I needed an additional drive to facilitate information transfer and based on past experience this is a quality unit. I have yet to use it to copy disks, but I used it to install the new operating system with no problems, other than that microsoft Windows Update FAILS TO FUNCTION, on the last four windows 7 systems I have installed.

This HP internal CD drive performs better than the original CD drive that was installed in my desktop PC. It operates seamlessly and was even easier to install than what I originally thought would be a difficult task to complete. As always, Best Buy came through for me as the store had it in stock, which is one of the reasons that I remain a loyal customer.

does everything you need a burner to do. easy to install, fast write speed, and very inexpensive. if you have an empty drive bay and want an extra burner...this is the one to get! plus it comes with cyberlink media suite 12 or 13.

Nothing dfficult to install and no need to do something else, as soon I powered up the computer it was automatically recognized, installed and started to work, simple as that, I needed to burn 100 music cds for a promotion, did the job at a rate of 4 minutes each cd content of 12 songs, I took the time to check each one, no errors and everything worked perfect. A little warm but nothing to worry about, taking in count the X52 speed... Perfect!

A DVD/CD drive really didn't cross my mind until the one I'd been using for several years quit working. I needed a new one and didn't want to wait or do a lot of comparison shopping. My Dell XPS 8300 original failed after 2 years and this unit installed very easy, worked with plug and play right away and is very fast.

It is a DVD writer. It works. Nothing fancy. Easy to install. Reasonably quiet.

So far, it has performed very well, with no errors. The interface is good and efficient. I've burned mostly CD's so far, with one important exception - a set of recovery DVD's for my Sony laptop. Previous drives, even the internal one in my laptop, created errors, but not this HP drive. I have a major DVD burning job coming up and will be curious how it performs.

This HP DVD like most HP products, works well with the Mint Linux OS that I use as my primary OS on six computers. There are 4 computers that I made and 2 HP laptops. An ISO is a copy of an operating system that is copied to the HDD and allows you to boot into that OS when you restart your computer. This ISO must be copied in perfect detail. This HP DVD does this. Perfect copies every time.
