Its a DVD burner

Also I downloaded Linux Mint and burned the ISO to a disc. Now that everything is installed there is a good chance I will never use this drive ever again unless I need to clear everything out and start over.

Optic Drive

Inside I found the drive to be in good shape. The installation went pretty well, but my new kitty interfered the whole time causing the application of a bandaid to the back of my left hand. After removing one of the kitten's claws from the disk bay, I started the computer and lo I was able to play CDs and stuff like that.
