    Average performance - weak connectivity

So my 8 year old Logitech wireless kb/mouse combo reached it's lifespan and I needed to replace it quickly and on a budget. I'd give this setup a 5 for price. Performance and connectivity for me are the shortcomings of this combo which is why I give it a 3 overall. The mouse connection is good but the kb is sketchy and slow - seems like the mouse needs to be active for the kb to work - ie; watching a movie using VLC you should be able to use the kb commands to pause, raise/lower volume etc and this does work, but not all the time. I find I have to activate or move the mouse before the kb functions. My old Logitech didn't do this - I NEVER turned off that kb for 8 yrs, never had to replace a battery, never had to remove/replace the pairing usb to reset. This HP setup just doesn't hold it's connection. The mouse is not precise. You will labor to cut and paste - I've tweaked the settings but it's still pretty sloppy. If you wanted this for casual use you can't go wrong for the price. But if you are like me and use a PC for your media center and park you butt in a lounger and use the kb/mouse for controls I'd recommend looking at something better than the HP.

Get keyboard if you like the older style

I’ve been using mice and keyboards since the 80’s so I have used a lot of different ones, but I always seem to come back to this style. I purchased this set because I just couldn’t get used to the keyboard that came with my new HP desktop computer. It was smaller and the keys where flatter. I am a middle-aged accounting student, so I use the 10-key a lot and on the new keyboard, that came with the computer, all the buttons were in the wrong place. I type and 10-key by touch and it was extremely frustrating to think I was hitting the zero and instead getting the right arrow or I’d want to backspace and get the delete. I was ready to throw the keyboard out the window. I also like the feel and sound of the older style keyboards. So, after doing some research I came across this set. Even though I only needed the keyboard I decided to get a mouse and keyboard combination so I would only have to use one USB port. This keyboard has a lot of extra buttons which I haven’t bothered to figure out yet. Overall I love this keyboard. If you’re like me and like the key position, sound and feel of the older style keyboard this is the one to get. And it’s a good price as well.

    Works well, but poor range.

Picked this up to replace an older keyboard/mouse set that I had. Overall, I'm pleased with it, and I haven't had any issues with the mouse when operating at a reasonable distance (say, 4-5 feet) but the keyboard has fairly poor range. Any further than 2 feet or so and it begins to drop out, which was an issue for me as my computer sits under my desk and the USB ports sit low in the back, so it would work, but constantly drop keystrokes, and sometimes just stop communicating altogether. I did have a USB extension on hand that I just ran up to where the monitor is, which solved the problem, but this isn't typical of wireless keyboards in my experience. If you're going to be placing your keyboard very close to your machine (or have a USB extension available) this is a cheap, well made keyboard that feels fairly nice to use. But if you think you're going to need to use it at any sort of distance, you might want to look elsewhere.

So this keyboard and mouse are just awful. I have an HP desktop and I usually buy Microsoft keyboards and mice, but they're getting hard to find locally, everyone stocks logitech. I haven't had any good luck with that brand, but that's a different review. I saw this inexpensive combo and since it's HP, I figure it will work good with the desktop. NOPE, no matter what USB port I put the dongle in or how close I got it to my work area, it would miss keystrokes, the mouse would freeze and I know it was lousy communication between the wireless. The combo lasted less than 3 days before I threw it on the floor. Now it definitely doesn't work. It didn't cost enough to bother taking it back, the gas and my time are worth more than the purchase price. This combo pack should come with a dollar taped to the box so when you toss it in the trash can, you can actually say you threw something of value away. It's that bad.

I was looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Dex setup at home and I came across this little beauty for only $20. Clearly, I had to give it a shot for that price. I'm glad I did. It fits exactly how I wanted it to. Heck, I'm typing this review on it right now, as a matter of fact. The HP Classic v2 Desktop Wireless keyboard + Mouse is perfect for my needs. It's light weight and easily portable for those away missions. Not only that, but the required batteries come already inside. And they're not the cheap ones. We've got Energizers Baby!! I have to recommend this to anyone looking for a wireles setup. For home or on the go.This will suite your needs.

I bought this keyboard for my mother. Her old key board was so worn that you couldn't even read the letters on the keys anymore. SO people who didn't have the keyboard memorized couldn't use her computer. LOL (not even her). She loves this one and says it is very comfortable. She also says that she doesn't have to stretch her hands apart as far, but the keys are still big enough for her "fat fingers". Meaning she doesn't hit other keys by accident. The only down fall she says is that the keyboard is louder than the other one. When I asked her what that meant she says when she pushes on the keys, they make a clicking noise which is louder that her old one.

I've been trying to find a suitable keyboard and mouse combo, but I haven't had good luck in doing so. I usually stick with Microsoft packs, but there aren't many around, at least in my area. Logitech seems to own the market and I've never had a happy experience with their keyboards. So I tried this inexpensive HP. The mouse lasted about a week with me. It's just too small for my hands. My biggest complaint is that the USB signal cuts out no matter how close I get the transmitter to the keyboard. I'll be typing and it just stops. I know I'll be replacing this unit as soon as I see something else that I think might work or I find a Microsoft keyboard that I like and is in my price range. If you need a cheap setup, this will suffice, but I wouldn't count on it lasting very long.

