not noticed the case being easy to scratch or that the whole case bent like I saw in some reviews. The keys are quiet unlike another review I read. I think the negative comments are coming from gamers and most of those folks are never satisfied with a computer right out of the box without any upgrading or tweaking. It was a little tricky getting my MS Office 365 going at first but then I realized I needed to go to the home version to download and install on the new laptop. I just received this yesterday but no matter, I'm pretty happy with it. It will work very well for my purposes which is using Facebook and emails mostly plus I use Word in Office to write fanfiction stories which get posted on one of the fanfiction websites. I imagine I will also play an occasional game or two...my favorites being Bejeweled 3, Bejeweled Twist, and Mahjong. This is a really nice computer and much cheaper cost than my first one. It's a nice addition to my home network and I always have a computer or two in reserve and to have the up to date software and APPS installed. I like how this laptop is much lighter weight than my other laptop and it's got a nice slim profile. I expect I will be buying another HP laptop for my husband. It didn't take long at all for him to tell me he wanted one of these too. These will be our Christmas presents to each other.

Great computer, great price, no complaints.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought the HP 15-f305dx 15.6 laptop. I haven't had a home computer for several years. I use the computer at my work place and haven't had the need to buy a home computer so I was very careful to look into all of the aspects of buying one for myself at home. I went to many laptop reviews online and the information reviews on YouTube for various types of PC laptops and I settled on the HP brand. I've had Dell laptops in the past as well as Toshiba and they are excellent choices but this model interested me because of the price tag $279 at Best Buy. I seldom see any good quality from such a low price but then again the reviews I saw on Best Buy and YouTube got me thinking that technology for the value price has gotten much better in the last few years. I'm very impressed for the price I paid for this model. The full size keyboard, the screen size, and so far it has fulfilled my expectations for a budget laptop. I didn't buy this unit for gaming but rather just for simple web browsing, some light business applications like Office 365 and having the ability to watch Netflix is a bonus. If you are looking for a good, affordable laptop this is a great deal. I recommend this to others. Definitely buy the wireless mouse though, I'm not a big fan of the trackpad.

Good Performance for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i purchased this laptop for my sister for college. She has been using it for a few weeks now that school has started. She's been very happy with the performance and has started learning Windows 10 as well. Office works quickly and I've heard no complaints about the machine.

Good for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think that the laptop is worth the price. However without price in mind I can't say that I would recommend this to anyone. For about 50 dollars more you can get the Lenovo G50 series laptop that has an Intel Core i3 processor that would blow this thing out the water. Other than that it does exactly what I want it to do. Browse the web, email, and run word processors. The network interface card inside seems to run slowly, but still gets good download speeds. Still trying to determine if it's the processor slowing down web browsing or the NIC itself. On a side note it runs WoW @ 60 fps on lowest settings as long as there are no other players around.
