This laptop was definitely a good purchase. It's i7 5500u & GeForce 940m makes definitely makes a machine that will play any game you throw at it. It may not always push 1080p60 but tone down the graphic settings a bit and it's a definite contender. It has played everything I have thrown at it with little to no fuss at all. Windows 10 also runs great on here. The touch screen, though I barely use it, is also a great addition at the price.

Excellent laptop for the price. Speakers are top notch and Wndows 10 is leaps and bounds better than Windows 8.1. The backlit keyboard is a must have. The design of tbe unit is sleek.

i use this laptop 7 days a week often for 18 hours a day during peak project crunch times. (LOL! Yes I do have a life, but I also have a very busy software business). i run wampserver / lamp stack, SQLServer studio, i support webRTC development, I do music multi-track recording with it, audio mixing, and then all the usual Office suite, and other minor applications. it never skips a beat. I love the backlit keyboard for working darker locations (this is now a 'must have' on any future laptop!), and the keyboard itself is nicely spaced and very responsive and accurate. I'm hardwearing on keyboards, my last laptop I had to replace the keyboard after a couple of years. :) I type fast and given the amount of hours I use and depend on my laptop for my livelihood, a solid keyboard I'm happy with is very important to me. also important to me, but becoming increasingly less available on the skinnier thinbooks and so on, is the available external ports. this has an SD slot + four USB's + an HDMI and best of all ... a RJ45 so i can hardwire connect to networks. Some of my clients do not like consultants using their wireless; testing video webRTC development over wireless can sometimes be problematic, and of course configuring a wireless router when the wireless connections isnt working is occasionally an issue! I dont use it a lot, but its nice to have it. Its fast, i like the big screen for developing software with, and for watching TV or movies. The i7 is plenty fast enough, and the 1TB drive is more than fast enough. SSD would improve the boot time, but as this is "on" all the time, that usually isnt an issue. I've been a happy buyer of this laptop since Sept 2016.

Notebook came with Windows 10; it's ok but I'm not a social media kind of guy so a lot of the features are lost on me. One thing I really dislike is the multiple functions assaciated with the touchpad... I have tried disabling most of these features which solves the problem... until I shut things down and reboot later... the defaults are back. I want to configure things the way I like them not be 'forced' into configurations some developer likes. There are a few features that continually reset themselves to windows defaults and I have not been able to overcome this problem. Another problem is related to the wireless ac capacity. I'm sure it's great if you have a wireless ac router, but while it is backward compatible, the range of my AT&T Uverse gateway has almost been cut in half. Upgrading to wireless ac router is not a simple thing with the current AT&T hardware, but a range extender has solved the loss of range and ultimately, connectivity; I am not however, able to take advantage of the dual band performance. I primarily use the system for artwork, including photography, digital manipulation, and experimental video creation. It performs well with the 16 GB RAM and the secondary video card. The 5400 RPM hard drive, standard for notebooks, is slower than I'd like but I haven't pushed it too far yet. This system replaced an HP laptop with an i7 core which I had upgraded to 16 GB RAM, the hinge on that unit failed after 3 years, and I'm pleased. I have noted that the hinge system of the screen seems much more robust.

I am satisfied with my purchase, however I missed my previuos one fitures like back light, a clear notificacion y I have the upper case mode. Size and speed is allright.

Wanted something powerful for Photo / Video projects as well as multitasking. Laptop serves this purpose well once over the price point. Backlit keypad a definite plus!.

This Envy is super slim and cute. It's very easy and fast to setup and start working. I am very please with it and would recommend it to friends and relatives. What I don't like is OS, Windows 10. It's much better than Windows 8.1, which I very much disliked. I had bought an HP running Windows 8.1 several months ago. My daughter got one earlier and we in the family all disliked Windows 8.1. We disliked it for its features. It wants to control everything and leaves us little choice in how to use and take care of a machine, as we were able to before Windows 8. It seems to treat human as machines instead. Windows 10 is not much better. I still vote for Windows 7 , the best.

I have had the Envy for about a month and really enjoy it. I replaced and eight year old Dell and the difference is remarkable especially with windows 10 and the touch screen capabilities.

This is everything I needed in a laptop. I replaced a Dell that locked up when I had installed windows 10. I have been very pleased with the speed and the size of the screen. I use this computer on my desk I wanted something that didn't have a lot of equipment to attach. The only thing I am missing is the back light to the keys but that was not a deal breaker. I learned my lesson and made a recovery drive as soon as I got this and I also added 3 years of Geek Squad. Even though this computer is fairly new I am enjoying it so far. I did price comparison and Best Buy was a great deal.

This is A LOT of computer for the price. Powerful, responsive, and good sound quality right out of the box. There is a bit of light bleed around the screen (checked display units in multiple stores, it's consistent). Not a deal breaker, but a bit annoying when the screen is not fully lit.

This laptop has everything I was looking for...High def Touchscreen, top of the line processor, dedicated graphics card, and plenty of ports for Ethernet and USB connectivity. The construction is solid with a sleek design. The only drawback was the slow 5400 RPM hard drive which I'm in the process of upgrading to an SSD and transferring the slow drive to the second HDD bay for storage. Finding the appropriate HDD kit to do this has been a challenge.

The large screen makes this laptop the perfect compromise in choosing between a new laptop or desktop. Fast and reliable, great for browsing, multiple applications at once.

I really like the 17 inch screen, its processing is quick, the sound is good, it has plenty of power and is great for games.

Not crazy about windows 10 but it's taken time to get used to. The pc itself has this wonderful backlit keypad, processor is very fast, has a separate keypad too! Touchscreen is an added bonus, which I use every now and then. Speaker sound is really nice and the fact that I can run my bluetooth & wireless devices to it makes this investment worth every penny. So far I'm very happy with the pc, just hope she'll stand the test of time.....

Very powerful, great graphics but a bit heavier than I would like. Battery life is also pretty short especially with the screen on full power

Went from windows 7 to 10 so a learning curve for me. all works well for me and plays my games well.My pictures uploaded from my camera look good on the screen.

I wanted a much Faster computer,Reliable computer, Larger memory and one that I could do all I needed to do as well with my job...well, I found that and so much more with this purchase. I love that it is touch screen as well and it makes it even easier for this challenged person to see the items as well as to communicate what I am wanting to do. The new Cortana is exciting as it looks to help me when I ask it a question or ask it to remind me of something. Thank you for the opportunity to review this computer. For those wanting exceptional computer that can do it all, well I found it!

You get everything with this laptop. It's pretty much a gaming computer but for half the price of its competitors.

This computer is definitely top of the line. It runs windows 10 smoothly and I've installed the Adobe creative cloud on it and those programs are running perfectly. Only negative note that I have is that the battery doesn't last very long.. but I kind of expected that.

Looking for a good laptop for everything but also online gaming and nothing was good enough until I found this one. Awesome laptop, very fast and complete.