This wireless set was purchased for a PC connected to a TV. The small keyboard and mouse fit nicely on a small cushioned surface (placed in lap-purchased separately). The small usb updater is nice as it makes it less likely to get bumped around (doesn't stick out far from computer). I use the mouse for some casual games and do occasionally lose the connection to the adapter, but for general use it works fine (Web browsing etc.). Battery life on the mouse seems to be good so far, especially since I don't usually turn it off (the switch can be a pain). Keyboard is basic, but for general use also works well. Decent all around set for basic use a and a good price point compared to many similar sets.

It's a decent wireless keyboard/mouse combo. Simply plug the provided adapter in a USB port and away you go ; it connects and installs itself with no input needed, and is ready to use. The mouse is pretty basic, left and right buttons and a wheel but I was impressed with it's accuracy and sensitivity, it can easily find a single pixel if you're using a product like Snagit to capture screen images. The keyboard is very basic, a gamers keyboard it is not, there are no programmable keys and the media keys seem to be limited to volume and that's about it. Just a no-nonsense input device that does all of the basics very well.

The keyboard and mouse are good, but if you lose or damage the USB receiver, the whole unit is useless. My USB receiver was damaged and HP does not sell replacements, nor will the unit work with a Bluetooth USB receiver. The USB connector is tiny and easy to lose/break. Too bad that it doesn't store in the mouse (like others) or this might not have happened. I'm just upset that now I have to buy a whole new unit instead of just replacing the receiver. If you are going to never move the computer or unit around, then this would be fine, definitely not useful for portable use.

It has been about a month and while the mouse is still working great, the keyboard however has begun to have issues... I have noticed that the my most used keys have begun to "stick" causing hilarious spelling errors and gaming characters to have sudden mental breakdowns. While I do not use this for work(thank god) I do not forsee using this much longer. And yes it was only $20.00 but (for about the same amount given inflation) I purchased a Logitech duo years ago, if I hadn't lost the USB piece I'd still be using that set as both still worked(for work/social/gaming) perfectly!!

Some keys on my old HP wireless keyboard, which I have had for years, were sticking and others not registering their characters properly.I blame it on wear and tear, and, the probability I could have taken better care of it myself. I purchased this new HP wireless keyboard as a replacement to work with my HP desktop and that it works with Windows 10, according to the packaging. I am very satisfied as it fits my needs. Easy to set up and quickly got it working. I have had the item for several weeks now and no current or foreseeable problems.

I normally type fast-ish and accurately but this keyboard fails to register my key strokes quite often (more specifically, the entire "Shift" key row and lower). I tried to emphasize pressing the buttons harder but it didn't come naturally and it felt this shouldn't be necessary. I recently purchased a new computer and it came with a new keyboard and I DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM with the new keyboard. This keyboard may be okay for someone who types slower or types hard on the keys. However, I rather spend $20 on a keyboard that suits anyone's style of typing.

I primarily use a laptop for everything, but recently acquired an old iMac to refurbish. It didn't come with any accessories, so I stopped by my local BB to pick up just a cheap keyboard and mouse. Found this and couldn't beat the price. The box only lists compatability with Windows systems, but it worked perfectly on the iMac right away. I also liked that it has the additional features buttons like play/pause, etc.

Good keyboard. I've always used Logitech devices for many years. However, I decided to try a few from Amazon, brands I didn't recognize. Two of them failed within a few weeks. So, I went back to my tried and tested Logitech. So far it has lived up to my expectations. Keep in mind, this is not a "soft" key touch or "silent" keyboard. For the price, you will not be disappointed.

Not an outstanding keyboard by any means, but for $20 with the mouse, it's completely fine for a computer that only gets used occasionally. The keyboard has the standard keys in a sort of conventional layout, but it lacked the separation between the edit/arrow keys and the numeric keypad. I didn't think this would be a big deal, but it became annoying. They keys aren't as 'snappy' as one might like, but this is preference. Again, for $20 I shouldn't complain.

I needed to replace a very old KVMP switch connected wired keyboard and wired mouse in one of our locations and the this wireless keyboard/optical mouse combo was the perfect solution. Being wireless has moved that location light years to modern times. On a serious note, the keyboard has a nice tactil feel and the mouse is just right. Love this combo and will buy again if needed.

Read tons of review before purchasing this item. Thought it would be good. Turned out to be very bad. After a week of use, I am buying a better one. Surprised HP is selling products of such poor quality. Issues: 1. Some keys need to be pressed with certain force that too at a certain angle. This is especially problematic when you type a password that is not echoed as such. 2. Pressing keys creates lot of noise 3. No lighted indicator for caps lock. 4. Mouse movement is not smooth.

I bought this product for my work in order to facilitate my work space - out of nowhere the keyboard will stop working; battery has to be switched frequently; and must admit as well that some time I need to bang the keyboard on my desk in order to make it work properly. Been dealing with this for years in which now I regret it.

Started having issues with missing key strokes. Lot of trouble loging into sites with passwords. You will definitely miss some characters. It's pain. Mouse works fine though. I wanted to return it but I missed my return deadline buy a day. Please stay away from this product. I wanted another one, but it's only two months and don't have money for another one right now. So planning to use it as long as the mouse works.
