Bought for wife .. So far seems to be a nice unit.straight forward set up.

You get what you pay for and this is a horrible computer. Incredibly slow considering its memory, hard drive, etc... and the attempt at IPhone style image expansion is nothing but a pain and nuisance and it's touch pad is the worst I've ever used. Maybe I just got a dog but maybe not too.. I wouldn't recommend this computer to my worst enemy. A waste of even it's low price. Bought it on the recommendation of an employee too but they obviously had no idea about it other than what the box said.

Great lap for a beginner or even someone who is a pro

I bought this hp thinking it would be great as I had the hp Chromebook 14. It doesn't compare to the Chromebook this is much slower for start up time with only 1 application downloaded, it takes too long to open the programs and the touch pad has an odd texture that I didn't like. I only bought this since I had to have a windows operating system for online college classes with LockDown browser and this pc has been miserable using it, it won't load LockDown without clicking it 3 times. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It's going back tomorrow.

This laptop works awesome since i purchased it. Features are all excellent and also it have much attractive looks. Good for the school or college students.

I purchased this as a budget laptop for my son who is starting to get into basic PC games. On sale this week for a total purchase price of $252, this seemed like a great budget purchase. Following purchasing on Saturday morning, when I opened it there was a small problem. The keyboard was not working properly. Keys ASDF JKL: and .3 on the number pad all did not work. Took it back to the Store where the Geek Squad confirmed it was working working and provided me a new one. Following an in store test, my son went home satisfied. On Sunday all was well. Then Monday morning (Windows 10 issue maybe) an update was installed. The system then would not boot up properly. I recovery was attempted and failed. The system now attempts to recovery on every restart with no success. Fortunately Best Buy refunded my money and we are back on the market looking for a deal. Budget Buy Gone Wrong!

I really like this laptop, because of how cheap it was and how large the screen is. After the first week of me having my laptop I realized how terrible the battery life is on this laptop. After 20 minutes on it, the battery went from 100% to 82%. I can usually be on it for about an hour and a half, then I have to go charge it. I feel that I have to always be hooked up to a charger, because I'm always fearful if my battery is going to die. Also, the top is very cheap and scratches easily.

Bought for my son and it is way more than he needs and at a great price! Can't wait to give it to him.

I write views often enough that I rarely believe all the 1 STAR ratings. I was a bit wary of the cheap price, after spending four hours getting everything perfect, time for the restart. Error, Diagnosing problem with restart up over and over. Finally tried for a fresh install. Booted great!! Set everything up. Boom! Failure to restart. Seven total hours of wasted frustration. At least with Windows 7 it gave you the option to try different settings. I have 4 other computers with Win 10. This computer has a high degree of Lemons. Buyer Beware. This will be returned and if best buy can't come up with something decent. I have a bigger budget will go for the nice one this time.

It's pretty fast for how cheap it was. I love it. The software is Windows 10.

This laptop is very great, I enjoy every bit of it!

I feel this laptop is very cheaply made but for the price you paid. I've been using 17" higher price entertainment notebook so, for me, this one is cheap looking and not that I expected but you can't expect much for the price you pay. Also 15" screen is too tiny to use several Apps. It is for the beginner or teenager who is getting to know the computer.

Ok ...... computer for beginners and for the price

Was a big HP fan prior to purchasing this product. Bought it 10 months ago, and it has never worked properly. Touchpad goes crazy, font size changes from huge to miniscule while typing. It has been worked on by Geek Squad at least 6 times. They say it is repaired. Within 2 days, same issue returns. BestBuy won't take the product back until they have sent it off twice for repairs. I have asked them repeatedly to send it off, but they keep saying they have fixed it in store. Gave up on Geek Squad and took it to an authorized HP repair center. They advised that they would send it to HP repairs. Repair center called back 2 days later and said they had discussed with HP, and HP said it was a software issue, not hardware ,so not covered under warranty. This is a bare bones laptop, which my wife only uses for e-mail. The only software on it came factory installed. This product is still not a year old, covered under mfg one yr warranty, and is worthless. HP does not stand behind their warranty. Geek Squad says that it is a hardware issue, but they can't repair it. Guess it will be a doorstop!

Slow speed, gets stuck, noisy fan, finger pad is hard to press, worse laptop I have ever bought. My previous Toshiba laptop worked fine until it broke. So, I could not look online to see other options to replace it. Went to store and clerk said this one was fast.......Wrong information, this HP notebook is just that a Slow, clumsy notebook. Worse purchase I have ever made.

I thought I would like this laptop at first, but 2 trips to Geek Squad and I have to get a new computer. Only 3 weeks after this purchase, the hard drive has to be replaced. Luckily, I bought a year of Geek Squad service and they will either give me my money back or a brand new computer.

1st try - stripped off some of the bloatware, like the games and shopping apps, uninstalled mcaffee and installed Avast. Then chrome browser. Restarted and it went into looping errors. Exchaged at store. 2nd try - this time stopped short of chrome and did the required Avast restart. Same problem. Don't waste your time.

My daughter purchased because she needed a good computer for school and it has definitely held up.

Good basic computer for email, web, office tasks. Enjoy
