Q: If this laptop does not come with Microsoft Word or Office, then what does a person do?
A: Download apache Open office suite Its a free download and MS office compatible...
Q: is this laptop good for gaming like steam for an example
A: Yes. I have Steam and it works fine. The RAM is also upgradeable should you wish.
Q: Does this laptop have a touch screen?
A: No it does not.
Q: open box
A: Yes and no. "Open Box" implies that the product was purchased, box was opened, and then returned with no prior use. But that is strictly based upon the word of the customer who returns the item. For all you know, the customer could have fiddled with it first and then put it back in the box as neatly as possible. Or, they could have found defects in the product upon its first use, were unsatisfied with it, and simply returned it without saying anything. I believe I experienced this with a recent purchase of an open-box laptop, which I bought with the Geek Squad certified inspection. This meant that I bought an open box item, they turned it on to see if it booted up and if the OS functioned properly. What they did not check were small things, like the functionality of the keys. Over the course of one week of use, I discovered about six different keys didn't work on the laptop. It is very possible that the laptop just came that way out of the box, and it is also very possible that the first purchaser could have damaged the keys somehow and then returned the item without saying anything. Either or. For the record, I have purchased open box electronics before that have had absolutely no problem whatsoever and have been totally satisfied.

A: Yes.
Q: External monitor connection
A: It can be connected via HDMI, but if you need VGA you'll have to get an HDMI to VGA adapter.
A: It's louder than I expected, but not loud enough if you have other people in the room conversing while you're trying to watch. I'd recommend Headphones or external speakers (Note: It doesn't have bluetooth capabilities). Also, Windows 10 does not include DVD movie support out of the box. Either pay the $15 licensing fee from the Store App, or download VLC Media Player to watch DVDs.
